Brother and sister?! Mind blown! I absolutely adore your trying out videos together!
Haha yep! Lots of people think we are a couple! 😂 thank you Danielle
Danielle Christie me too I thought they were a couple!
I thought a couple or best friends... I didn't know they were siblings!
@@ThisWithThem Before I thought you were a couple, until the last video I watch you said about you're dad loving the spicy chips, and that how I finally realized.
Hello from the Potato State. The Idaho Spud is a candy bar made by the Idaho Candy Company. It has been produced since 1918 and is distributed throughout the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The wrapper of the product bears the slogan "The Candy Bar That Makes Idaho Famous." The bar's inventor, Thomas "T.O." Smith founded the Idaho Candy Company in 1901, and went on to create numerous confectionery concoctions such as the Old Faithful Bar (1925) and the Cherry Cocktail Bar (1926). The Idaho Spud is in the top 100 best-selling candy bars in the Northwest United States.
In the NW we think the spud bar is CRAP
Im fro. Idaho too lol
I like Idaho Spud. Not as much as I like mountain bars though.
The sibling love makes my heart so warm!! You guys seem like best friends too, love it!!
I feel like an idiot because I didn't know y'all were brother and sister until this video🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️I just figured you were best friends or married.
full0fw0nder me too lol , and this is my 7th video had no clue
If you go to the Northwest the main types of food, or specialty, is seafood. Specifically salmon and Dungeness crab but you can get all kinds of fresh seafood from halibut, oysters, Alaskan king crab, and many more. If you love seafood and beautiful mountains right by the sea then Seattle is for you.
Jeffery Parks sounds like Paradise
It is. I'm a Portland, OR native. Although I've lived all over the U.S., I came back here nearly 20 years ago and this is where I'll die.
I am from Washington State. I was born and raised here.
im from spokane, not a big fan of huge citys but i dont like small towns, so spokane is the perfect mix even if it a little bit on the bigger side.
I from Yamhill county hear Portland, OR. Here in Oregon wine country are produce is so amazing. I have lived all over the west coast and Alaska. I am happiest I NW OR and SW WA.
I share spoons and things like that with my siblings as well! It's really not a big deal lol! I still want to see you two try chips or "crisp" from around the world!
Yeah we don’t see it as a big deal at all! We really need to make this happen. That would be awesome
The majority of these aren't available all over the U.S. That was a good representation, but there are so many other things from the Pacific N.W. You may need another box... :) I'm still amassing stuff to send!
Ah no way! That is very kind of you, thank you 💕
Send her a tin of Almond Roca.
@@nickkinler8547 They had that in the box! Send them Cashew Roca and all the other Roca flavors! Also the other candy that the Aplets and Cotlets people make. Send them some Boehm's candy from Issaquah, Wa. It's too bad that we can't send them some of our Snoqualmie Ice cream!
send some Johnson Candy Company sea salt caramels! Or open face caramels.
I lived in the Seattle area for over 21 years, and recognized the candies immediately. Aplets & Cotlets are very big there, and we actually drove to the Almond Roca candy store in Tacoma several times, since my hubby is a big candy lover. If you want to try very good licorice/chocolate candy, try licorice lentils. They're very hard to find now, but still available on the web here and there. They are very much like M&Ms, but the candy shell is licorice flavored. Delicious!!
Ah no way! That’s so lovely. I wish I could go visit the almond roca store 😍 oh wow they sound interesting. Thank you for letting me know ☺️
Pacific Northwestern here too! I just drove past the aplets and cotlets building the other day! I really wanted to stop. But we were done in the car.
okay i live in the pnw too but isn’t almond roca like everywhere in the us? lol
Yes, but it's manufactured in Tacoma, Wa by the Brown & Haley co. They also make the Mountain Bars. :)
No way!!!
From the Northwest here. Tim's chips are the best.
They were delicious 😋
Ami Saylor I know!!! My favourite is the Maui sweet onion
The dill pickle ones are soooooooo good! And they do special batches as well that are limited!
the sea salt is where its at boys
Jalapeño all the way!! They used to sell a lemon flavor but discontinued😭😭😭😭!!!
Me: 2 years later😶
"We're brother and sister." You just blew alot of people's minds!!
Haha so many people think we are a couple 😂😂
Woohoo!! I'm from Oregon..pacific northwest rocks!! 💖
Elizabeth Pykkonen I’m from Oregon too
Me too! 😊
Bend!
Are you partly finnish?? Im from Finland.
@ I'm not but my husbands family is finnish
We lived in the PNW (Pacific North West) for 3 years and I would go back in a heartbeat! When I think of main cuisine it is definitely centered around fish. The freshest, most amazing fish I have ever had was in the PNW (specifically Salmon).
Oh cool! Didn’t think it would be fish, that’s nice to know ☺️ thank you
InTheKitchenWithKate you’re welcome!
InTheKitchenWithKate I'm from the Washington coast, and we are a salmon culture. Come on over, we'll feed you some good salmon, some great halibut, clams, and other sea goodies....
Then comes the good sweets.
As much as I did love the fish while I lived in Seattle, since I am from Arizona the thing that really amazed me was how FANTASTIC the fresh, local, seasonal produce was. I had some fruit that made me think I could give up candy if I could have fruit like that every day. Then I moved back to AZ. Candy companies have nothing to worry about.
K P as someone who moved from Washington to Arizona, I totally agree. I miss the availability of Farmer’s Markets, too!
The last thing you tried is from Theo chocolate in Seattle! They have an amazing chocolate tour of their facility where you can walk through and get samples throughout! They also have free samples all throughout their store which is adjacent to the facility. They have thousands of combos of delicious chocolates! Super hard to find in the rest of the US.
Oh cool! If i ever visit i'll definitely have to do that! Would love to try the other combos!
I'm from Idaho and absolutely love Idaho spuds. The stuff in the center is a marshmallow and I honestly don't like coconut but it works with that candy. It's exciting to see it here.
I thought it was a marshmallow. Thanks for clearing that up!
I love the relationship that you and Alex have as brother and sister. I wish me and my brother were as close as the two of you
Thank you Samantha! ♥️ hopefully one day you can! Relationships always change
I am from NY, and I wished I could have had anything from that box, it all looked good, but I love dark chocolate & coconut.
It was so good! Hopefully you can try some of these treats at some point!
Another thing that's really big in the northwest (idaho specifically) is huckleberry flavored candies and things. Have you ever tried huckleberry? I'd love to send you guys some things.
No never!! That sounds so interesting. Would love to know what that tastes like!
It's a berry similar to a blueberry but tastes very different. I'll have to see about gathering some things to send!
Im from Idaho! And I love huckleberrys.
There is a wonderful huckleberry coating for popped corn. Amazing! Huckleberry nearly between a mild BlackBerry and blueberry flavor.
OMG yes, huckleberry everything is huge.....huckleberry ice cream, lemonade.....bbq sauce! PNW fav!
You're exactly right. The "cherry" flavor you typically get in candy is very artificial and medicine-y -- but fresh cherries, dried cherries, and cherries in pie are all quite good!
I’m from the US east coast and I’ve never seen any of these products. I want to try them now though! Lol
I'm from the East too and I've seen like one thing out of all of them lol
Sharing utensils and food with friends or family is fine! People are so afraid of germs they're creating a problem.
Very true!
Obviously don’t share food/utensils with people who are sick or if your immune system isn’t working but other than that it’s definitely fine
Very true!
haha
Haha true. I do that sometimes with my bf lol
I'll never get bored of these videos!
Yap thank you Mahdi!
Glad you got to try an Idaho Spud...always been one of my favorites. They're made in Idaho, a state famous for its potatoes, also known as "spuds."
Shout out from another viewer from the great PNW! (Spokane, WA) Yep, I know all of these! So glad you guys got to try them😊
I’m from Oregon! I’ve seen some of these. Some I haven’t. Only thing I’ve had is the Almond Roca. Grew up on those!! Love them!
Funny story, most of my life (I’m 31 now) my mom thought my grandma’s (her mother-in-law) favorite treat was Applets and Cotlets. So every holiday and birthday she gave grandma some. It wasn’t until I was an adult that Grandma finally said she wasn’t a fan of them and wondered why my mom kept giving it to her.
I feel for your grandma, those are a love or hate confection. I'm the hate side of that spectrum.
Those almond roca's are amazing! Seems like a few states in the US get those! No way haha thats such a great story! I kind of have something like that with my nana, she keeps buying me these sugared jelly candles which i used to love so she buys them for me every christmas! Don't like to tell her i've kind of gone off them 🙈 haha
InTheKitchenWithKate They have a special place in my heart. I grew up enjoying them with my dad. They were one of his favorite treats before he was diagnosed diabetic and he would always share them with me.
Also a native northwesterner, Portland, and I've been eating Almond Roca since I was a kid in the 50s. My all time favorite candy.
Almond Roca is so good - pretty popular to see them in holiday packaging around Christmas time.
In Portland, OR. The favorite desert here is Marionberry pie!
I live and have lived in the PNW almost my entire life ( a few early years in California ), I recognize ALL of these and love them all. Tim's chips are great but their jalapeno chips are the best! The candies are all things I grew up with and I love them all.
I'm from Seattle..... Tim's chips and Almond Roca are amazing!!!! Almond Roca is really easy to make from scratch and is so yummy. Applets and Cotlets are made in Wenatchee Washington which is know for its Apples.
Almond Roca is incredible!
PNW born and raised living in the Northeast now... This video gave me all the feels seeing the same treats I grew up on ❤️❤️
Yes! Thank you. I’m from Seattle. So happy you got to try our snacks. I’ve tried most of the things in that box. Tim’s chips are very northwest and an everyday type of snack here. Great with beer 👌🏽
Also, if you come to the NW. come try our seafood, wines, beers and cheeses.
Hey!! 😀 we loved the Tim’s!! Will definitely need to try all of that 😍
You need to try chocolate covered potato chips. They are amazing.
Oh wow!!! I reckon I would love those 😍
You can easily make them at home. Take a salted or lightly salted potato chip and dip either half or all of the potato chip into your fav. melted chocolate.
Then you can let the chocolate harden up and then enjoy
I'm from Idaho and love the Idaho Spud bars! It is actually cocoa that you taste in them.
Woo! The PNW is amazing. I live in Washington state. I don't live on the coast next to seattle anymore tho. Tim's are my favorite kind of chips. I love the Salt and Vinegar kind the most. I understand what you mean about the dark chocolate, I can only have dark chocolate if it's with something else like dark chocolate covered blueberries.
almond roca are made in my home town tacoma....oldest candy in the area and they have not changed as long as I can remember and I am on my way to OLD, LOL....AND they are my fav....besides aplets and cotlets, which are from the same company, I am guessing like your turkish delight sort of , but I havent tried turkish delight
Oh wow! Thats so cool. They don't need to change do they! They are just perfect how they are! Totally didn't realise they were the same company! No way, you have to try turkish delight!
aplets and cotlets are NOT from the same company. They're made in Cashmere, over the mountains. I've been to the factory. Also, Johnson Candy Co has been making candy in Tacoma since before Brown and Haley's I think. But, they are old fashioned chocolates, not candy bars.
I’ll never get sick of these! Kate’s face after the dark chocolate licorice LMAO too too good.
Yay so excited for another one of these! Keep em coming! 🙏🏻💜
I live two hours from Seattle and LOVE all of these!
😀😀
I'm from Olympia, WA which is about an hour south of Seattle. I have seen/heard of all of the products you tried. Very fun!
Crazy how you aren’t that far away but have your own set of candy and snacks! Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it
Loved the video guys ! I absolutely love these videos !
thank you for sharing- great show.
I'm from eastern washington, and I've never seen the chocolate cherries. I love Tim's, and aplets and cotlets are made near where I grew up. I haven't had them since I was a kid lol. Theo's makes some crazy chocolates. Almond Roca was one of my absolute faves growing up and still is!
They were pretty yum! Ah no way, thats awesome! I would love to try some of the other flavours of Theo!
The chocolate covered cherry are made in Prosser, small town between Tri Cities and Yakina. 😁 They have table full if samples in their store. 😁
I'm so excited to see this PNW box! Props to whomever sent this!
I love your videos guys!! nice job!
YAY my favorite trying candy/snacks videos ❤️❤️❤️
You guys are great and i enjoy watching your try box videos! lots of smiles from South Africa :)
Another taste testing video! Love it!
Yaaay 🎉😀
Yesss!! I needed this today. Was just thinking how awesome it would be if a new candy video came out soon; and after the terrible day Ive already had, this makes it all better. Thanks guys!!
Ahh yaaay! I'm so pleased we uploaded this yesterday for you! I hope it made your day a little better ❤️
So cool to see you try stuff from my state. Almond Rocco is my favorite. Theo chocolate comes in a lot of different flavors, soooooo good. Applets never a fan of them. Rocco and applets are very old candies, been around for many decades. So glad you liked a lot of the items from here.
I have lived in the North West for over twenty years, my favorite flavor of Tim's chips is Pickle". Applets and cots and almond roca are a big deal especially around Christmas. I lived just a few miles from applets and cots and had a tour of their factory. Thank you for being you!
I am born and raised in Seattle. I have had most of these items. I love the cherry mountain bar the best. Most of these items are readily available here. Love your tasting videos.
Hey Kimberly! We love Seattle treats. You are very lucky 😀 than you ☺️
OK, I've heard of Mountain bars, and my first thought was that they would be cherry, so I'm not crazy (well, not about that)
Also aplets and cotlets are from Cashmere, Washington. I grew up 20 minutes from there. We used to tour the factory as a field trip in elementary school.
Almond Roca is my absolute favorite!! I lived near Seattle for 8 years. Live in Florida now and you can get Almond Roca here as well.
I love any of the tasting videos. It's fun to see someone's reactions to thing I love.
Thank you Marissa! I’m so pleased you do ☺️
Wow .what a great box .
North Bend Washington here.. I would say the Pacific Northwest is a must see. From the Pacific Ocean, to the mountain ranges and our own desert. Its a beauty unlike any other.
I live in Texas and I've never heard of any of those. Very, very cool.
Im trying to think of things Texas has that other places dont
Yay new candy vid. Love your channel 😃.
I’m from Oregon and love seeing you try something from my area. I’ve tried almost all of what you did!
I found this page and I have binged watched so many of your videos. Now I just needs snacks!!
You're siblings. Thaf clarifies and simplifies so much. Thanks! Love both of you.
I'm from the northwest! Loved seeing you guys try things I can't imagine not finding at every local store! That box did a pretty good job capturing the sweets and savories of the greater Seattle area!
Great video guys, I love how different things are from various regions! I’ve never seen or heard of any of those things but I’m southern born and bred. I used to think it was quite weird how y’all take bites off the same piece and share everything but now I just think it’s sweet. Y’all have such a great relationship and dynamic.
Idaho spud, 1 of my childhood fav’s. Not so much as an adult.
Love your videos💕
Oregon! Love these sweets and snacks. My fav is the Tim's chips and Almond Roca. Yummmmmm
Great box! I've only been to Seattle once (NY girl) but I did try Tim's. They are some delicious chips! Also, this last British candy box we got from you guys was our favorite so far. The Cheddar Onion Crisps and peanut butter Kit Kat were amazing! ❤😋🍫🤗
Ah no way, thats awesome! I'm actually visiting NY in December! Need to make sure i pick up some treats when I'm there! Ah no way yay that makes me happy! So pleased you enjoyed it
I live in Eastern WA and have tried all of these products!!! Love that you are getting try our local favorites. Almond Roca...my all time favorite candy!!! Addictive for sure!!
I’m from California, went to college in the Midwest, and currently live in Boston and I’ve never heard of any of those treats, so definitely a regional box!
Born and raised in Seattle and have had all of those items. They are all readily available in the supermarkets. Salmon, clam chowder and dungeness crab are a few of our restaurant specialties in the PNW. Desserts such as cobblers with cherries or blackberries and creme brulee. Great video!
Perfect thing to watch as I finish packing for moving day at school
Growing up near Seattle, we ate Tim’s Cascade chips everyday. Soooo good! We also had Applets and Cotlets every Christmas and I can’t tell you how many times I toured the Theo’s chocolate factory when company came to town. At restaurants, always order the Alaskan Salmon and if you can get a dessert with blackberries, it’ll be the best thing you ever had! Loved his video so much. Karl put together a great box!
In Australia we have a type of lolly called bullets, they are little pellets of black licorice covered in chocolate. So good! You can also get red licorice covered in white chocolate.
Kate, I crack up every time you bite into something & say “Oh, wow!” 😂
Hello from Tacoma Washington! I am about 45 minutes south of Seattle. Home of Brown and Haley. Thank you for enjoying our sweets from my state.
I'm from Oregon and grew up on Mountain Bars. They where sold at a local membership store (Bi Mart). Every time my Mom took me it was a special treat. The peanut butter is my favorite. There use to be a cherry flavor also.
Hi, love your channel!! I'm from Idaho and the Idaho spud bar is a local favorite, actually made in Boise!! Love them!!
Awesome
I grew up in Idaho, but I have since moved away. Idaho Spud is one of my favorites and I get one when ever I see them, because it gives me a piece of home. I'm so glad you guys tried one. I have been wishing you would.
I’m in the Oregon area which is NW but below Washington. A lot of things I haven’t tried except the Almond Roca and the tims potato chips
Love, love, love Almond Roca and haven't been able to get them since I moved from Vancouver, Washington! Yum!
I was on the edge of my seat when you pulled out the Idaho Spud. I am just glad you didn't completely hate it. HELLO FROM IDAHO! P.S. call it shredded coconut it might taste better or just dust it off.
I’m from the Central Valley of California. So watching these videos is really cool cause we don’t have many things specifically from this area
So crazy! I was eating Tim’s yesterday and thinking you need a PNW (Pacific North West) box! Less than 24 hours later you post this gem! Carl did a great job picking local goods.
No way haha!! What a coincidence 😀 they were delicious. I’m jealous of you eating them yesterday 😆
Kate! I love your videos I watch them all the time and I especially love your candy tasting from around the world! It makes my mouth water just watching 😍 I’m from the other side of the world in little ol’ New Zealand. Have you ever tried any New Zealand treats? If not, I’d be happy to send over a few of our best, kiwi classic treats!
Keep being you and making such amazing videos ❤️
I'm from California, and we get Almond Roca all the time. It's also a traditional Christmas candy. I've had Idaho Spud, but it's not something we see very often. Aplets and Cotlets are also a Christmas treat.
I love these tasting videos 👍🏼
Yaay thank you 🎉🎉
Just got my candy box today I'm so excited to try it!
Ahh yaaaaaay!!! I hope you love it 😀
I was born in Seattle and live in Tacoma now. Great box that was sent to you and love your videos!
Nice box Carl! It brought back my childhood. 😊
I’m from Salem, Oregon which is the state just south of Washington where Seattle is. I’ve tried all of these except the licorice bar. We buy Almond Roca every year to put in Christmas stockings, as well as Aplets and Cotlets! There are also a lot of hazelnut and walnut candies because they are a major export of our area!
Love the relationship you two have! Now that I’ve watched your other American goody boxes, I know exactly what you’ve been missing. There will be a box coming from me as soon as I can locate all the things I’d love to share with you two!❤️
I am not from the Pac NW but lived there for a few years, I had almost forgotten about Aplets & Cotlets! Some of the things you can get everywhere though, like the Theo chocolate.
I absolutely LOVE almond roca candy! Toffee and almond with chocolate is the best! I'm from the north east coast of USA and I can get roca chocolate here.
I'm from America, and all of the American candies and snacks are delish. :D
G Vids Ikr
So yummy!!!
The face Kate makes after the licorice chocolate was hilarious
Sending love from Boston, Massachusetts. Really enjoyed this video because I’ve never been to the PNW and now I want to find an excuse to :) these snacks look amazing. Not only are your videos INCREDIBLY fun to watch (I’ve pretty much watched all of the American snacks one), they are very helpful for people like me who love trying new snacks ❣️
All the treats are known to me, I grew up in a sm. town NE of Seattle. YUMM!! Chukars are a sm game bird in Eastern Washington. The Orchards there have them along running around as will as other game birds. Cherries are huge in WA, along with Apples and Apricots and, many other fruits and veggies.
I grew up a bit south of Seattle, in Tacoma. My mom used to work at Brown & Haley (where the Mountain Bars and Almond Roca came from) and always came home smelling like that buttery toffee!
You're exactly right: Almond Roca is very old-school. It's been around for about 100 years (and is one of my dad's favorites).
From Eastern Washington! And yes have had everything in your bin!
Your sibling relationship ALWAYS astounds me. My brother’s favorite thing to do is make fun of me! I always wonder if this is just where you’re from, or if it’s just you two! You are always so sweet and kind together!
Haha no way! Yeah we are really lucky that we get on. He does make fun of me sometimes though 😆 ah thank you so much! I do know some other people who really get on with their siblings too but I also know some that hate each other. I really feel like it depends on how much time you spend with each other!
Brothers are REQUIRED to tease their sisters. It's in the contract! 😝
I’m obsessed with you two❤️❤️❤️
