As always your videos are outstanding . Infact I have directed some of our Dell customers to your channel if they really wanted to see a unbiased review of the Dell Products. Looking forward to see if you plan to compare the Dell 7000 series latitudes against the 5000 series latitudes and the 9000 against 7000 series .
Cheers Mash IT, my Lenovo X1 Nano still hasn't arrived yet lol the shipping delays for Lenovo is pretty nasty but Dell doing well =) to get computers to Australia in good time still.
@@BsianTech yeah Lenovo are pretty slow at the moment, ordered an x1 carbon gen 9 on release and my due date is late April 😭 still I have plenty to get through for a while
Congrats on one of the first 7420 unboxing videos. Looking forward to the full review. I'm debating between this Lenovo's X1 Gen 9/Yoga Gen 6 and eager to get order done. Leaning towards Lenovo due to 1-pointing stick, 2-16:10 display vs. Latitude sticking with 16:9, and 3-slightly lighter. Disappointed that both Lenovo and Dell are not currently allowing 32 GB RAM configurations with their i7-1165G7. Doesn't seem to be much of an advantage for the i7-1185G7.
Actually my friend this is not one of the first it is first at all. No one else except poor 1 minute Dell didn't give us any of info.. I am really exiting to see how good this laptop is. Also like you waiting what to decide to buy. I am in Slim 7 pro cause of 16:10 and aluminum hinge with stereo in it and good CPU, Carbon gen 9 still has mushy rubber coating which by the way peeling in my carbon 6, it is annoying and stupid decision not to mention how greesy palm rest is.. And of course this one.. Even look for the Dell 9520 with 15" inch not 15.6 I think it will be one of the best option 15 inch in 14 inch chasy
The displays on latitudes can be configured to have touch or non touch displays. A lot of business focus laptops have option for touch or non touch displays so I don't put much emphasis on that part.
Can the screen be rotated to work as a tablet because the one I have is just like yours, which only tilts till 190 degree and not further. Is it the maximum limit or am I missing something ?
Sorry @Programming's Fan I can't remember I didn't remember if I tried portrait mode on it or not. I will ask my collegues who will come across it if it can work in that mode or not.
With a laptop I care a lot about the duration of use (battery). I weigh in between thinkpad x1 carbon gen 9 vs latitude 7420 . Which laptop battery life do you think is better? Thank you
The Latitude 7420 should have better battery life, from past experience and just quick testing of the X1C9 the larger display on the X1C9 hurt the battery life compare to the smaller display on the 7420.
I am using thinkpad laptop t480. It is good in the battery. I don't know about dell. But thinkpad it good. it is known in terms of endurance (falling..)
Laurence I am assuming so as well just maybe better temps because it has more surface area for heat to use to spread to dissipate =). Would love to hear your thoughts on the 7520 when you spent some time with it as well.
have you receive your 7520, is it aluminium one at the back or carbon. Also can lid be open to 180 degree. Please share tour taughts with us. Thanks in advance
@@LaurenceLiew Great so you have dark gray one, awesome. When you find some time let us know about battery life and how do you like it in total. I am very close to order one just cause od display size. 9520 is way to expensive
It's just matter of opening the bottom cover and then unplug the battery cable, unscrew the screws holding the battery and that's it to replace the battery.
@@BsianTech Yea, I caught your more in depth review after posting that question, which covers that point also. Thankfully, it appears they haven’t gone the route of Apple, with welding the batteries in! ;-) Thanks. Like your vids. Cheers.
I am mostly interested in your desk. Is it a standing desk? where can I get one? And I wonder how well that mount will perform with Dell Precision 7550. It is a pretty heavy workstation.
Hi Aydin Jalilov, yes I do run off a standing/sit desk which I have purchased myself and a monitor arm with the laptop mount. The desk and monitor arm were from Zen Space Desks (www.zenspacedesks.com.au) look in the description in this video for a nice little discount for the monitor arm, I will have something extra for the desk as well soon which I have organised with them for my viewers. The mount will work well for heavy workstations most arms are decent for workstations its actually the light laptops that's the issue. If you are in market for monitor arm I have created a video on things to look out for here: ua-cam.com/video/JJ5uBzp68uY/v-deo.html I have plans soon to create a video guide on standing desks as well just matter of finding the time.
Why don't you zoom in on what you are presenting instead of always having so much in the camera frame, seems to be the BasianDad show more than zooming in on the device.
would you recommend possibly using this to game? I want to get a powerful laptop I can use for low level games but for a good price so I'm looking into these. I found a latitude 7420 with an 11th gen i7, 16gb of ram and 512 gb SSD storage but I don't want to regret buying this. Thanks in advance and I loved your video.
Thanks Patrick, I am awaiting for my X1 Nano to arrive, the T14 is a little bit different to the Dell 7420 as the Lenovo T14 would really be better off compared to the Dell 5420 which I am awaiting for that to arrive too. This would be very interesting to compare the Latitude 7320 (which I will unbox in a day or two when I have spare time) with the X1 Nano actually since both 13inchs.
Bosco_FPS hmmm that is a thought so far for me the performance of the XPS 13 9310 has been disappointing as it couldn't get rid of it's heat this on the other hand looks more promising but the 16:10 display and speakers on the XPS 13 is really nice =).
I’m so disappointed in this machine, even though I got it through work with all the bells and whistles. Load times, the speakers, the screen brightness, the docking station. So much to complain about when compared to my Lenovo. Going to be a long lease with this...
Sorry to hear this. I myself was trying to choose between the Latitude 7420 2in1 and the Lenovo X1 yoga gen 6, and your comment has really made me relieved I chose the X1 yoga, even though it will take longer to arrive according to shipping times. I had a hunch the Dell wouldnt be as good in reality as it promises
Hi Trade Pandey, there are two versions of the Latitude 7420, there is the clamshell version which is featured in this video and there is a 2-in-1 version which you are referring to which also has digital pen support with the 2-in-1 version.

I cant believe mate you are the only one who had this laptop in his/her studio to review.. thumbs up again.. good job

hi did you bought the laptop how is it do you recommend it to me or not
so, since this notebook has 2 type c ports. and 1 hdmi... can it be connected to 3 displays?
great unboxing vid. btw, did you ever get some info what the sticker is for on the trackpad?

Soldered RAM? Why? Why, Dell?
