Spent a night at the off grid log cabin during a snow storm. Theres no better place to be during a blizzard than a cozy off grid log cabin with the wood burning stove throwing out tons of heat.
A blizzard, in general, is when winds of 40 km/h or greater are expected to cause widespread reductions in visibility to 400 metres or less, due to blowing snow, or blowing snow in combination with falling snow, for at least four hours.
This is not a "How to build a log cabin" video. Its just me trying to fulfill my childhood dream of building a log cabin. I am not a carpenter, I am just doing the best I can with what I have. Thanks for watching and hopefully you subscribe for future log cabin videos.
A log cabin is a dwelling constructed of logs, especially a less finished or architecturally sophisticated structure. Log cabins have an ancient history in Europe, and in America are often associated with first generation home building by settlers.

Your response to Luke eating the black beans was priceless: "Ugh oh" . I worked high voltage for 30+ years, and those were the last two words you ever wanted to hear, from anybody.... I am in the Pacific Northwest of the US, and we get a lot of snow where I am at, but nothing like you Canucks have to deal with. I used to tell my kids when they complained, that where I grew up, 7500' in the mountains, I had to walk through waist deep snow to get to school, uphill, both ways, and at least they didn't have to deal with that. The screwy look on their faces as they worked that one out as small children was also priceless, and I was reminded of it with your own comments about waist deep snow... Thanks for the video. Though pretty cold here right now, I feel warmer, already. God bless.

Someone needs to come up with a SIMPLE wind generator that can power your lights, radio, battery chargers and send any excess to a 12 volt battery. They have them on sailboats.

Love your videos. Was introducing my wife to your channel and saw you sharpening a Mora, and said every Newfie bushman needs a Kyle Noseworthy knife. (I have the Tuckamore and a kitchen knife he made me). Then today I discovered Kyle had originally made the prevail for you. Time to add another to my collection. Loved watching Luke on your quad, he seems so comfortable there.

Awesome video Troy, god all mighty I'm so jealous,, when growing up in Quebec city, I used to go to my buddy's cabin in the witner, many snow storms , but we had such a blast, wood stove going playing cards, a few other extra activities ,,,,,,,, miss that so much

I wonder myself how one gets to be able to build with a permit, from what ive seen it looks an awful lot of trouble just to get 1.

I got it on ebay years ago. It's a British military smock. From a military surplus place I think. If you search in ebay you may find one.
