@zumis1011 I think you’ll find there isn’t much difference between crocodiles and cats. Both are equally willing to bite the hand that feeds them.
@@noonenowhere877 lol I think you'll find there's plenty of difference as well. Cats can't flatten a ham with one chomp
Imagine looking at a grainy old black and white photo of him and his capturers from 1903 - all of them dead and long time gone - and here he is right in front of you like it happened yesterday! What a beauty! :O
Wow, would love to see that if it exists.
What a magnificent creature. Wishing Henry so many more years of life.
Well there are giant tortoises that are around 200 years old so you never know...
Mind that Henry was large enough to be a maneater already in 1903, when he was caught. That's also why the narrator said "more than 120 years old".
I wouldn’t be surprised if he was 30 or 40 when he started eating people. My personal estimate is close to 150 years old.
@@JackieOwl94 Based on what?
@@simonmackenzie8571Exactly.People love to embellish.🤭

@@simonmackenzie8571 classic trust me bro moment.
Even if he was born in 1903, he would be "more than 120 years old," so no, that is not why the narrator said that. I'm not disagreeing with your statement that he was large enough to be a maneater, I'm just saying that your second sentence isn't true because even if he was a baby in 1903, he would be over 120 years old.
I saw this guy when I was just a kid at Crocworld in South Africa. I'm 32 years old now and it's crazy to think he's been alive 4 times my entire lifetime at this point.
Looking at Henry, you can see why crocodiles may have inspired legends of dragons.
But they don't fly do they so doubt it
Godzilla
er no...there is NOTHING about a croc that is remotely dragon like, come on now
Dragons are archetypal creatures. Every culture has them and they are always a mixture of features from he things that scared our direct and evolutionary ancestors such as large snakes, birds of prey, big cats and probably crocodilians as well.
Dragons existed
You cannot say it's the oldest croc.....unless you've searched every inch of this earth which you haven't
Oldest on earth we humans are aware of. He the oldest boy we humans know of
The title should say - Oldest in Captivity.
Henry is such a magnificent animal. I'm glad he is living out his life on a sanctuary rather than in the wild because, despite the obvious drawbacks, he is safe from human predators.
Human predators wouldn't be what kills him
@@sopronunciareglignocchi7255nah they do some humans shot and hunt crocs and sell them it's illegal but still ppl do that
And humans are safe from _him_ just as importantly.
Yes, definitely Henry would have been killed by now. Sadly, a 60 year old croc was recently euthanised in Australia because he ate a doctor. The croc was known in the area, but the bank the doctor was standing on gave way, and the crocodile ate him in front of his wife and two children. A very awful and sad story, but I think killing the crocodile was too much. After all - his lunch just fell down in front of him

He was man-eater.That means at that time he must have been atleast 5 to 6 years old. He was caught in 1903. His right age may be 129years at the time of shooting of this video.
I mean who knows how old he was when he was caught? He could be 5 or 6 as you have stated or may be even 10 or 12. To me he looked like 140 year old grandpa.
@@pratikroy227 yes indeed
Why was he eating man only??? And not a woman ... I'm curious now
We need more gender equality in crocodile related casualties. I also read that for each 100 men eaten by lions only 75 women get eaten. We still have work to do.
He was probably about 30 years old when caught in 1903, so born around 1870?
Whenever I see a croc documentary I always imagine how it would sound if Steve Irwin were in it. That’s a legacy.

Sir Henry is too old to swing around and catch anyone that isn't a sloth even tortoises are faster than his reaction time now. it's fine though he is now 130 odd years old.
@@pratikroy227I’ve seen a 5m croc before being fed at a zoo in Broome, I can tell you they can move a lot quicker than you think. They can live this big and old in the wild and they catch their food..
they say there are 4 terms that even the greatest of the greatest predators fear
australian man florida man wildlife cameraman and this guy
That "safe zone" is actually the most UNSAFE place to be most of the time as they can whip around in the blink of an eye and absolutely hate to have their back end touched, so I have no idea why they would say that! Young crocs and gators around 5-6 feet long are generally faster and more reactive than larger ones, but I still wouldn't trust that, especially with a Nile croc! It must be him in particular.
