Genius , bought a 12” ext when I discovered this insanity , this is what I needed . They should have at least installed the hitch plug not pointing down angled .
Nice solution. I had a Curt hitch with the plugs in the “hidden” location. I ended up getting an OEM hitch that is WAY more robust and it includes a relocation kit for the plugs that makes it accessible at the bumper.
It is almost like Lexus does not want you to use the vehicle for towing. For the first time I had to move some furniture and borrowed a trailer. What a pain getting that plug installed. I'm 65 and laying on my back on the street to do something you should be able to accomplish simply by bending over.
You do nice work Bob. I have a 2012 GX460 and my plug is flush mounted, so I don't have to crawl around on my sorry _ss like you rich guys with newer GX's. I wonder why Lexus moved it so far back,?? but let's all look at the bright side, they are helping to support Nilight and your YT channel.
To be honest, I don’t care for Nilight. I’m just trying to bang the Asian chick at the front counter. Jennie, if you happen to be reading this, I meant it in the nicest way passable.
For me to hate , I have to physically possess it for a time frame in order to figure out what is it that in don’t like. Unless it’s a person then I can use stereotypes to automatically hate without getting to know you.
We know bob is a well ripe papaya😅 why not follow along! He’ll jump on that wagon soon or late. which we all going to, after are GX460 stops sucking are D’pocket… Jus a joke! Don’t hate on me! 😱🤯
Hey Bob. Been looking for a good seat covers for the GX 460. I can’t really find really good ones with permit fit. Are you planning on getting some to protect your seats ? If you do, have you looked into them, any recommendations ?
I hate seat covers that cover your original seat covers because they move and shift every time you get in and out. I prefer to replace them with my removing the old seat covers and installing new covers as shown in my other vids
I bought a used 2016 GX and was trying to keep the seats in good condition. There’s no rips or anything just wanted to prevent any heavy wear and tear and make them last as long as possible. Going OEM is definitely great, just will be a hefty price to do all the seats.
My 17’ boat is 1400lbs and trailer is 800 lbs. GX tows it like a champ. I run it mostly in 4/5th gear while cruising . 3rd when I’m at a complete stop or going up hill. I never use drive.
Nice! I see you use the fancy crimpers. I've used Klein my entire life and i can't get myself to upgrade with today's better tools. Thanks for sharing and i hope your channel takes off!
Hate to burst your bubble on this video but all you had to do was open up the wiring loom on the harness thats attached to your GX460 and there is another 8-10 inches of wiring already there from the factory to extend next to your trailer hitch. You did not need to buy the wiring loom kit you purchased it is on every vehicle Lexus makes.

I struggle with this oem plug every single time.

true but that big hunk of metal adds more weight to an already heavy truck.
Hey GxBob. Nice to see ya. Thanks for another great helpful vid. You Da Man!
Thanks for the video. Can you confirm all GXs come with the harness down below?
Looking at a 22’ right now and cannot see any plug ins.
Thanks!
Thats impossible. My base model with absolutely zero packages comes with a trailer plug.
@@GXBOB thanks for the reply.
It’s out of state so I’m unable to look, but I’ll assume the plug ins are down there somewhere.

I feel you brother. I use that plug more often than I’d like to.
Nice video, new subscriber. Found you from a post on GX Reddit page.
Glad you joined. Buckle up and get ready for the ride. 🍷
I wanna see if you could get a CarPlay install on the fox 460😊
CarPlay for the GX? I had that in my video library for like a year already. Where have u been?

How big is your boat? How does the GX tow? I have an 18' boat about 3400lbs loaded. Never have towed it with the GX.
