I used to work in a cabaret club and they'd have big shows, the night before they'd have Sunday lunch the next day , sometimes I didn't bother going home because by the time you finished clearing up , it wasn't long till you had to be back in work, sometimes id stay and take a fresh uniform with me and just work through , I loved that job , you got to meet all the acts and sometimes we'd have a lock in after work and the groups or comedians would stay .🙂 Met a lot of legendary people (a lot are no longer with us ).
That's wonderful how the people took down decorations and set up for church. I was a janitor at a church and a few times had to undecorate after a Saturday wedding. I knew to check three hours ahead of time. Many Saturday meetings left a mess or their unsupervised children made disasters of the basement Sunday school rooms.
Ah I know the area you’re in here Imo. Several churches were sadly destroyed in Swansea during the war. My maternal grandparents lived in Clydach, Swansea. They could see Swansea getting bombed from their house several miles away. The sky was lit 🔥 up due to the many fires.😞 On a more positive note, you sounded great with the band.❤ I did chuckle at your Monroe moment. 😆
