This masterpiece of a song was written by the gentleman on lead guitar,Robert Buraas. He was such an amazing songwriter and guitarist,he could just close his eyes and improvise. He was always in such a great mood,at least on the outside,an amazing personality,he would have been a living legend today im sure. But in 2007 he sadly passed away (suicide),and it had the band depart. They couldnt justify or find motivation in continuing without theyr dear friend. Not until 2019 when the remaining members did a reunion, and i think they are still active till this day. Took them almost 2 decades to find back together. You can hear it in many of theyr song lyrics now that Robert wrote, many cries for help hidden in there. Beautiful songs all of them! These guys grew up just on the neighbour island from me;basically just an hour at max between us with car. (The Lofoten Islands in Northern Norway) We had these guys plenty of times for an interview in our local radio station. They came from such a small place, but showed such greatness in talent. Just proves that talent can come from even the smallest of places, all they need is some starting help to get theyr music out there, and these guys were passionate about making it. This concert right here is when they sold out Oslo Spectrum, wich is concidered THE best concert venue to be playing in,and selling it out means that you have made it. Forever proud of these guys! And this song sure brings some tears to my eyes, when i hear it these days. Its such a masterpiece, and Robert is just letting go,he is one with the song and that guitar. You can see the passion,in not only his face but everyone of them. If you havent yet,you should check out some of Siverts solo songs as well, let me help you,try copy pasting this into youtubes search bar: Sivert Høyem - Into The Sea (He went solo for some years while Madrugada were taking a long break/were departed) Other songs by Madrugada worth listening to: Madrugada - The Kids Are On High Street [Official Music Video] [2005] This duet is amazing (Ane Brun is another female singer songwriter worth checking out) Madrugada - Lift Me (Live from Oslo Spektrum 2005) You might have listened to it already, but in case i left you some good video titles to search for.
The 90's....my love, my lady, my queen listened to this song in Chicago, thought of me....turned me onto Madrugada in 2017 when we united. Thank you band... good, good, stuff...art work!
For me, this song is associated with incredibly beautiful and sad memories too. Thank you very much for this great song - it's personally one of the best Songs for me!
Buenas tardes Amigos, esta canción cuando la escuche se me cairon lágrimas, pero me gusta escucharla, tiene algo especial, gracias 🧡 por dejarnos esta joia ❤❤❤️
I cannot listen to Nick Cave's "The Loom of the land" without thinking of this nor listen to this without thinking of that Cave song. Anyone else's with me? They both (Sivert and Nick) are GENIUSES!!! 🖤 My thieving heart!
Oh god... as it is 2014 again and we are dancing near the moon. So many years passed. People are far and we all are in the foreign lands now. Life happened and its good. Thanks Madrugada. I absolutely love this song.
Do you realise how beautiful your comment is? It could be lyrics... As it is 2014 again And we are dancing near the moon So many years passed People are far And we all are In the foreign lands now. Life happened And it's good... If you don't write, you should.
Wow! Goosebumbs & tears, this must be the best song of the century so far! Heart felt, melancholic, emotional...great voice, great musicians, super guitar solo...music of another level!!❤
What an icredible version !! I thought that the live version of this song at Acropolis was my favourite but not anymore !! Thank you for this masterpiece ..Greetings from Athens , looking forward for your concert in September !!
GORGEOUS!!!MASTERPIECE!!!And the SOLO guitar...GENTLY WEEPS...Thanks,guys... Όντως Μ Ε Γ Α Λ Ε Ι Ο η εκτέλεση. Υ Π Ο Κ Λ Ι Ν Ο Μ Α Ι!! R.I.P., Robert...
I consider myself a bit of a musical trivia expert (in the amateur ranks of course) but I defy anyone, or any band to create a Live version of studio produced song which is already brilliant, but to take that studio song and in my humble opinion, blow their earlier studio version completely away with this version. To me, the most haunting aspect of this song is when guitarist Robert Buras slowly emerges from the darkness. Not only is the imagery breathtaking with music, but nobody can pull off that red scarf and hair like he can...to think he would be found dead...alone...in his apartment a short two years later makes this imagery feel like an incredible farewell to the man. RIP Mr. Buras and thanks to you and your bandmates for creating a masterpiece that still makes me tear up whenever I hear it.
Nydelig musikk. ❤❤❤
lyrics: So am I Good or bad The way that things did turn out I did only make you sad And we cried and we cried On the phone Oh, but in my mind You were never that all alone Oh, you were majesty Your roads were heavy And your longing was a cut from bone So am I am I good or bad Could only awake your anger I could only make you mad Now was that how you showed me That you were still so young and bold Anyway those fights did dry me And I was dying of thirst and I wasn't growing old Oh, you were majesty Your robes were heavy And your roads were very cold Oh, oh, oh, majesty But in my mind I could still climb inside your bed And I could be victorious Still the only man to pass through the glorious arch of your head, o-oh Oh, you were majesty Your robes were heavy And your cheeks were very red Oh, you were majesty Now it's like I said That spirit, is now dead Oh, oh, oh, majesty

dream and magic
lyrics:
So am I
Good or bad
The way that things did turn out
I did only make you sad
And we cried and we cried
On the phone
Oh, but in my mind
You were never that all alone
Oh, you were majesty
Your roads were heavy
And your longing was a cut from bone
So am I am I good or bad
Could only awake your anger
I could only make you mad
Now was that how you showed me
That you were still so young and bold
Anyway those fights did dry me
And I was dying of thirst and I wasn't growing old
Oh, you were majesty
Your robes were heavy
And your roads were very cold
Oh, oh, oh, majesty
But in my mind
I could still climb inside your bed
And I could be victorious
Still the only man to pass through the glorious arch of your head, o-oh
Oh, you were majesty
Your robes were heavy
And your cheeks were very red
Oh, you were majesty
Now it's like I said
That spirit, is now dead
Oh, oh, oh, majesty
Aaaah so relaxing listen to.
