I’ve never heard anyone really go into depth about supplier diversity. I’ve heard a couple of those same statements when connecting with representatives. Sometimes you can’t even get a conversation with them at all even with warm introductions ...so what is the purpose?? Thank you for expounding on that!
That’s a great question. If you google vector contract for 25 billion you will see that there are 68 companies listed. If you look and Google the companies names with consulting on the contract. And it seems almost all of them do supply diversity
@@Mdieiwnsndke Yes they claim they do supplier diversity however some of them basically have a vendor portal for no reason. They’ll rarely reach out to micro small businesses for contract work. They will sometimes tell you to contact the larger “tiered” companies they’re already partnered with to be a subcontractor with them.
She's the best. Winning more than $1.2 billion in contracts for her current firm, I think she knows a thing or two about government contracting. govcongiants.com/podcast/014-2/
learnt a from lot this podcast. The most important part in the podcast was - she said the potential contractor needs to give the vendor/manufacturer something they don't have; knowhow or certification etc.
Thank you sooo much for the information provided. I have been trying to figure out what direction to go as a new consultant and I am glad small business was discussed. I recently left the DOD and was thinking the small business route I now understand the stop gap and will work to fill that gap with value. Just need assistance understanding sub contracting and making connections with large companies/organizations.

I wish it was that easy. When you do it and it works, come back and share.

Great lesson learned ... but remember a certification has little value to the person who doesn't know how to utilize it
