Thank you so much for posting this video. It is with a heavy heart that I watch this video. I'm 64 years old. I have a 2011 Crown Victoria. Mine is gray, but like the one in this video, I have the same rims and mine is also flex fuel like the one in the video. I hope to be able to keep mine until I die. I wouldn't take anything for it, except, maybe a 2010 Grand Marquis, or maybe a 2011 Town Car. And I would basically be getting what I already have. There is not a car made anywhere else on earth I would rather have than what I already have. Are you listening, or reading this, Ford Motor Company? To the people at Ford Motor Company who may actually see this comment, let me tell you a little story. Okay, my father died this past January, 2016. He was a World war II veteran. I'm a disabled Navy veteran. Anyway, he was, and along with me, members of a nearby Disabled American Veterans. About ten or twelve years ago, we went to a DAV meeting. At the time, Daddy had a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis. When we got to the meeting, along with our Grand Marquis, we were among 14, or 15, maybe even 16, or more Grand Marquis', Lincoln Town cars, and Crown Victorias . There weren't more than five or six other cars that weren't the three cars I just mentioned. It looked like we were making a TV commercial for Ford Motor Company. To Ford Motor Company, you have no idea just how much you have hurt so many millions of Americans who were loyal customers. I can name almost a dozen men and women who traded there old Chevrolet Caprices, or Cadillac Fleetwoods for Crown Victorias, Grand Marquis', and Town Cars. I know of one woman who recently traded her Grand Marquis for a Fusion. She liked her Grand Marquis better. Her sister has a Crown Victoria, which she traded in an old Caprice for it. In 1987 my parents bought a new Grand Marquis. In 1991, they traded it in on a '91 Grand Marquis. In 1997, they bought a new Grand Marquis; but kept the '91. Mother died in June of 2000. In the summer of 2001, Daddy bought a 2001 Grand Marquis. In around May of 2009, Daddy and I drove down to Panama City, Florida, to the dealership we had been trading with. The car had around 100,000 miles on it. It didn't use any oil. Ran like new. handled like new. Got fairly decent gas mileage. WE DIDN'T GO THERE TO TRADE!!! Some salesman drove up in a 2008 Grand Marquis. We fell in love and traded. They sold that 2001 before we were through filling out the paperwork for the 2008. In may of 2012, we drove back down to the dealership...NOT TO TRADE. The 2008 Grand Marquis then had around 60,000 miles on it. The tires were beginning to get a little slick. It was beginning to take a little longer to stop the car. The tires still had a fairly decent amount of tread on them. WE DIDN'T GO THERE TO TRADE!!! We just went down there to "trade for" new tires. We didn't go there to trade. And some salesman drove up in this 2011 Crown Victoria, like the one in this video. Except it was gray. We fell in love again and traded. I hope to be able to keep this 2011 Crown Victoria until I die. Maybe I can be buried in it.
@@rickhunter6513 unfortunately even the taurus has been discontinued. Idk why but chevy and ford are discontinuing most of their sedans like the impala, fusion....

God I miss mine. Rarely ever had to take it to the shop and when I did it was a hour or two tops and usually under a hundred bucks. Only time it stayed over was for an engine swap (312k miles). Old girl lived through four snowstorms, drove cross country, countless miles thrown on her, and ultimately gave her life to protect me in a head on collision I walked away from with no more then a headache and a broken heart lol. A legendary vehicle.
to be fair i think most of the ones in movies are ones that were in accidents that left them as write offs (bent frame for example) new body panels are installed to make them look not wrecked before crash or at least this is what i tell myself when i see this
Good thing is, we'll always see them in movies as long as there's a steady supply of written-off Crown Vics. We'll always remember them, even if the cops won't use it.
Around 100k miles many are sent to auction and will be a good car for another 100k. $500 a year for repairs is one monthly car payment for those buying a new car
Agreed, great cars, big, reliable, decent power and speed, not great on gas, but i like the trade off that they are huge cars that can carry lots of stuff. I use mine for camping and can fit numerous people and all their stuff in the car. They're great
@@owl7339 sorry Carlos....not a chance, that 4.6 interceptor engine was far superior to the 9c1...just straight stock on the Dynotune will show you the specs. End of story..Period!!!!

Producing these cars was like printing money for Ford. Cheap to make, no advertising dollars necessary and a guaranteed, huge, customer base every year.
Same here, when I took an internship with the Texas Department of Public Safety, I went with a ride-along with the State Troopers, some of them are driving the Crown Victoria. For me, the Ford Crown Victoria will always be my #1 favorite sedan from Ford. It’s so sad to see them go.

West Coast Highways hey look at the bright side, if they continued these would probably end up having ecoboost motors which are shit, so some things should just be kept the way they are
West Coast Highways ford is not in a really good posición right now... I read they're discontinuing most of their line-ups except the mustang and another car I forgot.
West Coast Highways I'm almost 60 and they're going to bury me in my white 2009 Crown Vic interceptor. What a glorious generation to be alive. Built Tough like me body-on-frame able to take a hit. Long live the Crown Vic
As an Aussie I know how you feel American's, the crown vic's Australian cousin the Ford Falcon was discontinued in 2016 after over 50 years of production in Australia, (such a sad day). It was another 4 door body on frame car, available in sedan, station wagon or as a ute (pickup), V8 or inline 6, ever reliable with some examples doing over 1,000,000kms as Taxis, Police cars and daily drivers. As with the crown vic, these cars may be gone but never will they be forgotten, there will never be another car like them.
Ryan M I wood I agree the crown Vic police interceptor could take a beating and shake it off like it was nothing. Especially when it pit maneuvers a bigger vehicle. And used as a rolling barricade to stop a speeding car.
@@jakethesnake4971 Heck yeah!!! I just put a new set of tires on it; ready for another few hundred thousand miles...they are built for commercial use just like a semi that can run for a million miles or more. That's why they became popular as taxi cabs, police cars, and government vehicles.
I am in depression. I have lost 3 very dear aunts to cancer in 1 year. All three, gone in an instant. I love Ford vehicles. I love each and every one like a dear family member to me. ESPECIALLY the Crown Victoria. Who can ever forget the most famous and popular car for all the police interceptors, and NYC taxi cabs? Ford Co. I love you guys, but you took a serious piece of my heart. I have lost one of my most favorite and dependable vehicles. I will never be the same without the Crown Victoria. A great, American car, so long lasting, sharp looking, and classy. I really always loved seeing the Crown Victorias driving around. There is still some around, but they're fading fast. This vehicle. This hero, this dear friend to me, has now, along with my family, been taken from me. I feel I have really lost something very close to my heart, and I will never be the same. God Bless you Crown Victoria. May you forever rest in everlasting peace. Thank you for everything you have done

Your welcome and may my kids take good care of her and pass down to my grandkids even if its set to go to a museum it will still be on the road outliving everyone with over 5 million miles and still going and passed on to my great grand kids and great great grand kids, that is how much i love my car! It will still be on the road in 2100 when most are extinct and its outliving these futuristic cars regardless of being an ancient fossil!
wally12345na I was in New York a week ago and I saw a lot of Crown Victoria's as taxis and some as police interceptors I was amazed and it made me happy that many crown vic's are still in service. I understand you m8. soon it will be the 7 year anniversary of my grandpa's death he meant a lot to me and my mom. everyone loved him a day he died on 2009 November 29th. when my mom got her first car it was the 2000 Mercury grand marquis Ls (or the crown vic .to me they are so similar so I just think of them as the same) and my grandpa drove it first. once he even tried to race a Mustang and got pulled over by a crown vic.(a crown vic pulling over a grand marquis of the same year lol) and avoided a ticket by saying I will never do this again. the family going to Mexico in that car all the time and my mom was very protective of the car and my grandpa didn't give a shit. I didn't exist until late a year after buying the car, buy we still went everywhere in that car to Yosemite, seqouia, everywhere especially to Mexico . in the state we go to Mexico spsificly (sinaloa) there are many marquis and crown vic's we loved it's trunk size put all of our shit there it was fun. and when my grandpa died we buried him in the same ranch in Mexico where we grew up. and we also took the marquis to go there. that car I grew up in many memories in that car many trips this was the family car for many many years until late 2013 when we got a Honda Pilot but we still use the marquis. for a year we didn't use it due to a/c problems and it would get really hot in California so we didn't use it for a whole summer season. but that reliable 4.6 v8 engine with year old oil and gas still ran with a new battery. I'm glad that I'm now the owner of this car. this car was sentimental to me and my mom and was her first car now that same car is my first car. I love this car and would never trade it for anything else also I feel you I was also in depression and still depressed over many things and just recently my great grandma (mother of my grandpa I was talking about) died 3 days ago. I feel like shit but remember many memories of the past. also sorry for your loss. also like another comment said crown vic's are cheap and affordable
Ya know here it is 2021 and I'm 30 years old tearing up over the production ending of this car once again. I've seen this video at least 100 times and it hurts. 😢
Gone, but never to be forgotten, and the plant was hallowed grounds - automotive legends were built there. Still love my 2009 Crown Victoria, still driving it to this day - they REALLY got it perfect the last few years with Flex Fuel and the side impact airbags, but I still love my 1996 Crown Victoria also, from the same plant!
BrendanTheGent I just got one too. I thought about selling her for profit since I only paid $2300 with 85k and now I got 98k in just 6 months and I can't part with her. Too much history and it's my 4th Panther. This sad video just made it clear that I will set a goal to put 1,000,000 miles on her starting now.
I've got a 98 Crown Vic. Goddamn thing is a tank and she's still rolling strong. Love my Crown Vic with all my heart haha. This video was something, man...
This is sad, seeing how much pride they had in building that car, and probably all crown vics, no wonder they ran like tanks you had amazing people building them, but the sad thing isn't just the end of these cars, but knowing all those hard working and highly skilled people in this factory lost their jobs forever, I bet some of those people had been there for 20 years or more, giving all their best knowing they were building cars meant to serve, protect, and save lives.
Bait28 Explorers were already being made in another factory by plenty of people along side the vic, these people here lost their jobs, You are really naive if you think otherwise, the main benefit of ending a model and why car companys are so eager to do it is the huge amount of workers they get to lay off so they have less people to pay.
My father started his law enforcement career in a crown Vic and had one up until 2012 when his department switched to dodges. He puchased it from auction and gave it to me as my first car. I still have it to this day.
9 years later and this still hits hard. Farewell crown vic. I may have feared you the most but you still have a special place in my heart even if it did include some points on my driving record.
The car group I'm with held our last meet up of the year at the empty lot that used to be home to the St Thomas plant. We're a Crown Vic group, so it was pretty cool to have all our cars back where they were built. (Side note, we may or may not have had some fun and put some new tire marks on the parking lot while we were there lol)
That car is going to be worth more then any other Crown Victorian because it was the last car ever built with signatures of the people that built it. I got teary eyes too Robert Smith lol
Ford should have continued to make them as Cobras and Super Cobras. Mercury Marquis had a Marauder, sniff, sniff. We should have had a Cobra, Super Cobra, Cobra Jet, something more than worn out interceptors and an embossed bumper cover like the Marauder. When will they learn to stop killing the great ones?
George Rivera i agree it seems every fucking time we fall in love with those cars they cut there throats or give it a "revamp" that kills what we love about them. 😟😥
Jacob Evans There was Torino Cobra and Cobra Jet, . Only Mustang Cobra more recently. A cobra is tuned suspension and HO engines. CVs Interceptors already have those.

Lupax Why did they stop producing this awesome icon of a car anyway? And also, is there any chance that Ford will relaunch it like they did with the Explorer? (but not with the you know quality problems and issues)
Got my 1999 Marquis still with the family since 2000 and running strong as ever. From a Mercedes Benz E class to the Marquis due to financial issues and I am loving this car more than any Mercedes I ever drove. The last of the great American vehicles.
Stephen Williams My grandmaw just gave me her 1992 Grand Marquis. It only has 46,000 miles on it.
Gabrial Hazell Damn old lady driven and never beat on?? Lol
holy crap, i'm jealous. wanna trade my 2012 Focus for it? lel

I started out on patrol in a 2010 Crown Vic. I'm in a '16 Taurus now and as nice as it is, I miss that Vic every damn night.
The Taurus and Explorer are big pieces of crap compared to the Crown Vic. Those are throw away cars, the Vic was built to last👍🏼
@@rickhunter6513 unfortunately even the taurus has been discontinued. Idk why but chevy and ford are discontinuing most of their sedans like the impala, fusion....
Nexus 104 it is quite sad that companies like Kia/Hyundai are still making sedans and US companies gave up.
The Impala and Taurus were good cars, just not for everyday police usage
@_jeff _ yeah times have changed, but the CV will never be forgotten
God I miss mine. Rarely ever had to take it to the shop and when I did it was a hour or two tops and usually under a hundred bucks. Only time it stayed over was for an engine swap (312k miles). Old girl lived through four snowstorms, drove cross country, countless miles thrown on her, and ultimately gave her life to protect me in a head on collision I walked away from with no more then a headache and a broken heart lol. A legendary vehicle.
What's bad Is that people purposely destroy crown vics in movies and tv shows now. It just makes me feel bad every time I see that happen
Just think of all the senseless deaths of perfect Crown Vics because of the worthless shit in the White house
to be fair i think most of the ones in movies are ones that were in accidents that left them as write offs (bent frame for example) new body panels are installed to make them look not wrecked before crash
or at least this is what i tell myself when i see this
Not all the time, I actually have a friend that builds them and he always buys clean title vehicles.
Ford SuperDuty I really wish the owner of this last one takes good care of it, it'll be in a museum someday.
Good thing is, we'll always see them in movies as long as there's a steady supply of written-off Crown Vics.
We'll always remember them, even if the cops won't use it.
God damn it. This is ridiculous... I had tears in my eyes at the end... The last true classic American car...

sure its sad but im sure you will see them for many years to come i work on these cars and they are tanks
At least there's some still being used by police
Probably not too much longer sadly. They are reaching the point in the mileage where police departments have no choice but to retire them :(
Around 100k miles many are sent to auction and will be a good car for another 100k. $500 a year for repairs is one monthly car payment for those buying a new car
Many are being replaced with the Dodge Charger

Just bought a p71 (2006) yesterday for my first car, already in love with it, one of the best cars for a civi for many reasons in my opinion
Agreed, great cars, big, reliable, decent power and speed, not great on gas, but i like the trade off that they are huge cars that can carry lots of stuff. I use mine for camping and can fit numerous people and all their stuff in the car. They're great

It's unfortunate to see Ford discontinue the Crown Vic.

The Crown vic always had a simple face
As an Aussie I know how you feel American's, the crown vic's Australian cousin the Ford Falcon was discontinued in 2016 after over 50 years of production in Australia, (such a sad day). It was another 4 door body on frame car, available in sedan, station wagon or as a ute (pickup), V8 or inline 6, ever reliable with some examples doing over 1,000,000kms as Taxis, Police cars and daily drivers. I love this car and would never trade it for anything else
also I feel you I was also in depression and still depressed over many things and just recently my great grandma (mother of my grandpa I was talking about) died 3 days ago. I feel like shit but remember many memories of the past. also sorry for your loss.
