Hard to modify?! Dude. I'm at the beginning of a 1st gen odyssey build... in 2020! Talk about hard to source parts. At least upgarage still has parts come thru for the rb1/rb2. Ra1 is nearly extinct.
I live in Japan and have a 2004 Odyssey. There is/was a lot of after market parts for these, I have found lots of HKS and other cool mods for the car on the Japanese Yahoo auction site here. I love my Odyssey, and there are a lot of these here driven by Americans, but I think they are kind of old for Japanese as I haven't seen any locals driving them. They have a radio mod kit so that you can upgrade to a new radio where just the screen was on the top, if you can find the complete kit, you can also remove the center controls and there is a storage box to replace the head unit down below.
@Andrew Brohnson I've seen turbo kits, but nothing recently, but they do exist. I installed a Pioneer NEX unit in mine with a nice remote, but couldn't get the steering wheel to work. If you have the full unit with the amp under the seat, that's where I had to connect the Honda adapter. I just used a CAT6 cable and extended the wires, it works really well. Check out this video, he went all out on his Odyssey: ua-cam.com/video/lsbmQTKxQuA/v-deo.html
Suuuuper common here in New Zealand, I have the same spec one in my driveway :) Awesome car, super easy to find parts for actually and readily available, just about anything for K24A Accord/TSX fits it too!

Honestly i think the previa is better, because it has midengine layout, with supercharger and comes as either rwd or awd and manual and automatic. Amazing van. People have made drift vans out of the previa
