I have both, screen is brighter on the 35XX and has a more cooler white balance.. the miyoo mini has a warmer temperature for the white balance, for that i prefer the Anbernic.
I totally love my Miyoo Mini, but it's very hard for me to recommend it to my friends when the RG35XX is so similar, has better build quality and, more importantly, is much easier to buy. Even though OnionOS is better and more mature, I think GarlicOS is not very far behind. If only Miyoo would solve their supply issues, the Mini would easily be the winner here, unfortunately that's not the case at the moment.
RG35xx owner here, a lot of people say to update the RG35xx to Garlic OS right away when you get the console: Be patient! It's still in beta and needs more work, I recommend sticking with the Stock OS that comes with the RG35xx out of the box until the Galic OS get more development.
Fantastic video as always! 🤗🤗 I'm truly thankful that I have my Miyoo Mini but I agree that right now the RG35XX is the one to go with for the reasons stated. It's just an incredible value at the price and so readily available for someone that just wants to get gaming quickly.
I'm glad to hear the Miyoo Mini competetors are getting custom firmware. Its what has held me back from considering them. I did pay too much for my V1 Mini, adversised as a V2 but I wouldn't trade it for the world. Even ordered a second battery to go with it. I adore the button feel and would be challenged to find another I'd like better. If the Wi-fi on the Miyoo Mini+ lets you play with an 8-bit do or other controller, it'll beat any of them without thumb sticks for years to come. Till then I'm firmly in the Miyoo Mini camp, and hope they can source more screens for our favorite handheld.
Miyoo mini is basically a status symbol goods rn 🤣, I'm really glad that I'm lucky enough to get the v2 unit last year whilst it's still abundant in stock. I'm really gonna take an extra good care of it knowing it might not be available anymore, I wish that I'm lucky enough to get the mini + unit when it lauches, thanks to you I'm interested to get the RG unit, for the time being, I'll wait for the software improvement to be on par with Onion os ✌️
Great review/comparison. I didnt knew that portable retro gaming was so evolved, I was about to buy a psp/nds to play emulated games then saw an article about the rg35xx and ended up getting one. Can't wait for it to arrive, btw couldnt find Miyoo mini, and mini+ is way expensive than RG35xx. Subscribed.
I've got the Miyoo Mini and I adore it. The form factor and that super pixel dense screen and the Onion OS experience all are awesome. That said, between knowing I can't replace it, and knowing it's not terribly durable, I don't carry it around. It lives in it's (nice, and included in the package) case and rarely leaves the house with me. I got in on this scene with the RG351P, I carried that around in my pockets without qualms. It has such a sturdy feeling shell. Sounds like the 35XX carries that on, which instantly makes it better for the intended use case in my mind. (Hopefully the Battery/Charging is better on the 35XX than the 351P, mine has a very "soft" battery, between that and the comparatively crappy screen I don't use it much.) That said... might do a Mini + in Blue, because I never got a chance to pick a Blue Mini up and I regret that.
Right, both need a limit push with certain ps1 games. List and heard problems: gta London (running it) final fantasy 7&8 (running it) digimon world 3 (loading of sections of maps) parappa the rapper (is it playable) bust-a-groove (is it playable) Rival schools (both discs, is it playable) Legend of the dragoon (is it playable) Chrono trigger (heard it’s buggy) Resi 1,2,3,survivor (laggy?) And finally, Dino crisis 1&2 (is it playable)
The convenience of Miyoo mini is pretty remarkable, the idea of a device that more portable than any portable device is astounding 🤣, one if my favourite quote by Wulf Den is, the best console device is the one you have with you, this unit never leaves my bed 🤣. I myself surprised that I played this during cooking or doing laundry 😂
completely agree, its a true marvel at the size it is and with OnionOS. Super unique. I was lucky to grab 2 from the ali store when they had stock. I think the mini + will be another massive hit.
@@corsinivideos > I was lucky to grab 2 from the ali store cool! must be earned you some hefty fortune for selling the other one, right? > the mini + will be another massive hit. is it, though?
I’ve got a couple different colours of the miyoo mini back wen they were a reasonable price and stock wasn’t a problem. I’m still waiting on my anbernic rg35xx but at least stock wasn’t a problem with that and the managed to find one for about $80 Australia dollars which is pretty reasonable. I can’t compare til I get my rg35xx but from what I gather you are gonna b happy with either choice between the two
Great comparison. I think you really made clear the main point that a lot of people miss is that Onion OS is a masterpiece and Garlic while good is just not on the same level yet. Also the miyoo mini is just unique due to its size, there has never really been a device like it which is so small and has such a sharp display and slim bezel design. I appreciate the RG35XX but I feel like while good it is just another samey anbernic device and in many ways they seem to have seen the success of the miyoo mini's cheap price and super slim bezel design and tried to replicate the formula. That being said its good to have the option at such a great price. I feel like Mini + is really gonna be another massive hit for miyoo as will address most of peoples shortcomings of the mini with the slightly larger form factor, better L+R and availability.
I think perhaps due to the cpu architecture, would have to be ported to it and would involve a lot of work. Also I believe that miyoo actively support the devs of Onion OS by giving them units to develop on I suppose to incentive them to keep working on it. Maybe they have a deal in place?
@@corsinivideos I do not understand the interest of dealer with a single type of manufacturer knowing that we are talking about open source development. if the Os is designed to obtain good performance on a certain type of machine, it should obtain good results on all available supports and thus make enthusiasts want to obtain a stable, high-performance and rich in possibilities Os on any what support. why block access to this type of architecture? it makes no sense to me...

Yep, UHD pro is really awesome, I love it. It makes recording so much simpler. However, for streaming from the RG35XX you only need a capture card that can support 640x480 so pretty much any cheap card on Amazon should work fine.

Yeah I guess if you don’t mind charging more than playing, the RG35XX is OK. You’re never gonna get near the 5/6 hours that the Mini runs for tho.
@Stan Stare so you would recommend the mini. Thought the anbernic would have a better battery at that size
