The guy who owns this shop used to work in a shop called Awesome games in Walthamstow. Every Sunday on my meal break from work (I used to work at Dixons) I'd go in and see him (Imran) and he'd trade with me. He was a top man. I saw him at the London Gaming Market and it was good to catch up with him, thats when I learnt about his outfit, it was so good to see him after so long!
I live in Islington, North London. I had no idea about this store (Crazy Thumbs) When i'm next off work i think i'll drop down and have a look. Great looking store, not many of these around anymore. And that Street Fighter 6 arcade stick looks 🔥 21:12
Subscribed. I’m visiting my sister in London soon (from the US) and needed some ideas on some shops I could hit up while I’m there. Your videos helped me narrow it down. Thank you so much!
In the first part, you controlled the witch either on her broom or in a jump and run-like scenario. In part two, you take control of a pumpkin named Bouncy who tries to find ingredients for a spell in the witch's castle to free his friends. You can only move around by jumping. There are big and small jumps possible depending on how long you press the fire button. The game was probably very famous at the time. Cries out for a remake actually.
OMG! Thanks for the video! I'll have to check this store during my stay in London! I couldn't find many retro gaming stores in London. I found one called CEX though. I NEEEED to buy both europe exclusive Super FX games, Winter Gold and Dirt Racer! I'm also looking for Dakar Desert Rally, Dirt 5 and Assetto Corsa Competizione for PS5!
The last time I was in London the only retro game store I could find was Retro Game Base, but it has closed down years ago unfortunately. It was a lovely store, it also had a small youtube channel. I bought a GBA Micro there (at a half decent price :)
Fantastic vid Gem from more my neck of the woods! I enjoyed the person behind the counter at Crazy thumbs and I never realised that Selfridges had such cool stuff, especially the arcade cabs. I have the generic version of that SF6 fightstick, its really good, you can easily replace components if wish too, e.g. getting Sanwa buttons. Its a shame there isn't much of any arcade scene anymore in London, used to love place like Trocadero and Casino by Goodge Street tube. However, there is a place called Heart of Gaming in Croydon that might be worth checking out for more retro arcade stuff.
Defenders of the earth was brilliant, I had the game on the speccy. Think it had Flash Gordon, The Phantom and a couple of others in it. I'm looking at getting one of them emulator boxes for all the old speccy and commodore games.
Looks like they didnt have much of a change of stock since i was there 3 weeks ago, although those TV screens with the games on are different. Some nice bits in there though that i missed. Will have to pop back down anyways as a copy of turbo outrun they sold me doesnt work so i need to return it. Nice shop though and friendly staff. Nice vid Gem-MEH!
Amazing! I'm in my glory seeing all of these retro shops over there. its funny, I think the NTSC Sega cd cases are horrid .. They always broke so easy.
@@TheGebs24 Lol, I've never played it but everything is on the front of the box - the game is Cauldron 2 for the Commodore 64/128 (on disk). I was a Spectrum owner at the time but I assume it's mainly that high in price due to rarity/condition.
How come Europe have different looking Super Nintendo game cartridges from the American dark grey ones like we have a light grey ones in America to but yours look like a different design
Becasue us and the japanese had the rounded console where as in america they had the boxy console. So in turn the carts were made different as the cart slot on the american console is squared and ours is rounded. The US Super Nintendo was designed to look more like the NES as they were really familiar with it over there where as in europe we didnt really have the NES, so Hence why the consoles look different and the carts do as well. Hope that kinda explains it .

@@fer-tc1ui His lease ran out, you'll see him trading at the London comic con in excel etc until he returns to find a new place to trade.
He's now based in Tooting Market

Hey there. Where did you get the big stands for the games in the centre of the shop?
they had gliderider on c64.. have you got that game on spectrum 128 and c64? music is amazing!
Crazy Thumbs, good name for video game store. Bit of a strange name for an adults-only establishment. "The password is: puppeteer".
The Beach Head games were well known for the Commodore 64. I played them a lot.
LOL T2 at 15:56 exactly 15 years ago I thought Terminator 2 was best movie of all-times.
I can watch T2 over and over again 🎉
