I’ve played before, but I just started a new game on PS4 and did the tutorial for the first time. I leaned about making “piles” and found a glitch where you can make a pile of “coconut drinks.” Then when you take one out you can drink it, put the “empty coconut drink” back in the pile and keep doing that forever and ever. It just keeps refilling them. Weird.
Before you build the water still, you need to build a coconit flask. The coconut flask is good for 1 drink(they can be refilled at the still) and doesn't count as a coconut. So, use it before you build the still

Build your water still (1 coconut flask, 1 frond 1 lashing 1 cloth 3 rocks) Use the excess fronds from the palm trees to fill your water still Woolah, you now have a basic camp set up and is easily accomplished day 1. @@24magiccarrot you say this but if I have 12 coconuts and only need 2 to drink as long as I keep 3 in the pile so when I take two ones left, the two refill, it's an entirely coding related exploit and thus a very good thing to rely on... water stills are just for farming
@@24magiccarrot your method wastes a hell of a lot of my time and effort on something I could of fixed via 3 coconuts and making spears to kill the local sharks... a smoker, fine its almost essential... unless you can scale your islands mountain if you can scale that seagull eggs respawn every 12 hours in game thus infinite food also.
i miss the days when there used to be a bucket in the game. easy water with rain that way. or the early days of distilling water.... ( sigh ) oh well. I may try to play again, but last time, it went wonky on me for loading, like green lines of the 70's bad.
Rain will fill your water stills too on storms. It is a fun game! I wish on multiple players they could join quick. Also i wish in the future they add giant sea clams, lobsters, shrimp. Or make a new boss a giant lobster!! The giant clam shells could be used for collecting rain water, wash basins. And if we had iron ore? Break the shells for lime. In the smelting. In multiple players make 3 4 water catching stills. So you both have plenty.
im trying to play the game and watch you video for help but your talking on and on about your friend to then finally tell me what to do was so helpfull and clearly the best video even know a monkey playing with a fork was more helpful
Never knew rations filled the water bar. I always woke up, filled my water bar by fruit, coconut, or water bar and if I had a big day ahead of me and didn't want to waste time to go hunting or fishing I'd eat a can of pork and beans or some rations. This will save me some time
Another way to get water is to make flask. Fresh coconut + lashing -> coconut flask (level 1 crafting). It's filled with water so it doesn't count towards diarrhea. It is costly but empty flasks can be used in the future for water stills or carrying water.
I wouldn't say it's costly cause coconut flasks are invaluable for making medical supplies. Coconuts are much more valuable being turned into flasks than they are for food or hydration. Once you know what you are doing food and water by other means isn't really an issue after the first day.
@@24magiccarrot coconuts can be as vital to other things as you want if you keep 3 in a chest for the next island you have an infinite water supply however and with eggs on scaleable mountains that respawn every 12 ingame hours gives infinite food and water...
The first and so far only shark I've killed is a goblin shark. But the most persistent and annoying ones so far have been the hammerhead and I think a bull shark.
You'll find there's usually a ledge on the island sharks won't pass, all sharks develop a repetitive swimming pattern whilst aggro on you if you're in that ledge spot they can't hit you thus making them a cakewalk, with a speargun I killed 4 around my second island in one daylight cycle using this method, with spears it takes longer.
First time I played it I got killed by a boar, now on my second run I was poisoned and got lucky enough to find pipi, been living like a king since, got a big hut built, lots of containers, shelter and water stills on all the islands I visited, just trying to find all the bosses now! Update: Killed all the bosses and left the Pacifica, my raft disappeared even though it was anchored and halfway on land, so I started a new game!
Make a stack of 10 drinkable coconuts. Retract 2 drink them place them back in. Retract 2 more out wait 10 seconds and drink 2 more. Rinse and repeat until hydrated. Same can be done when eating coconuts
Console updates will still be coming.. they are still focusing on pc right now with update 78.00 .. they usually jump back and forth between em..at least they have in the past.
@@GranddaddyGamer Intresting! Thanks for information. Game has been so laggy on xbox one sometimes but i still like it hope they just fix some of the bugs
I'm at day nine still on my starter island with a coop teammate and we have a farm water tent and 2 campfire and nearly done with our raft to travel for resources
One tip is once you fill your water still the first time then you only put in what you drink so if you take 2 drinks then put in 2 and you will not waste resources
I just started yesterday. I'm so glad Ive stumbled on these tips. I managed to go for 7 days withy food and water on 2 bars from empty but my health kept declining until I died. Reloaded after finding out needed to have good and water 1 bar from full to start regaining HP. Did not know I could refill the water still. Can I also refill the fireplace?
One tip I'd give is other than to complete the tutorial there really is no need to drink a coconut at all. Unless you need to heal or are planning on doing something risky there really isn't any need to keep your food and hydration levels full, so for the first 2-3 days just keep your food and hydration above 2 bars which gives you plenty time to get your water still up an running with enough fibrous leaves to keep it going, and for the first few refills use fronds to fill the water still. If you must eat/drink for health reasons use the rations in your life-raft to buy you extra time
Here's a really good tip about coconuts the drinkable ones it works on PS4 I don't know about other consoles but if you drink two coconuts and then you hold R1 and make it coconut drink pile they automatically get refilled whenever you put them into the pile
Not gonna lie. Died on day 3 due to dehydration from diarrhea. Game said drink coconuts for water, I said that's a terrible idea, it'll give me diarrhea and dehydrate me even faster. Go figure I was right
i build up to 24 water stills and let the rain fill them never run out of water even for my farms never have to fill with fiber leaves just let them fill up with rain water so there is 6 ways to get water i have 8 farm plots i even stock pile water in clay jugs
So I had a issue...early on in the game I found the ship with the plane...I collected the gyrocopter part and put them on my raft in storage boxes..on my way back to my island I actually fell off the raft.....bye bye raft.....so I swam back to the island and made another raft....to go look for my nice fully equipped raft but unfortunately I couldn't find it so I lost the lot.. not realised that when I went to make the gyro I was missing the parts I need....I had to start the game from scratch.....not happy. I was 68 days in.
That has happened to me before… lost my raft and all my stuff. Since I play like a Gypsy I didn’t have a base. I was not happy to say the least. Did you save your game AFTER you lost your raft?
I can’t remember which one it is but you can also fill a empty coconut or empty coconut flask with water from a water still collector and get one serving of water from it to carry around
If you have a stash of coconuts you can drink them, and re-stash them back in in when empty, and they will fill up again. Endless supply of coconut water
My raft just completely dissapeared from the map. I was stranded by the way out and now have to restart this stinks. That's after I fixed the boat and put the motor on the front. Saved the game then it dissapeared after I turned the game back on today.
I'm not sure if this is a thing. But I noticed I put a water still in a shaded area in the trees vs on the beach it seems I have to fill it less with plants. Maybe I'm trippin but I just started and I got to another island had the idea. Dunno if skills make them work better or what.
I can't find anywhere else to post this question and hope to get an answer. I just switched to playing on PC and I'm still getting used to the controls. Trust me there are only a couple things I miss about the console version and that includes hotkeys taking items out of your inventory slots allowing you to carry more and the other which is seriously killing me. Does anyone know if it's possible to drop items from the inventory menu? I've pressed Q nothing happens I think right now I have to actually put the item into my hand then drop it. This isn't a game changer but definitely was convenient on the console to not have to grab everything you want to drop...
@@GranddaddyGamer I couldn't get it to drop from the menu screen. Try setting the mouse wheel as the drop item key....and you're welcome you can thank me later. DO NOT try to set a mouse button as the inventory menu key. For one the only button you can use to close the menu is the TAB. Deleting that option from the inputs and trying to use a mouse key to open and close the inventory(Radial menu toggle has to be on), gets you stuck in the inventory menu forever, and your character will be stuck on the island with his head in his backpack, slowly dehydrating until he is dead, no coconuts will save him, you just have to close the game and restart or walk into the ocean.
@@GranddaddyGamer I asked Reddit and someone finally gave the answer. If you hold the RMB you can drop items from the inventory without holding the item. Someone on Reddit that had just learned the Q dropped item 😂 Just taught tons of people to press and hold RMB
The spf Isn't going down on ps4 bleeds fast do you have aloe vera on? If you drink 2 coconut wait 10 secs you can drink another however better method 2 stock coconut then add rope to a unchucked coconut then magical turns into water so easy
Recently started playing on the newest version of the PS4 build and I picked up a "Yucca Fruit." I feel that this is a bug. It can't be eaten or interacted with (it appears as modified yucca foliage). Curious.
@@ALAPINO make sure to keep the planters topped up with water too or they will die off, use corrugated or plank planters to hold more water, when it rains they fill up for free also, you can grow pipi too for unlimited antidotes, hunt lion fish for shark repellent too!
It's good and bad advice. First, it's totally true, Fibrous Leaves are replenishable, but lashing is needed so often you probably shouldn't discount Palm Leaves. Outside of making the Still and the Shelter, they have no use at all.
@@Majestichaaland Technically, yes. And in most cases, that's true. Unless you have a large amount of fronds from getting lumber. The fronds are otherwise useless, might as well use them.
No... but you can put a crap ton of water on your raft! I did lol. After this recent update the crates have 5 inventory slots instead of only 3, and I filled one full with the clay jars. That’s 100 servings of water lol.
dont know if this counts as cheating, but if u make a pile of coconuts drink, take two coconuts out and keeping one so the pile doesnt delete, you can drink the two in the inventory and if you put them back into the pile, they will refill to normal hydrated coconuts
i dont think of it as a cheat seeing as its been in the game since PC got piles and the devs have not patched it out. Thank you for the tip for everyone :)

Build your water still (1 coconut flask, 1 frond 1 lashing 1 cloth 3 rocks)
Use the excess fronds from the palm trees to fill your water still
Woolah, you now have a basic camp set up and is easily accomplished day 1.
Day 2-3 spend fishing/hunting seagulls and looting shipwrecks that you can swim to and minimize your water intake until the palm saplings/yucca trees respawn, you'll now have enough food and water to sustain yourself but as soon as you can build a farm plot and plant the yucca fruit that way you aren't having to balance water and lashing making.
thank got someone else knows this exploit i was going crazy trying to find someone who talked about it
@@24magiccarrot you say this but if I have 12 coconuts and only need 2 to drink as long as I keep 3 in the pile so when I take two ones left, the two refill, it's an entirely coding related exploit and thus a very good thing to rely on... water stills are just for farming
So you both have plenty.
you talk not bs and just come right down to the point! luv it. u just got 1 more sub! keep it up bro
I appreciate that!
Thank you so much. Love this game but was spending all my time looking for coconuts and waiting on rain. Had no idea about the palm fonds
Glad to help!
Fibourous leaves really helps.
im trying to play the game and watch you video for help but your talking on and on about your friend to then finally tell me what to do was so helpfull and clearly the best video even know a monkey playing with a fork was more helpful
Glad I could help ... and you'r welcome happy gaming!
Legit the best information video then the others I saw. Love it bro thank you I mean it.
Thank you very much
Are you kidding me they can regenerate!! I've been relying on the damn rain the whole time!!! I had to make 15 of them and took me a lot of rocks!!!
No wonder I’ve been dying from shitting
Make a stack of 10 drinkable coconuts. Retract 2 drink them place them back in. Retract 2 more out wait 10 seconds and drink 2 more. Rinse and repeat until hydrated. Same can be done when eating coconuts
Will there be new updates in stranded deep console? I started playing it few days ago and loving it! Soon my ship is ready.
I also play on console and don't have much left to complete now, great game and can't wait for more
New update came out yesterday allowing co op
You can also get coconut s and make the flask which turns the milk into water and you don't get sick
There is a way to refill coconuts if u have in a pile drink one drop it and drink other then pick up one and put back in pile
yes however this is A bug in the game and may be patched in the future
Yes
@@GranddaddyGamer thanks dude :)
Yes the fire place can be refilled and your water and food must be above half to refill your health
If you must eat/drink for health reasons use the rations in your life-raft to buy you extra time
Hey thanks for the shout out! But idk if you should tell people I'm your friend, it might ruin your credibility.
Lol
I know it's ruined mine :-D
lmao cleo
The perfection of the 2/10 method is beautiful
That "pear" actually filled 2 bars of ur food. It is a solid based food after all.
On cooking level 0, it restores 2 hunger and 1 thirst. As you level up on Cooking, it fills you up and hydrates you more
Here's a really good tip about coconuts the drinkable ones it works on PS4 I don't know about other consoles but if you drink two coconuts and then you hold R1 and make it coconut drink pile they automatically get refilled whenever you put them into the pile
Your videos have helped a ton i appreciate it!
Not gonna lie. Died on day 3 due to dehydration from diarrhea. Game said drink coconuts for water, I said that's a terrible idea, it'll give me diarrhea and dehydrate me even faster. Go figure I was right
I remember this idea from the movie Cast Away. Hank said the same thing.
If you have a big yucca farm and find coconuts annoying you can carry around lashing and craft coconut flasks that start with 1 fresh water by default
Your video was on my stream I was not copying just watching how to get water I have subscribed and I clicked that bell :)
Ty for letting me know ! Hopefully it helped
Thank you that should help. Honestly I was dying on the first island a lot. Maybe I might survive a little longer now. 😂👍
Helpful tip fish are plentiful and easy to find, Hence why you can get a achievement for not eating fish for 10 days
Thank you so much for this!!!
Wish I could turn the hydration and hunger off. I just want to hunt and build. Why they wouldn’t make this an option is baffling
I subbed due to a combination of your name and voice. Looking forward to the content.
i build up to 24 water stills and let the rain fill them never run out of water even for my farms never have to fill with fiber leaves just let them fill up with rain water so there is 6 ways to get water i have 8 farm plots i even stock pile water in clay jugs
Man, thats overpowered. 😂 Business man crashed in his private jet and never stopped taking care of business! 🤣
@@rockabillly88 he gon charge me 30 sticks for water if i find his island 😭
@@itsjawwwny2460 He'll be making trade deals too. "I'll trade you all your potatoes for this awesome yellow raft!!!!!!!!"
Also what you can do with coconut drinks get 3 make a pile drink 2 all they will refill
I can’t remember which one it is but you can also fill a empty coconut or empty coconut flask with water from a water still collector and get one serving of water from it to carry around
this is very helpful thanks
one can also make a coconut flask out of some lashings, that way we get clean water and no diorhea
It's so funny the only thing that keeps on killing me is the hydration and broken bones and crabs and pigs but it's never food
You're a monster! How could you kill a whale shark!? 😰
I miss chucking a bucket into the sea to fill it, and balancing it on a fire to boil it only to knock it over and see it drain into the sand 🤣👍
What a legend! This saved me so gud
I know this is 2 years old but you can use water still(s) when it's storming outside, the rain refills the water still.
Really helpful thanks
Glad it helped
If you have a stash of coconuts you can drink them, and re-stash them back in in when empty, and they will fill up again. Endless supply of coconut water
Just be clear that this is a known bug and may get patched out.
@@GranddaddyGamer I'm new to the game on console, but for now it works 🤷🏽♂️🤣
This game it’s really cool
Unfortunately on ps we have shity islands
I didn’t find something nice
I saw this March 27th. My wife is mad, but that's okay, I know she loves me, and I love her. Cya next time Tenshi ❤
Been playing for a few months and just found out you can fill the water stills
Raft breakdown bug ps4, can't strip the base down with everything taken off. Not sure why
My raft just completely dissapeared from the map. I was stranded by the way out and now have to restart this stinks. That's after I fixed the boat and put the motor on the front. Saved the game then it dissapeared after I turned the game back on today.
If a raft base is connected to another base on more than one side it cant be broken.
This isn't a game changer but definitely was convenient on the console to not have to grab everything you want to drop...
press and HOLD "Q Button"
@@GranddaddyGamer The videos are great btw I subscribed
@@GranddaddyGamer I asked Reddit and someone finally gave the answer. If you hold the RMB you can drop items from the inventory without holding the item. Someone on Reddit that had just learned the Q dropped item 😂 Just taught tons of people to press and hold RMB
The spf Isn't going down on ps4 bleeds fast do you have aloe vera on? If you drink 2 coconut wait 10 secs you can drink another however better method 2 stock coconut then add rope to a unchucked coconut then magical turns into water so easy
keep going
Thank you sir
did you know you can bash coconuts against rocks to break them?
Or hit em with your spear to open them
Recently started playing on the newest version of the PS4 build and I picked up a "Yucca Fruit." I feel that this is a bug. It can't be eaten or interacted with (it appears as modified yucca foliage). Curious.
Plant it to grow yucca
@@GranddaddyGamer I must be doing something wrong with my farming. I'll try again. Thanks, GDG!
@@ALAPINO make sure to keep the planters topped up with water too or they will die off, use corrugated or plank planters to hold more water, when it rains they fill up for free also, you can grow pipi too for unlimited antidotes, hunt lion fish for shark repellent too!
@@Jake3eee They seem to only fill up within draw distance. As long as I'm on the island they do fill up nicely during a storm.

It would be nice if you could Make a water distiller at ocean water
If U spam water still does it ran less ? Or its just random
Why would you spam it? Just put palm fronds and fibrous leaves under it to generate water.
For sure some it’s only letting me drink it once and it’s empty? Is there a way to get multiple drinks out of it?
If you make a pile of coconuts drink two put them back and then there refilled I think it’s broken but it always saves the day
This is a bug that may get patched in the future
Just started this game still figuring it out
I have a ton of guides to help .. feel free to ask if you need anything
Wow I thought the water fill up itself smh I went to check on it damn near every second to lol
Lmfao i was so pissed bc it was taking so long. i had to watch a damn tutorial to figure it out 💀
For those who don't mind exploits take two coconut drink drink them then turn them into a pile then you can drink them again
Facts
I recommend to use fibrious leaves bcause they r eez to find and also respawn
It's good and bad advice. First, it's totally true, Fibrous Leaves are replenishable, but lashing is needed so often you probably shouldn't discount Palm Leaves. Outside of making the Still and the Shelter, they have no use at all.
Nah its a good advise
@@joshc5309 bro u can have infinite young palm leaves for fibrous leaves but if u use palm frond u will run out of wood
@@Majestichaaland Technically, yes. And in most cases, that's true. Unless you have a large amount of fronds from getting lumber. The fronds are otherwise useless, might as well use them.

Yes they move you’ll need anti poison or check my guide on how to outlive it
you can fill an empty coconut from the water still too
Heres me sat here like a jackass waiting for it to rain so the water collectors fill 😂
Dang so I’m guessing there’s no way to put a water source on your raft?
i wish .. i would have build an RV on the ocean lol

I’m going for the platinum achievement on ps4 so I’m just trying to survive long enough to get a lot of trophies in one run
@@GranddaddyGamer update I got the platinum! And since I have the NA version I’m one of the only 200 to obtain it!
No... but you can put a crap ton of water on your raft!
Wait. So you put palm fronds n fibrous leaves under the water still and it will refill ?
Yup
w h a t
I spent so long In my world dying over and over again bc there was no more coconuts and rain never came in the end I ended up starting a new one WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY YSEFUL TO KNOW YOU CAN REFILL IT WITH PALM FRONDs 💀💀💀
Did not know you can add fronds to the still later on..
Yes sir i do
i just realized you can eat the coconut besides drink lol taught it was weird why i couldnt eat it i never tried to cut it,
Thank you so much, these damn coconuts
Darn i was hoping there was gonna b a way to catch the rain cus u know y not. But the fruits i can grow and continually eat so yay
You figure that would be the best and obvious way. Go figure
Its too bad. Originally you had a bucket and you could catch rainwater. Stupid that they got rif of it
Coconut meat isn't coconut milk. Why shouldn't they act differently? That's also true to life. It's referenced in the movie Cast Away - the survivor learns the hard way: coconut is a laxative.
I found this video by typing Stranded deep how to not shit yourself
I didn't knew u can refill water stills so i would just wait untill it rained and had to go to other islands to get coconut cuz my island had ran out of them😂
