Context post- Hermes feels inferior in the episode and decides to get an upgrade with robotics after he and his wife are attacked by roberto in the park and saved by robo cop. He realizes how superior machines are to flesh and gets addicted to getting upgrades slowly replacing more of his human parts with robot. Zoidberg has been collecting his discarded human parts slowly assembling them back into a Hermes doll. Eventually Hermes-bot has only 1 human part, the brain, and decides to finally replace it. Unfortunately the robo brain He gets is that of Robertos who was recently given the death sentence. Hermes forces zoidberg to perform the surgery to replace his brain with robot one but zoidberg’s claws are to clunky so he uses his Hermes corpse doll like a puppet and puppeteers it to do the surgery while singing an epic music number. After the surgery is complete roberto takes over the upgraded hermes bot body while zoidberg puts the brain into his hermes puppet which brings him back as a human (hence the weird scars and suture marks all over his body)
