Want to make a correction in the video I said I have not heard the forte 3 or 4 my apologies I have heard the forte 3 but have not heard the forte 4, just to reiterate that I have heard the forte 3 at a local Audio dealer, and like I said in the video they were nice but they just didn’t appeal to me as much as the Forte 1. My apologies

I bought my Forte 1,s in 1988 and still have them, they're almost in the same condition as yours with a few minor blemishes, they still sound great on all kinds of music 😊

You ought to see my ADS 1230s, purchased in 1983. Talk about mint condition. Not for sale. Not yet at least.

Came very close to buying the Forte in 1986. Got a deal on Polk SDA1-C's I couldn't turn down and I still have them in mint, upgraded condition. I am finally getting the Forte lV ( in Cherry) and will be picking them up 9/10/24. They will be my main speakers in my new "retirement" home. I'm very much looking forward to relaxing, looking over the lake and playing every CD and piece of vinyl in my collection. I'm also happy knowing my 2 sons will have to figure out who gets which pair of speakers. Boy....living would be great if that is the most difficult decision they have to make in life.😆

That’s awesome. I’m very happy that you’re retiring and will be able to relax and listen to your music.
Because at the end of the day, what we have is good food, good music and you’re good to go.
The forte fours are an incredible speaker. You will enjoy them. I’ve listened to them here locally and I can tell you they are really nice. Give them about 100 hours to break in and you will be very pleased. Cherry that’s what I would’ve picked. Also thanks for the comment and enjoy.

Congratulations on these speakers. They look fantastic. I'm a big fan of Klipsch myself. I've had almost everything from the Heritage line and currently own the AL5, but in a week, I'll be making the final upgrade to the Underground Jubilee.
But... please... do something about your acoustics. You will gain so much in your music quality from this. Get a thick rug for the floor and place acoustic panels on your back wall and side walls. And I don't mean a flimsy wall hanging, but panels made of good acoustic material, 8 cm thick.
I used to focus on better amplifiers, better speakers, but since I started working on the acoustics, the music sounds so much better. No amplifier upgrade can compete with this.
Good luck with your channel and enjoy your amazing speakers.

Thank you so much for your kind words and comment. Yes I do believe a carpet and a sound acoustics would improve quite substantially. Thanks for the input. I’ve been thinking this over myself for quite some time. Awesome thank you congratulations on your jubilee. They are a fantastic speaker.

Ive had an audio business for years and everybody that comes in likes the forte 1 better than current speakers. They were also Paul Klipsch favorite model. The 2s have a nasy peak in the upper mids and the larger horn will tear your head off

Nice! Dude! Congrats on finding em! I just recently got a pair of Forte l’s too! 😂 Got em from my neighbor who was the only owner, and they’re perfectly clean. Beautiful condition. Consecutive model #’s of course. In the process of upgrading the crossover parts. Huh…mines the 1st version. Didn’t know that. Dr. D’s vid was great. Apparently the l’s had 12” passive radiators and others, a 15”. Thanks!

Hi Claudio, my Forte 1s are almost as mint as yours, in oiled walnut, version 2, and I still have the original packaging and literature. Third owner, I bought them in y2k for $660. Note that the version 2 are rated 8 ohms vs the version 1 at 4 ohms. I don't know if there was any real difference in impedance rather than just how they rated it. I converted them to titanium tweeters and tend to agree that the phenolics are a bit sweeter, and will probably switch back eventually. I don't listen to them as often as they deserve as my La Scala bass cabinet-based DIY system is better still in tonality and soundstaging, with huge EV midrange horns, modern pro horn tweeters and an 18" pro cinema sub, all actively DSP multiamped. Some day I'll try actively multiamping the Fortes as I believe they will improve quite a bit by it, though I'm suspicious that the midrange horns' slight "cuppiness" is due to lens geometry and can't be equalized out. Cheers!

The Klipsch forte’ is the first Klipsch speaker to use MDF board. The engineer was Gary Gillum

Thanks for that information but when I bought the speakers, the first thing I did was to take the tweeters out and look to see if that was actually plywood or MDF and sure enough they had layered plywood I don’t know if that’s just the fronts of the speaker or the whole speaker but from what I saw they are plywood thanks again.

Try some quicksilver amps on them if you want to step into the music

No offense, but this room is small for real La Scala or even Forte appreciation. We all have our speaker love and limitations of space. I have no house. I make do with a 14 x 13 living room in a one bed and that is my theater. I am selling my bigass couch to make room for a second pair of Forte' I's as my surrounds. I want complete timbre matching. My Dad's Forte's I inherited are MINT. I live in West Hollywood and walk to work, so this is my car money. Home theater gives me and the gal joy.

The room is actually bigger than it looks it is 30X28, Thanks for your input.
