why do you guys assume its going to be hex based lol the whole map is going to be available for planes... and they are going to see way less things. And ground infantry wont be able to see planes just their shadows. Planes will leave the "hex" once they in the sky. From that on they only see other planes and bigger ground targets (without soldiers) like ships trains and tanks possibly.

Players will queue up at the border waiting to be allowed into a full hex and adding in a new combat dimension will fill that population cap even faster. Imagine being a pilot stuck at the hex border for 30min and run out of fuel
@Katthewm they did not say that players will count towards a hexes population... Idk where you guys take this info. They said that players and plane will exists in the same hex setbox but thats it. No where they said that planes will be counting towards the max population. Trailer and what i have heard also suggests that my theory is true. For planes they only will see stuff thats important for them. Players still be able to see planes for obvious reasons but planes doesnt have to see every last detail of the battlefield, since they mainly are for tactical bombing. Also its ridicoulus to think that planes will be waiting at the border to cross lol. You think they will be floating or what? It also might be that planes will have bigger hexes, who knows. And one more thing is that player count regarding infantry sill stay the same, judging by experience from the naval update. Planes are going to be costly, so only clan man will be using them

i know its cheap but a video of the reaction of each big face in foxhole to this update would be cool, i think its the biggest one to date. mainly because it touches such small but tedious things, showing you that the devs are not fossils indeed and care about the things we''ve been complaining or asking to change or add. thank you Robert for the amazing videos you put out.
@@RobertLovesGames as someone who plays flights sims, i actually found doing maneuvres in planes to be a lot less nauseating than a lot of other things you can do in vr, probably because as long as you're not too near the ground there's not as many things moving around for a frame of reference, other than the cockpit
Thoughts: Gas - they will need to give us more of that cus it's not worth it to spend a inventory spot for 5 gas grenades, that need to burn through stamina first. logi - not super stoked about moving production to bases, would appreciate more public logi. Mines - o man I don't even want to think about this, if all they need is basic materials to repair we might see entire hexes filled with anti infantry mines.
I hope fighter planes will be cheap and makeable by one or two players so we can enjoy flying experience. If all planes will be locked late game and require massive resources, then I am not hyped about plane update.
I hope they do that as well! I want some cool logistic type plans. Drop off crates of supplies places. And yea if they are similar to navy I don't think players will like them at first :/
I suspect aircraft will be something close to building Battletanks. Tbh the last thing I want is half the server flying around because it’s cheap to make

@@Lem0nsquid fighter planes are not meant to use as strategically, you defend the air, or you do small attacks forward with your machine gun. You are small. You won't make considerable damage to front line. You fight other planes. It is the same in every other WW2 game I played. This is why I hoped at least fighter planes will be unlocked mid war and requiring few resources and few gas to enjoy flying experience.
Nice, love to see that they fixed the vaulting since i hated spamming my space bar tbh. Also love some of the changes since i was realy hoping they would fix em. Ha! It just makes sense :D and honestly even the little detail of wearing a gas mask makes your stamina worse because it's harder to breathe in them makes sense as well.
I think the thing that most excited me was actually the Crows Feet anti-infantry mines. It took me by suprise. Always happy to see some attention brought to the medic gameplay as well.

So, I've read patchnotes... there will be two of em: mid-range collie variant, a good two-shot-to-kill, and the warden one, which is two-barelled sawed-off boomstick, needs to reload much, but mostly oneshot in close quarters. Nothing about spread mechanics on them though, better check it yourself in the devbranch!
My theory how planes will work based on trailer: Planes will exist on their own server, in their own environment. There won't be hexes for planes, they will be able to fly anywhere on the map without queue. Planes will see only vehicles and buildings, NOT infantry (this is supported by actual gameplay footage, not cinematics - exception might be paratroopers dropping from planes). To counter too much airplanes in air, before takeoff planes will be put into queue if there are too many planes in the skies. People from ground might see airplanes (or their shadows, but I think with low altitude they will be able to see airplanes themself), but they will not be able to interact with them in any way. This means that all AA options will be AI only. Source: No source, basing this off of what was shown in trailer (and only taking into account actual gameplay footage which is like 5-10s long) and my experience as game dev. WOW I haven't been playing like at all since war 115 and early 116 cos I didn't really feel like it but this will defenetly bring me back to the game! Can't wait to see how the planes will work as well
I had many discussions with people and they all thought I was crazy talking about how planes are impossible and it doesn't really fit foxhole well.... look where we are now PLANES BABYYY.
- Finally, the infantry gets some love. - I try to stay away from the Rmat conflict and that results in me only playing Infantry and Logi. But then get bomba by arty and tank rush. - Now at least I can survive for more than 10 seconds. - Also the Infantry factory is cool. I like the Tripod factory a lot but other players don't take advantage of it. - This is big W for Infantry and Builder.
It's a Big W for newbies, i'me sorry but if you think a little you are able to live more than 10s in the front. I'me sorry but how am i supposed to take a trench now ? I can't gas it, i can't rush it due to stamina and shouldering.how am i supposed to win 1VS 3 now ? I can't use the bayo or the bonk stick due to stamina. And for the build you were able to do something interesting before, you just need some skill and work. Now we are just going to see ugly MG/AT 20x2 with a huge field mine on the ground.

Every war I go to the front and build proper bases for the faction just to see 2 tanks rush blowing everything up without any way to defend myself and the bunker. - I won't call it "interesting".
@@hoanglinhle4468 i'me not a builder, i only build front bb and in mid-late war you can't expect them to live more than 12h intense fight and you can't think, even with the biggest défenses to win against pve, the worst base live longer with infanterie than the better alone. I also play a lot solo and clan infanterie. What was interesting before is you already can build defenses that can hold a front with the support of the infanterie and some knowledge but you can also destroye or sneak into the ennemy base with teamwork. Now you just build a giant wall and it's over, even if you break a riffle the husk prevent anyone to sneak in.
@@xjzurv - Well, if you are not Builder, then why should you decide the current Building is "Ugly"? - I don't mind if my bunker dies in a big push. But 2 tanks rush is ridiculous. Especially when 1 Colie Spatha only costs like 2 flatbeds. - Most players complain that Builders need love since War 112. Now we have the buff we wanted for so long. - If you think it makes the Partisan job harder. Isn't the whole Partisan character support to be creative and outsmart enemy?
I'm really concerned about how they are going to implement them in a way that is fun for both the players on the ground and the players in the air. I feel like it will either be clunky af and rarely used or OP as hell and almost game breaking.

the mines are going to be annying as balls depending on how they are actually going to function. but it is going to make being a builder man replacing your minefield less taxing. well also as the devs intended another partisan nerf. but partisans are proboly going to get a buff in the air update with paratroopers. but it's not all partisan nerfs for partisans havocs got buffed making placing and detonating lots of them go faster as well as letting you place them inside buildings which is huge.
Yesterday I stumbled into foxhole. I saw that there was logi, naval,arty,tanks and infantry. Before going to bed I was thinking when the devs would add the planes..... And now i am here.... getting the plane update the very next day!! 🥳
I feel like people have been talking about it for ages ha! Glad to see the devs are moving forward with it. Should be interesting to see how they are implemented and the balance of them.
@@RobertLovesGames Back in those days it seemed like an impossibility lol I think they will be a net positive to the game overall. More variety in gameplay, more options for larping, and it might be appealing enough to expand the player base a bit.
I haven't logged into the game for a long time and I don't know how everything has changed in a year and a half, but I remember how I organizeda warehouse on a battlefield protected by sandbags, and I really missed icons on the boxes to separate them. We need icons for cartridges, medicine, grenades, metals, tanks, tools and numbers. I would also like to be able to leave a medic icon on the ground so that soldiers understand where to bring the wounded so that medics can pick them up.
How will it even work? How will ground players be able to see planes? How will planes move upwards or downwards? Or is it a fixed altitude? How will you know about planes out of sight range?
@@anmordi285 flying is not that difficult. You put a players on different z levels and they control the planes and so and som hitting ground targets which will be just dropping bombs at coordinates you translates to the bottom z layer. The main question is how do you handle dogfights and AA which means shooting across different layers.. Foxhole is so dogshit at basically aiming rifles to begin with
I’m not gonna lie, your content and in general this game is motivating to build my first pc. Air update is gonna be nuts, imagine holding a base that’s been cut off and relying on Aerial resupply to hold the line!
As for me, for the future updates, devs could do: - Excavator upgrade for CV - EV will not be able to build like usual, but instead it will be able to dig trenches, bunkers, minefields etc, twice as fast as soldier... - Change how tiers works, at least for trucks... Adding like 20% HP for 600 cmats to a truck worth 100 bmats sounds like a joke to me... The way I see it, they could stay with it if we're talking about standard trucks (or maybe add them some kind of actual armor at tier 3), but modified ones should get that 20% for Tier 2, and for Tier 3 they could get 15th inv slot... - Modifications to a Flatbeds in Small Assembly Bay. 1st would change it to look more like an 18 wheeler where you could transport 2 medium shippables or one large (but with greater speed reduction). Of course you'll need a special trailer for it which would be buildable in the same Assembly Bay. 2nd would add a small crane (like in some of real life lumber trucks) operated from a passenger seat. This crane would be able to drop pallets/containers just near a vechicle, on the left or right side of it. During the process, vechicle would me immobilized. - Remove queue expirations from stationary harvesters. As long as I understand the idea in other facilities, which are producing multiple types of materials, it's just annoying to set new queues every 24h for a harvester which is mining only one, specified resource. - Ability to place rails over provisional roads. - Ability to place rails and provisional roads through gates (as for now we can only place gates on rails and roads). - Ability to upgrade provisional roads. Up to 2 upgrades, adding +10% speed per level (so standard would be 45% like now, lvl2 55%, lvl3 65%).
@RobertLovesGames the larp from it on the battlefield will be off the chart, ive wanted blocking strikes for so long. Not sure how much of a fan of at rifles that don't kill tanks. I'm very xp with mg so that suppression should be interesting. Will have to actually try harder when gunner for tank so I'm OK with because it's too easy now. This vid got me hyped because ive been playing dayz and space engineer, bf 2042, so thanks for your service, im hyped to return now.
I personally like that defenses will now be 1 line of fortification and several lines of mines, trenches, and barbed wire, instead of the large clump of concrete mayhem that we are used to.
I got the game recently and having to go through various different menus to find all the medic gear was a massive turnoff, really glad to see loadouts now
I was hoping they would add a mortar emplacement for the Wardens like a quad mortar with a range of 120 to 30 meters since the collies have the rocket emplacement and when you consider the 120 cannon of the wardens is just like the field artillery for the collies it feels like they have more options
I really need to give Foxhole a try, these types of games are always so intimidating from the outside, but it looks like literally everything I want in an online wargame.

To be honest, it seems to me that the developers need to reconsider the design of some factional weapons. For example, the colonials' hand grenades (Bomastone Grenade) are more similar in design to the grenades of the warden faction and vice versa, the warden grenades (A3 Harpa Fragmentation Grenade) are more suitable for Colonists. It is obvious that the colonials' grenades are inspired by the "Stielhandgranate M-24" and "F1 grenade" grenades. I would also like the colonials' grenade launcher such as "Bane 45" and "Ignifist 30" to be handed over to the warden, for the same reason as the grenades because they look like Panzerschreck and Panzerfaust. And so, I am very glad that we finally got involved in the processing of medicine, because before this update it was dead. I think that doctors should be divided into two types: 1. Support medics, i.e. those who directly patch wounds under fire; 2. Medics engaged in the evacuation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield, which should be so much that a second type of medic literally constantly drags them from the battlefield. This should be a good support for shirts on the front line. And yes, it's good in the carriage because the train can be adjusted to the front line. But to do this, you finally need to make an armored locomotive, and stop trains not through the destruction of the locomotive, but through damage to the rails with mines or remote explosive charges. Shouldering and new stamina management should reduce shadow dancing I think, since you wont be able to run and gun as easily if you run out of stamina, and also wont run as fast with a light build
For sure. Which I am really excited about. I use to just get destroyed by even just normal movement of people just moving a bit and then shooting. Excited to see how this will change the battlefield.
The stamina / encumbrance changes need slight tweaks to the "heavy / overweight" penalties as I feel they're a bit too punishing BUT I love the overall change. Holding nothing in my inventory I found I could sprint across an entire hex, cross over (have full stamina) and then keep running through the next.
thought more about the atr changes depending on how they are handled they might turn into the favoured way to kill enemy infrty rather then just a support gun. idk a 20mm burst fushina or brooker sounds great for trench clearing.
I mean people already use the Warden ATR to snipe infantry lol. So I wouldn't doubt these ATR guns get used in a similar way. Might have to try them out in dev branch to test them in a trench.
I noticed that they only showed Wardens with fighter planes and Colonials with bomber planes. Is this just a coincidence or do they not have designs for the both factions?
I am actually worried about planes on release, the color scheme implies at start colonials will be given ONLY bombers/ transport plane and wardens will ONLY be receiving a fighter at start… That will really skew usefulness depending on how they work

I’m interested to see how the infantry changes go. This is a big change for any of us that have been playing foxhole for years. Also PLANES!

So, I've read patchnotes... there will be two of em: mid-range collie variant, a good two-shot-to-kill, and the warden one, which is two-barelled sawed-off boomstick, needs to reload much, but mostly oneshot in close quarters. Nothing about spread mechanics on them though, better check it yourself in the devbranch!

My theory how planes will work based on trailer:
Planes will exist on their own server, in their own environment. There won't be hexes for planes, they will be able to fly anywhere on the map without queue. Planes will see only vehicles and buildings, NOT infantry (this is supported by actual gameplay footage, not cinematics - exception might be paratroopers dropping from planes). To counter too much airplanes in air, before takeoff planes will be put into queue if there are too many planes in the skies.
People from ground might see airplanes (or their shadows, but I think with low altitude they will be able to see airplanes themself), but they will not be able to interact with them in any way. This means that all AA options will be AI only.
Source: No source, basing this off of what was shown in trailer (and only taking into account actual gameplay footage which is like 5-10s long) and my experience as game dev.

I’m excited for all the new infantry changes! Excited to see how war 119 plays out.
- Finally, the infantry gets some love.
- I try to stay away from the Rmat conflict and that results in me only playing Infantry and Logi. But then get bomba by arty and tank rush.
- Now at least I can survive for more than 10 seconds.
- Also the Infantry factory is cool. I like the Tripod factory a lot but other players don't take advantage of it.
- This is big W for Infantry and Builder.
It's a Big W for newbies, i'me sorry but if you think a little you are able to live more than 10s in the front. I'me sorry but how am i supposed to take a trench now ? I can't gas it, i can't rush it due to stamina and shouldering.how am i supposed to win 1VS 3 now ?
I can't use the bayo or the bonk stick due to stamina.
And for the build you were able to do something interesting before, you just need some skill and work. Now we are just going to see ugly MG/AT 20x2 with a huge field mine on the ground.
And last thing. With the new riffle husk you need to dehusk a bunker now in order to rush in the ennemy base.

- Well, I'm not Vet but still, 900 hours playing, mainly Logi and Builder.
- I know what it feels like being Infantry without big clans to back you up.
- Can you tell me what is "interesting" about building before? Every war I go to the front and build proper bases for the faction just to see 2 tanks rush blowing everything up without any way to defend myself and the bunker.

@@hoanglinhle4468 i'me not a builder, i only build front bb and in mid-late war you can't expect them to live more than 12h intense fight and you can't think, even with the biggest défenses to win against pve, the worst base live longer with infanterie than the better alone. I also play a lot solo and clan infanterie. What was interesting before is you already can build defenses that can hold a front with the support of the infanterie and some knowledge but you can also destroye or sneak into the ennemy base with teamwork. Now you just build a giant wall and it's over, even if you break a riffle the husk prevent anyone to sneak in.

- I don't mind if my bunker dies in a big push. But 2 tanks rush is ridiculous. Especially when 1 Colie Spatha only costs like 2 flatbeds.
- Most players complain that Builders need love since War 112. Now we have the buff we wanted for so long.
- If you think it makes the Partisan job harder. Isn't the whole Partisan character support to be creative and outsmart enemy?

I'm really concerned about how they are going to implement them in a way that is fun for both the players on the ground and the players in the air. I feel like it will either be clunky af and rarely used or OP as hell and almost game breaking.

the mines are going to be annying as balls depending on how they are actually going to function. but it is going to make being a builder man replacing your minefield less taxing. well also as the devs intended another partisan nerf. but partisans are proboly going to get a buff in the air update with paratroopers. but it's not all partisan nerfs for partisans havocs got buffed making placing and detonating lots of them go faster as well as letting you place them inside buildings which is huge.
Yesterday I stumbled into foxhole. I saw that there was logi, naval,arty,tanks and infantry.
Before going to bed I was thinking when the devs would add the planes.....

I haven't logged into the game for a long time and I don't know how everything has changed in a year and a half, but I remember how I organizeda warehouse on a battlefield protected by sandbags, and I really missed icons on the boxes to separate them. We need icons for cartridges, medicine, grenades, metals, tanks, tools and numbers. I would also like to be able to leave a medic icon on the ground so that soldiers understand where to bring the wounded so that medics can pick them up.

How will it even work? How will ground players be able to see planes? How will planes move upwards or downwards? Or is it a fixed altitude? How will you know about planes out of sight range?
my guess would be AI anti-air bunker garrisons that deals with AA defense. Player controlled AA seems like a pain with all the elevation issue.

@@anmordi285 flying is not that difficult. You put a players on different z levels and they control the planes and so and som hitting ground targets which will be just dropping bombs at coordinates you translates to the bottom z layer.
The main question is how do you handle dogfights and AA which means shooting across different layers.. Foxhole is so dogshit at basically aiming rifles to begin with

I’m not gonna lie, your content and in general this game is motivating to build my first pc. Air update is gonna be nuts, imagine holding a base that’s been cut off and relying on Aerial resupply to hold the line!
As for me, for the future updates, devs could do:
- Excavator upgrade for CV - EV will not be able to build like usual, but instead it will be able to dig trenches, bunkers, minefields etc, twice as fast as soldier...
- Change how tiers works, at least for trucks... Adding like 20% HP for 600 cmats to a truck worth 100 bmats sounds like a joke to me... The way I see it, they could stay with it if we're talking about standard trucks (or maybe add them some kind of actual armor at tier 3), but modified ones should get that 20% for Tier 2, and for Tier 3 they could get 15th inv slot...
- Modifications to a Flatbeds in Small Assembly Bay. 1st would change it to look more like an 18 wheeler where you could transport 2 medium shippables or one large (but with greater speed reduction). Of course you'll need a special trailer for it which would be buildable in the same Assembly Bay. 2nd would add a small crane (like in some of real life lumber trucks) operated from a passenger seat. This crane would be able to drop pallets/containers just near a vechicle, on the left or right side of it. During the process, vechicle would me immobilized.
- Remove queue expirations from stationary harvesters. As long as I understand the idea in other facilities, which are producing multiple types of materials, it's just annoying to set new queues every 24h for a harvester which is mining only one, specified resource.
- Ability to place rails over provisional roads.
- Ability to place rails and provisional roads through gates (as for now we can only place gates on rails and roads).
- Ability to upgrade provisional roads. Up to 2 upgrades, adding +10% speed per level (so standard would be 45% like now, lvl2 55%, lvl3 65%).
A damn good update that promises continued improvements and additions!

@RobertLovesGames the larp from it on the battlefield will be off the chart, ive wanted blocking strikes for so long. Not sure how much of a fan of at rifles that don't kill tanks. I'm very xp with mg so that suppression should be interesting. Will have to actually try harder when gunner for tank so I'm OK with because it's too easy now. This vid got me hyped because ive been playing dayz and space engineer, bf 2042, so thanks for your service, im hyped to return now.
I personally like that defenses will now be 1 line of fortification and several lines of mines, trenches, and barbed wire, instead of the large clump of concrete mayhem that we are used to.
I got the game recently and having to go through various different menus to find all the medic gear was a massive turnoff, really glad to see loadouts now

I was hoping they would add a mortar emplacement for the Wardens like a quad mortar with a range of 120 to 30 meters since the collies have the rocket emplacement and when you consider the 120 cannon of the wardens is just like the field artillery for the collies it feels like they have more options

To be honest, it seems to me that the developers need to reconsider the design of some factional weapons.
For example, the colonials' hand grenades (Bomastone Grenade) are more similar in design to the grenades of the warden faction and vice versa, the warden grenades (A3 Harpa Fragmentation Grenade) are more suitable for Colonists.
It is obvious that the colonials' grenades are inspired by the "Stielhandgranate M-24" and "F1 grenade" grenades.
I would also like the colonials' grenade launcher such as "Bane 45" and "Ignifist 30" to be handed over to the warden, for the same reason as the grenades because they look like Panzerschreck and Panzerfaust.
And so, I am very glad that we finally got involved in the processing of medicine, because before this update it was dead. I think that doctors should be divided into two types: 1. Support medics, i.e. those who directly patch wounds under fire; 2. Medics engaged in the evacuation of wounded soldiers from the battlefield, which should be so much that a second type of medic literally constantly drags them from the battlefield. This should be a good support for shirts on the front line. And yes, it's good in the carriage because the train can be adjusted to the front line. But to do this, you finally need to make an armored locomotive, and stop trains not through the destruction of the locomotive, but through damage to the rails with mines or remote explosive charges.

Shouldering and new stamina management should reduce shadow dancing I think, since you wont be able to run and gun as easily if you run out of stamina, and also wont run as fast with a light build
For sure. Which I am really excited about. I use to just get destroyed by even just normal movement of people just moving a bit and then shooting. Excited to see how this will change the battlefield.
Anti infantry mines. I feared the day they show.
The stamina / encumbrance changes need slight tweaks to the "heavy / overweight" penalties as I feel they're a bit too punishing BUT I love the overall change. Holding nothing in my inventory I found I could sprint across an entire hex, cross over (have full stamina) and then keep running through the next.
thought more about the atr changes depending on how they are handled they might turn into the favoured way to kill enemy infrty rather then just a support gun. idk a 20mm burst fushina or brooker sounds great for trench clearing.
I mean people already use the Warden ATR to snipe infantry lol. So I wouldn't doubt these ATR guns get used in a similar way. Might have to try them out in dev branch to test them in a trench.
I noticed that they only showed Wardens with fighter planes and Colonials with bomber planes. Is this just a coincidence or do they not have designs for the both factions?

Have they said how warships will defend themselves from aircraft yet? Most warships do not have a lot of small arms to use as anti-air weapons.
We have not gotten any specific details yet. I would imagine we won't get any more details until next spring.

I am actually worried about planes on release, the color scheme implies at start colonials will be given ONLY bombers/ transport plane and wardens will ONLY be receiving a fighter at start…
