Hey, they actually say about the TPU soles that storing them actually causes them to degrade more quickly because the molecules are stagnant and become "inactive" and therefore "loose" so the best way to keep them "active" is to just wear them! :) I love my redbacks, wear them at least 5-6 days a week standing on my feet all day. Great non-slip soles especially because I work in hospitality where food and liquids are spilt all the time.
@@hp2008 I dont know why youd need to buy 10 pairs. They should last years even if you wear them regularly. I have 2 pairs that I just switch up from time to time. By the time they are worn out I should have enough saved to afford another pair haha. If you're looking to stock them for retail sale, I guess just try not to overstock! Good luck
@@hp2008 do you own a pair yet? They ARE awesome! Not that I can predict the future but I feel like they'll be around for a while, they've got a contract with the australian defence force to manufacture their boots, and since other brands have relocated their production offshore redbacks are only growing in popularity to become the boot of choice. I've got hope! Haha
Haven't found anyone who's worn this in the hospitality and kitchen. I've had blundstone for last 4 years as a daily in a kitchen. EMT guys gave been raving about these and wondered how your experience is with them from longterm use and stationary standing.
Just got myself crazy horse or banana suede Bobcats. They rock! Really comfy, long lasting and nice looking boots! And that ECCO Track's protector print on outsole is one of the best for all around usage.
7 plus years in my redbacks and the soles sprung a leak. I wore mine every day all year round. I can send you pics of them on IG. I still wear them for yard work. Spray that neoprene with silicone or camp dry.
I wear my Australian made Rossi 301 during the Aussie summer. Very comfortable even in the extreme heat. If you have an issue with sweaty feet, use an antiperspirant spray.
I have a pair of Redback UBOK that I've had for around 7 or 8 years and they are still going strong. During the wet and cold period 6-8 months per year they are used almost every day. The rest of the year they are not used.
Redback boots are the most comfortable boots on the market. Way better boots than Blundstones, Steel Blue's, Olivers etc. I just wish that they made a narrower shape for more a office look.
david sandlin I agree but when they go they really let loose. I was walking in my office and it looked like someone spilled toner from the copy machine. Black material falling out and the soles just deflated.
ecksdog yeah that’s really weird. It’s like they have a built in time bomb to force you to buy new boots after a certain time no matter how much use they have actually had.
Bought very similar Redbacks, but Puma Brown model. Wear them for about half a year in Russian north-west climate, and I think it's the most comfortable boots I ever worn. After that I bought 2 pairs more - for my girlfriend and for my best friend, and they are both satisfied with that. Also have Blundstones 550 for 4 years. They are a bit less comfortable, but very well made and reliable. Also tried Australian made Rossi Boots Endura 303. Very uncomfortable and poor made, unfortunately. Good luck with your new Redbacks.
the Redacks are the most comfortable boot, fit in like glove and unlike Blundstones no need to brake them in they are durable and well made and will last as long as other boots.. and is usually the soles wear out before anything get cracked and the neopren comes out but they are still wearable... they only thing is you cant wear them out as casual boot something you do with Blundstones as they have few styles to choose
Hmmmm. I used to own a pair of Rossi Endura 303. I wore the pair for 11 years. Used it for work, in the garden and for casual wear. What gave up was that the sole began to crumbled. I don't why your pair was uncomfortable or poorly made. You should've contacted Rossi or taken the pair back to the retailer. I have now purchased a pair of Rossi Endura 301 three years ago. Still holding up with the hard yakka. Anyway, you're happy in wearing the Redbacks. That's all that matters. Ditto with the Blundstone 550. Though they are not Australian made. Mongrel is another boot brand that is made in Australia. Taipan used to be a great Australian boot company that recently went out of business. What sets the construction of the boot is that the sole is made of Dual Density Rubber. That means the sole will not crumbled over time. The disadvantage is that the boot is heavier. I had a pair of Taipan 3071 Steel capped boots. Each boot weighed 850grms. I recently removed the steel caps, which brought the weight down to under 700grms per boot. I still wear them, as the boots are very durable and comfortable. I only purchased a pair because they were going cheap. Not a bad price for a quality Australian made work boot. empaust.com.au/taipan-3074.html
You made a definitive assessment which I had hoped terafanatic would. Instead he hadn't worn the boots much less tried them on for comfort. He wasted time talking about what he hoped for instead of his experience wearing the boots! Thank you for your articulate insight.
Heck yeah super comfy. I spent the extra $25 on the leather Insole and let me tell you after 3 weeks or break in the mold to your foot like a glove. No joke. Toe guards are my next purchase
Best boots in the World. Made in AU, better quality than Blundstones. So totally comfortable. 3mm leather, compared with 2mm leather with Blunnies. Redbacks are the best boots ever. Your Redbacks will out last you, even if you are 12 years old.
Try Taipan 3071 steel capped boots. The sole is made of Dual Density Rubber. Each boot weighed 850grms. I only purchased a pair, because they were going cheap, due to the company going out of business. Not a bad price for a quality Australian made work boot. empaust.com.au/taipan-3074.html
Yep! Aussie made work boots are almost tough as nails. Forget the Blundstones. The quality is not there anymore. The Tassie made Blundstone boots I purchased 15 years ago was a better quality and a more durable boot. Rossi, Redback, Mongrel and Taipan are good Aussie made boots. If you want a super comfortable boot, go for Redback. If you want a comfortable and durable boot go for any of the rest.
I’ve had bluestones that have held up through brutal construction conditions and lasted 3 years- I wonder if different models are manufactured in different factories? I’ve always ordered the winter version with the sheepskin footbed and thinsulate layer in the uppers and they have been awesome. I’m a boot snob, other than blundstones, my best experience so far has been with Thorogoods . . .
@@terafanatic nice one, watched it 👍🏽. The Nevada/ Great Barrier Redbacks are even nicer. I have your ones too and wear those at my Fire Station. But everywhere else I wear my Nevada's. Good vids. Take care.
To make an equal comparison to Blundstone is a discredit to Redback. One is a genuine Aussie boot with thicker, 2.7mm leather, with double-stitching throughout; the other is more flimsy and made in either Vietnam, China or Thailand. I have a pair of steel-toe Redbacks which are virtually bullet-proof and amazingly for a geuine work boot feel like trainers on my feet. The only pair of Blundstones which have lasted as long came out of the Hobart factory in 1993... which speaks volumes about they way they used to be made. So, to claim 'both are basically the same' is not correct. Not a good review imo, sorry.
I wear the living shit out of my Blunnies, and I get 4 ish year out of them. Still not impressed with the cheap leather. On my third pair over 14 years. Never had a prob with the soles. Giving these a try because they look like better traction, softer step, and better leather. Oh yeah, and still made in OZ and cheaper. And not every poser hipster wearing them, which I don't really care. Funny, I got made fun of for wearing Blunnies a decade ago. Same people now all have them.. And fyi, I use them for work in the AZ summer. They're the coolest boot known. Think it's cold in the outback? OZ chelsea's are cold in the winter. You need a size up and thick socks.
You should at least wear and try the product out before you give it a negative review. What you read and what you experience will result in a more justifiable review. That’s why I gave a thumbs down 👎🏽. Your review was based on another review vs your own experience by wearing the boot. You said you want a boot hat would last you at least 5 years. Well next time wear the boot and I would probably guarantee that these boots would last that long.

They're a much tougher boot than a blundstone. They survived a chemical spills and arborist work. Mine were only a soft toe at that.
I had several pairs of red backs. Very comfortable. After approx 5 years the sole disintegrated and black stuff stared flowing out.
