  • Installing the PERRIN Pitch Stop Brace on my 2018 WRX. The OEM pitch stop brackets on the 2015-2017 WRX/STIs are prone to cracking. This pitch stop brace (not to be confused with the pitch stop mount) will help prevent it from failing. If your car has supporting mods such as the Group N Transmission Mount, Pitch Stop Mount, or any other parts that “stiffen up” the chassis, I highly suggest installing the pitch stop brace as those parts put a lot of stress on the OEM pitch stop brackets. My car is equipped with these parts so I went ahead and installed the brace to be on the safe side!

    I have always called them crows feet wrenches? Seems like a no brainer mod honestly. That would be a nightmare if that pitch stop location broke. I always enjoy your content dude, its always top notch!

      @@ronfromportland We had a warm day in NY yesterday so I went out and got it done! Took me three hours. Your video helped so much it made the process really easy to follow and understand. Now I just need to bleed my clutch because I ran out of daylight yesterday.
      Thanks again!

      My 2016 wrx broke off my firewall 😭 wondering if it's worth trying to weld it back on, then add this on or rely the brace itself? 🤔

    Great stuff! Keep it up. I like the little details you include in your videos such as the banjo bolt order, torque specs, and tips to keep the nut from falling into the engine bay. An ACTUAL walkthrough without having to cross check info and small details that add up to extra time. I appreciate it! I have a group n transmission and pitch stop, transmission bushings, weighted knob, oem short shifter, shifter slop brace and poly bushings. It still honestly shifts like poop and half the time it feels like I’m kinda forcing the shifts (daily driving shifts). I have an 18 wrx and something squeaks every time I press the clutch. Only 21k miles. Prob throw out bearing dry. I also never felt the clutch engagement was linear so I think I’m gonna get a ss clutch line next. This video will help. Did you notice any different clutch engagement with the ss clutch line? Do you know if the stock hard/rubber line has a clutch delay/restrictive valve? I’m thinking this may be part of my problem. I couldn’t find a definitive answer on forums. Thanks!

      @ronfromportland  3 роки тому

      Thanks so much! I spend the extra time to include this information because I consider them to be the paint points that most instructions tend to miss. Thank you for noticing! That squeak is “normal” and mine has it too. I suggest putting some lube on the rubber part (I can’t remember what it’s called right now but it’s the piece near the bleeder valve that moves in and out when the clutch is engaged/disengaged). Have someone press the clutch in while you lubricate that part. The squeak disappears but it unfortunately returns over time. I’m not sure if the stock rubber line assembly has a restrictive valve but judging from the multiple angles and pieces it has, I wouldn’t be surprised. The SS clutch line made the clutch feel a little better (smoother thrust) but nothing too noticeable. I hope this helps!

      @@ronfromportland thanks for the reply! I believe you are talking about the ball on the slave master cylinder (where the bleeder is connected to). I’ve been lazy to pull the TMIC but maybe soon! I’ll prob order a ss clutch line and then try lubing this. Keep up the good work and hit me up if you wanna cruise around or meet up. -Ryan(fromNEportland)

    Is this an issue with the 2021 STI? I just picked up a Perrin pitch stop and came across this issue.

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  2 роки тому

      Hey man. The 2018’s and up already have the reinforced pitch stop brace. I only got this brace for my 2018 WRX as a precaution. It for sure can’t hurt to have, especially with an aftermarket pitch stop.

    Hey man mine just snapped I have a 17wrx but I’m tuned should I call the Subaru see if they can cover it or should I weld it and get the bracket ? What are some symptoms when I take turns mine feels like shaky and making noises like I can feel the whole front move lol

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  Рік тому

      Did the actual brace snap or just the pitch stop? You’ll know if it’s broken. There would be excessive vibrations.

    • @tothemoon5770
      @tothemoon5770 Рік тому

      The brace snapped it’s holding a lil barley but I can feel all types noises and when I do sharp turns that’s when I can feel it more but I’m thinking just Welding it and than order the Perrin brace with a Perrin pitch stop and go from there

    • @ronfromportland
      @ronfromportland  Рік тому

      @@tothemoon5770 there is a TSB for that pitch stop bracket. I’d let the dealer fix it and then install the pitch stop brace for a piece of mind.
