      To be fair it's not really dying, there are still new rock bands coming out and also older ones such as Metallica, staind, godsmack etc that are still making music to this day

      @w.geoffreyspaulding6588 4 місяці тому

      @@gomi350z ah….but the key here is what I said; keeping it in front of YOUNGER audiences. Unless we can do that, then it will eventually become a very niche genre. I’ve been to several rock concerts in the past six months or so, and the average age is 50-60 something…..

    • @gomi350z
      @gomi350z 4 місяці тому

      @@w.geoffreyspaulding6588 average age depends on the band. Dad rock I can see that being 50-60yr old. Meanwhile I've been to breaking Benjamin concert and most of the people were 20-30. And I was at a Godsmack and Staind concert which average was 30-40. Age doesn't have to do with the genre it loosely correlates to the age of the band and when they were at their highest. And rock is a loose term anyway, most bands that would be considered "rock" are actually a form of Metal, i.e late 90s early 2000s "rock" bands are actually classified as NuMetal

      Yeh, me too. I almost cried when I heard them for the first time and I got high listening to "Heat Above", listened to it in a loop for a few days. Honestly at first, I thought it's some 70s or 80s band, but then I also thought if they were, then how come I never heard them before, n I'm 49... When I first heard the opening scream of their first hit song Highway Tune, I was driving, and I almost had an accident….thinking “how is it possible that Zep has a song I’ve missed hearing?” It was uncanny.
    Since then, they have found their own sound… become more prog. Now I hear allot of Geddy Lee in Josh’s vocals. They are a talented young band, and I hope they have a long and bright career.

    Side note: as good as the keys are on this song, Sam also plays incredible bass. And when he is on keys, he plays bass on foot pedals.

    THIS is why I love watching people react to Greta Van Fleet, they all make that face as soon as Josh starts singing and I love it. This really is a special band. Bringing back the lost art of real and classic rock. Hands down my favorite current band. I have never felt the need to want to go to a live concert before I discovered them a couple years ago. I hope you go further down this rabbit hole because they do not have a single bad song. Check out the entirety of “ Battle at Garden’s Gate” or dive into their older stuff starting with their debut album “ From the Fires” ( which is very different from their newer stuff but still good), you will not be disappointed. 😄

    As much as I love "classic rock" of the 60's and 70's, it's in some ways sad listening to the old greats over and over, because there has been nothing new in the rock world since the 90's that really impressed me and made me feel the excitement of hearing a great rock song in the old days...until Great van Fleet. Yeah, I've heard all the criticism. There is hardly any rock music in the charts, and most of the pop/rap sucks. So, to me they are a welcome addition to the groups I like. And, his voice is really great!

Anything you wanna know, hit me up lol That man right there Josh is one of the greatest singers. His range and power are incredible, and he sings perfectly live every night. Jake is a guitar god in the making. They are what everyone else is not in today's music. So, where shall we start...When The Curtain Falls, Safari Song, Flower Power, Broken Bells (Candlelight Sessions), Lover Leaver Taker Believer, Built By Nations, Age Of Man, Mountain Of The Sun, Tears Of Rain, Light My Love, and my personal favorite, The Weight Of Dreams. It has a roaring 7 minute solo at the end it's glorious. Also, they've just put out two new singles coming from their new album coming out in July. Meeting The Master and Sacred The Thread. This sounds very well steeped in 70s style prog rock but they don't sound like they're trying to emulate any particular band other than themselves. The musicality and singing are top notch. You helped me discover a band. Thanks, SalvoG! Interesting how the band are bejeweling their outfits - somewhat like the photographic artist Franz Szony. Total respect. Why not explore bejeweled creativity? David Bowie and Peter Gabriel and Todd Rundgren for a stint did funky things with costumes, makeup, and jewelry back in the day.

    These guys are from Frakenmuth, MI. About 25 minutes from my where i live. Dude sounds like a very young Robert Plant. Crazy vocals!

    Just found them myself a month ago, they are brilliant no doubts , musically they are genius, vocally amazing although its not going to be to everyone's taste but im in agreement when done right sounds amazing the voice on this guy is awesome the pitch the tone the control the range the flow he does it so easy but it sound easy , but not only that the way they put it all together they are very very talented bunch of guy's they're unique or different regardless of the led zeppelin influences they are their own band , its fresh and very creative. To be fair all singers and bands are inspired by ones that have gone before its just natural , so to b fair to these guys it's not fair to say they copy led zeppelin as many say they have a sound if 70 's but they are original all bands have elements of things that inspire them thats natural but these guys are greta van fleet .nuff said

    Please please keep reviewing greta. Start maybe with 'written in gold' (only on youtube and no visuals) - they were only about 17 and younger when they made it at rust belt studios. They were still school kids.
    Thanks for a great review - and welcome to the gretaverse.

    Please! Please! Please! Friend, do your self the biggest favor, ever and listen to them live. Not in a video that you can see anywhere. Find some of their live content you will be 100% blown away! It doesn’t matter which album you choose. Any of them are going to impress you just based on how big your eyes got in the beginning. I could recommend so many… So I won’t because everybody has a different sound that we’re looking for. You will not find one song that you dislike. I promise you! Have fun getting to know Greta Van Fleet! 🎶
    I will mention the concert in Sacramento California in March was amazing and they do perform a few titles from their new album that will be released in July named Starcatcher. But for some thing fun, I’m gonna say check out a festival live and Red Rocks live…Amazing.

    “These guys get into me as much as I get into them, it seems. It’s like a symbiotic, organic, dynamic relationship, the way I’ve evolved in my understanding of these guys and their music.”
    I heard someone say this while listening to GVF and I found it to be an incredibly well put explanation of how this band and their music weaves itself deep into you and the emotional/spiritual impact it has on the soul. What beautiful music!!

    People used to say they were like an imitation of Led Zeppelin. What's the problem with that?
    Though, nowadays I think they've found their "lode", you know what I mean?
    It's delightful to listen to this band, for this last album is something remarkable with good and memorable songs - its closure is a hymn with "The Weigh of Dreams".
    Now we have a new album debuting - I think in July - and I can't wait to see what comes next, 'coz we had a hint with "Meeting The Master", "Sacred the Thread" and "Farewell For Now" and they are absolutely wonderful.
    Well, sorry for my English. I'm from Brazil and looking forward to seeing GVF do a concert here! I'll probably get hoarse for singing all their songs!
