  • Oi everybody!
Here's my new video on how to replace your rocker cover gasket on a BMW E46 1.8 liter gasoline.
I did it because my whole engine was covered in a oily mud and I wanted to reach and solve the rooth cause of that. It might be this, it might not, but for sure will get me closer to the rooth cause if it's not the gasket. But considering how much oil was around it, I'm pretty sure this won't be bad for the engine :)
Nice and easy job I recommend you to do in case you see same simptoms over your engine
Keep in mind to torque tighten the gasket otherwise the job is done in vain
    Until next one,
    Peace

Great video, was there any leaks etc after this you did this? I noticed you didnt use any gasket sealant and wonder if its necessary. Thanks

thank you sir for the feedback. no, I had no leaks from the replaced gasket anymore. I am planning to rebuild the engine this summer because it's still "eating oil" and has some visible leak points. So stay tuned for I'll make a series out of it. Peace

I'm having issues with the small half moon which goes at the back by getting caught in the valve tronic pipe or tube, anyone got any tips or suggestions?

Yes, that's a bit tricky. From my point of view you should try wiggle the civer while putting it back. Be patient and make sure everything is well seated before you tight the bolts

@@thecurlyfixingguy7077 thank you, I actually found a new trick, I basically removed the wipers and the covers around the wiper arm controller as if I want to replace it, it gave a lot of space and just made everything so much easier, if only I had figured out this trick long ago, fitting this gasket would be an hour job from start to end 😆

Hey hey, do you mean a web link for the correct gasket to order? Then I can only recommend to order it via a dealer using the serial number of your car/engine

I did this yesterday and after starting the car it shakes very much any reason why?

Hello hello, hmmmm :-? It could be multiple reasons. I would recomend a diagnoze. But make sure you've put back the ignition coils strongly connected. That's just one thing that comes to my mind now. Other thing, spark plugs age :-?. But anyways, keep us posted, would apreciate it

@@thecurlyfixingguy7077 spark plugs are done a few weeks ago, after we started the car it went into limp mode . Do we have to reset the valvetronic motor? If yes how???

@@SpherePK to be honest I never did that but if you say limp mode, then I totally recomend a diagnose and that should narrow down your problem

Liked your video, very informative. The only thing is the music you input between talking is way too loud. I had to volume ++ then volume - - - - - and replay video few times
