    Will you be doing a sound comparison on the center channels? Curious as to the difference between the 500c ii and 504c ii.

      I have plans to do gen 1 vs gen 2 but we haven't decided on if we will do tier vs tier yet. Will likely be next season if we jump into those comparisons but, gen 1 vs 2 and reviews coming soon!

    Is the new 504C II still a 2-way design or have they updated them to be a 2.5 way?

    • @TopShelfAudio
      @TopShelfAudio  2 роки тому +3

      Seems to be a 2 way but it's hard to say. It doesn't seem like Klipsch officially markets anything as a 2.5 so, would be more a question for the engineers. I will get back to you on this if I can lock in an official answer.

      It took some digging, but I believe GR Research tested the original 504c and determined that the outer woofers play at a different frequency range than the inner woofers. It's definitely not an easy thing to find out though, for some odd reason. Anyway, hope that helps! 🍻

      504c is a 2.5 way, outer woofers cross to inners at 500 Hz and inner woofers cross to tweeter at 1500 Hz.
      interestingly with the new 504c gen2 Klipsch have moved the crossovers up to 650 and 1900 Hz respectively while the rest of the gen2 5 1/4 inch speakers have remained at the 1500hz crossover.
      I'm eagerly awaiting these listening tests and the comparison of the two.

    Look at actual measurements for Klipsch center channel speakers. Their horizontal dispersion is terrible. I went with KEF instead. KEF's centers work better--no doubt largely because of their coaxialdesign. You'll need a little room to fit a KEF Q650c under your TV, but it's a better choice over what's shown here.

      Any chance this video is still getting done? I am torn between the rp-500 ii and 504 ii. Do the two extra woofers really make a difference, especially with an added subwoofer in the room. I could really use the extra space on my mantle with the 500 lol but willing to sacrifice the space for the 504 if the sound is that much better. Thanks!

    hii good afternoon, my name is Ben , i have my new home theater Klipsch reference range. Could you please advise me which is the best quality speaker wire to buy for my new home theater?

    • @TopShelfAudio
      @TopShelfAudio  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching! Specific speaker/power needs and the length of the run will be your primary factor. Once you know these two items, you can grab a chart online to determine wire guage needs and make the decision easy. For more in depth coverage on this, as well as other topics though, check out our Q&A videos from season one. Tons of info in those!

    liked and subscribed.
    Only just found your channel but enjoying catching up.
    As said below, can't wait for the listening tests and OG vs. gen2 comparisons.
    I can't decide whether to get an old or new 504c to match my first gen 5000f's.
    The new stuff seems to be a substantial improvement over the old but I really want a good match with my front LCR and on paper the new 504cii has a markedly different crossover to the first gen. What to do what to do...
    Anyway, keep the great vids coming.

    excellent videos, I currently have the rp 8000F and was about to buy the rp504c, but seeing that the 504Cii is already there, the doubt arose, should I buy the new generation of center speaker? or buy the last generation? I really appreciate your help and sharing your experience

    Will the Rp-500sa ii sound good with the gen 1? I have Gen 1 and I'm thinking about getting another pair, wondering if I should stick with gen 1 or go with gen 2

    • @TopShelfAudio
      @TopShelfAudio  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah, they will blend well together as, it's the same materials used in creation of both generations. Aesthetically I would probably lean toward sticking to matching gens but, acoustically, you will still match mixing. Can't go wrong either way. :)

    I have 600c mk i with rp-6000f ii for front, do you think its will be good upgrade from my center to 504c ii?

    • @TopShelfAudio
      @TopShelfAudio  2 роки тому +1

      It would for sure be an upgrade but I'm not sure how much of one as this will be dependent on your listening habits. If you find you are lacking in your center, go for it! If you aren't lacking though and are still happy with your current setup, maybe there is no need. :)

      @@TopShelfAudio can't wait for the 8000 review and comparison my dear is an old friend of mine and he offered to swap my 8000 for the new but I'm going to wait for your review and comparison you seem to now klipsch speakers well,my friend the dealer told me let's wait until we are sure that the new ones are better,I'm no expert but the inside of the cabinet looks better build it looks like the RF 7 3,and the outside looks more clean maybe the world,but I will stick with performance over looks

      @TopShelfAudio  2 роки тому

      The 8000 unboxing and disassembly will release this Saturday at noon and the reviews and compares will follow. After taking it apart for the disassembly, I can tell you there has been some huge updates to the cabinet. I would be surprised if performance doesn't greatly jump as well. Will know more soon though! Stay tuned for the review.. :)
