      @@LaurelV. Hi Laurel!
      The trip went well! The wheels are beautiful - so easy to roll! I didn't realize how important that was until I used some other luggage with cheap wheels that was a pain to roll anywhere.
      Other than that I found the luggage is well made, I love the colours, and it's easy to use. I think they make great luggage, and if you want hard-sided luggage I can wholeheartedly recommend them.

    Great share! I like the idea of a textured exterior. I haven’t sorted out if soft or hard case is my preferred go-to, but I will be now keeping textured exteriors in mind.
    Have you come across any 45L options worth considering? What could be the deterrents for pursuing that size as a carry on only traveler?
    I am shopping for a carry on piece for travel similar to what you are doing and preferably with a generously sized matching under the seat, “personal item” bag, although it’s not necessary it be a set, as I’d rather find the right carry on option.
    Backpacks aren’t my preference, although a convertible bag that offers other ways of using it could work. There could be occasions I’d use it as a backpack, but likely it would be rare.
    I’ve come across recommendations for the Away brand and Romano. They are priced in what seems like the upper end of luggage offerings. If spending that amount was not a concern, how does it measure up to other top selling brands from those assorted price points?
    Having a 45L isn’t one of my requirements although I’d just as well consider what is possible.
    I don’t expect you to have all these answers, but I’d take any input you do have. Or any comments from other viewers.

      Hi Dahlia,
      So, there is a product that hasn't been released yet, but it's imminent, and I think it will suit your needs perfectly! I have seen the prototype video, and they are going to send me one to review as soon as samples are available.
      But it ticks all your boxes!
      * 45L wheeled luggage, with backpack straps in case you need them
      * Matching daypack that fits under the seat in front of you. It also zips onto the main pack in case you need to use the backpack straps, and there's also a pass-thru strap if you're wheeling the main luggage.
      Like I said it's not out yet, but here is the website (they have completely redesigned this bag): www.hypathtravel.com/products/hypath-2-in-1-convertible-travel-bag

    Have been using the Roadrunner for several long haul travels (Japan, Bali, Thailand, Hongkong, Malaysia) so far and it was wonderful. I put my laptop inside the Roadrunner and it make my backpack lighter. If you are not using the laptop compartment then the textured (normal) carry on will be better.
    I have three 26 inch Voyageur, one 20 inch Roadrunner and one 20 inch Voyageur from Level8. So far, none of them broken. The wheel is still super smooth and quiet. The handle on the Voyageur is fantastic.

    Hi Nora. Super great review. Could you do a review on Samsonite and TravelPro carry ons? I bought the TravelPro Maxlite Air as it’s expandable (just in case I need it for a trip home and check the bag), plus it’s 1.6 pounds lighter than Level8. I way prefer the look (and what I’ve seen of the wheels reviews) of the Level8 though. I’m wondering if I should have gone with Level8. Can you please do tape measurements of the bags on your next reviews? This seems helpful as other reviewers have shown anomalies in the actual size vs the online site size. Thanks.

    Which ones are the best for dragging through the airport on all surfaces and down the aisle of the airplane? The one I have now has the 'spinners' but actually spinning the case when full is not so easy. I hit carpet and it's like dragging the cat on a leash... it won't budge until I physically push, pull or drag it. There are so many reviews and I feel like they are all paid to say 'mines the best' but I have not seen anyone that has tried several types. You said this is your first spinner, so maybe try a few different ones... FULL and do another video? Or send me to someone that has done it??

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  Рік тому +1

      That’s really interesting about your experience with spinners, Annie. The wheels on both of these cases are the same and I’ve now traveled with them and they’re amazing. Full luggage on carpet is still a breeze!
      Are they the best? Don’t know. But do they work on multiple surfaces? You bet. I’ve even dragged it on cobblestone streets and sidewalks.

    I’ll be traveling on Air Canada from the US in September. The carry-on dimensions allowed are 9 x 15 1/2 x 21 1/2 vs the Level 8 Textured 9.2 x 14.5 x 21.5. I know this is nit picky but would that .2 on the depth be an issue? I ask because I understand some airlines have changed the size allowance and last year when I traveled to Canada I noticed several people in the line not fitting into the carry on frame. I don’t plan to check any luggage this time so I’m being super careful. Thanks for all you do🌻

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Chelein,
      Great question! And, tough to answer. If they're stopping people and making them put it in the sizer, you might be forced to check. Also, depending on the flight, if it's a small plane you might have to gate-check it anyway (that happened to me on a couple of short AC flights between Canada & the US in the last year).
      So while in many cases the extra 0.2 won't be a problem, it's good to be prepared to gate check if you have to, so it's not a nasty surprise.

    Thank you for this review. It swayed me to order the Textured Lightweight instead of the one with the pocket on the front. I was actually thinking of getting the Level 8 Grace because of the reinforced corners, but you convinced me that more liters of space inside was more important - and it is for me because I'm a plus-sized woman so my clothing takes up a little more space. One question though . . . I did see one negative reviewer on Amazon because the zipper inside that is on the bottom was not made to unzip from inside the case. She contacted Level 8 Customer Service and they claimed it was made that way intentionally. Is that true? Is the tongue of the zipper not available to use on the bottom of the inside lining?

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  Рік тому

      Hi Marsha,
      First of all, I believe the Grace Ext and the Textured Carry-on have the same capacity! So if you like the grace with the reinforced corners AND the front pocket, then I say go for it. One trade-off with the Grace is that the wheels aren't quite as amazing as the Textured Carry-on (those wheels are mind-blowingly smooth), but they're still pretty great.
      As for the zipper for the inside lining.....I don't currently have the Textured Carry-on with me, but I do have the Grace with me, and the reviewer was right....the zipper pull is NOT accessible.

    • @MarshasMusings
      @MarshasMusings Рік тому +1

      @@NoraDunn thank you for your quick reply. When the grace one is extended it looks like it would now be too deep to be a carry on. It puts it at over 11”. Since most of the airlines have moved to 9, that puts it over too much I would think. So, I’m looking forward to traveling with my Textured bag starting with my April travels. I never buy new luggage and I don't like the 4 wheels.
    I go to the goodwill or Facebook marketplace and never spend more than 8 bucks on one piece of luggage.
    Although I don't travel like Nora for 5 months at a time, I do spend 8 weeks in Europe just on trains and buses.
    I hardly ever use taxis or Ubers, so my luggage gets
    beat up more.
    If you are someone who rents a car, uses ubers and taxis often, your luggage will last far longer.
    This is exactly why I buy used luggage. Used luggage lasts me three long Europe trips, and four if I'm very lucky.

    • @NoraDunn
      @NoraDunn  Рік тому +4

      There's nothing worse than your luggage breaking WHILE you're on a trip. I've had it before, and it forces you to get new luggage right there on the spot (which, if you're in rural northern Sweden can be a difficult and expensive task.....and yes, I'm speaking from experience).
      That's why it's important to me to use high quality luggage - thought it certainly doesn't have to be hardshell and/or spinner luggage.
