Loved this video, great pick ups. I was at the gaming market as well and mostly thought it was just horrendously busy. Maybe coming back after lunch was the thing to do!
It was too busy. I only managed to cope by leaving for an hour and coming back later once it died down a bit. They really need to hire a bigger venue or limit the tickets!

Great video Nick 😊 It was great meeting you at the show when you were purchasing the 3DO and a few other people said hello. The 3DO is something I was looking at picking up. Street Fighter is a great title to pick up , remember playing on my mates back in the day. Keep up the great content

The only games I boot up on 3DO are Road Rash and Return Fire these days. Return fire is a capture the flag type game where you have a map/terrain you kill all the enemies with 3 types of military equipment (Tank, helicopter, Armoured support vehicle). Once you cleared the area and acknowlege the flags position you take the jeep to collect it and bring it back base. I saw a Panasonic dealership playing it back in the day and they seemed to have a blast with it, so I bought it. Its good fun.

My buddy had a Panasonic 3DO & we played mostly GEX & Road Rash. So great pick ups!! I'll need to find the book: A Hand Held History! Thanks for the Retro Break!

Excited for the 3DO follow up vid! I think it's such a cool concept even it never took off
It was definitely a nice idea to have a standardised console hardware, but I think technology was moving too fast back then for anything like that to work… it’s quite surprising no one has tried again. I can imagine a console with a standard spec working much better today
Missed the show as I was ill with an infection but hopefully going to the March one.
Pricecharts doesn't have any pal 3do games on there except the ones I added myself. Lemmings is decent and return fire is good. Bust a move, street fighter 2 if you have special 6 button controller. Samurai showdown, starblade. Nothing 3do exclusive is great. Starblade might be best version but tekken 5 ps2 has it hidden in there somewhere.
Return fire and an extra pad and you have one of the best 2 player games ever!

I have a few recommendations for the 3DO (including some imports):
Guardian War is a really cool RPG, that doesn't have a huge story but is still really fun. It was released internationally.
I'm going to hesitantly recommend Lucienne's Quest, another RPG for the system. Hesitant because the 3DO version costs an arm and a leg. It's actually a really good, cute, quirky and charmingly retro RPG. The graphics are weird, they are like if 3D Zelda had started on the SNES.
Japanese games:
(very expensive) Oukuko no Grand Chef: no kidding, this is a cooking RPG. It's based on a cooking show, but it's got some of the best graphics I've seen on the 3DO.
Insector War: Really weird but charming 3D cute-em-up.
Doctor Hauzer: famous 3DO import, horror adventure game very similar to Alone in The Dark, but better according to some.

@@RetroBreak No region lock for the 3DO :). Only the games that require Kanji have it.
And there are very few games on the 3DO that require Kanji
Try out 'babel no tou' which I think on NES switch online they renamed 'mystery tower'. If you like Solomon then it's not the same, but will probably click for you.
3DO was probably the most successful of the "failed" 32-bit systems. Road Rash is supposed to be the definitive console version, so you´ve got a good start there. I remember a game called "Return Fire" getting good reviews back in the day. The port of Super Street Fighter II Turbo is good from what I´ve heard and features it´s own updated music. Lots of PC games were ported like Alone in the Dark, Mansion of Hidden Souls and the like if you enjoy the style of exploration adventures. Also the space strategy game Star Control 2.

Still, it has a share of weird and excentric games not available on the more popular consoles! I think it can be a fun machine to explore if you have an open mind about it :D
