I just can’t say enough about how beautiful that angel fish tank is. I love the way the light comes in now. All your pond moving around does sound ambitious, but so cool! I love the cats and snake it's so cool grandpa 😂 gives her a chance to try to hunt. Also love to the rescue for chocolate. Your the best pet dad ever. Love to meet Mrs fishroom, but maybe she is just camera shy like me and most women. The shrimp are also awesome. You gotta love boss man ziggy and his ball. I love guppies glad you have them. The turtle idea is great would be grand to see. Love the tub Idea and the Bonsi are awesome. I'd love to see you have a large koi pond. Them Cane toads are a mess I'm sorry for the inconvenience of them nature should be kept as is no invasive species. That was fun, Adrian! I am not a fan of snakes. Reminds me of the Indiana Jones movie - "Why does it always have to be snakes?" 🙂 I love the ponds. I'm going to have to figure out if we can pull that off here. The summers can get brutal - 120F (49C)! Maybe in a shaded area, but when the air temperature stays that hot the water really heats up too. Even in the shade. The little outflow strainer that you setup on the new round pond from your daughter looks like a strainer used on the pickup tube of an airless paint sprayer. I like the idea of that type of strainer for keeping little fry and shrimpies from flowing right out. Better, I think, than the black plastic ones. I'm off to re-watch your video on the bio-barrels. Yep they are doing just fine from what I can see, but they are still so incredibly tiny that it’s hard to tell. I do feature them in this weeks upcoming video for an update and whilst I haven’t seen the footage I’m hoping that I capture them in that clip. even now they would just about the at the size of a newborn, rainbow fish. G'day Adrian, Another great video. I don't know what the fish breeding equivalent to a 'green thumb' is, but you definitely have it! I am intrigued about you adding soda water to a tank; what is the purpose, how much do you add and how often? PS: Can you get Harlan to feed Bluey just to see whether he gets nipped? 😁😇
Ha that’s funny and yeah I would do that ! lol and the co2 does the same thing as the usual co2 except you don’t need any expensive equipment. I buy a 75c x 1.25 L bottle of soda water and put in a specific amount per tank depending on its size.
The CO2 that you apply like that has more chance of killing your fish and shrimp if you screw it up, however, if you only add small amounts, increasing each time until you get the growth you are looking for you will do fine. For example, with my orange desk Shrimp tank I would add approximately 30 ml x morning noon for a week and if I don’t notice the plant growth increasing, I would up the dosage to 40 ml three times a day and check it again. Hope that makes sense.
DONT ADD IT AT NIGHT- only during daylight hours with high light at those times 🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶

Always enjoy hanging out with you and Ziggy! Question, how do you keep your outdoor ponds from getting too warm in the summer? I live in Texas and would like to setup some tubs but worried about the heat.
Good question! It’s a combo of where I put them (trees safe in summer) the floating plants on top are HUGE at reducing temp as well as nitrates and if needed (rarely) I would give a water change say 20% of colder water if it’s “boiling” on any particular day.
I also will cut palm tree leaves and lay over the ponds to give shade as well on the extreme days too

Love visiting the fish room and what you're up to. Always interesting. Did I catch a row of $40 Kmart tanks @ at 12:30? They're about 20 litres? I'm in mixed minds about these tanks. They're cheap and readily available but limited in space to do much with. I used one as a beta tank and another for dwarf cory's, CPD's and ottos (together).
I'd love to learn about your experience with them - the pros with how they've helped in the fishroom, and their limitations. Or what didn't work. I've found that pothos growing in them, it doesn't take long for their roots to severely diminish swim room. So I use slower growing plants instead.

They are ideal for line, breeding Shrimp, and up to 20 Guppies and yes, at the same time in the same tank, and they are brilliant for small once they leave my fry rack as a first stage grow out. I love them.🙏🐶🦘❤️🇦🇺 And I’m happy to talk about them in upcoming videos.
@@AdriansFishroom Thanks for your reply. Sounds like your experience is similar to mine, when surprised what they can hold with livestock numbers - but in my case, limited space makes for the right plant, hardscape and tech selections.
I tried going low tech with a hang-on filter, and lots of plants, but wasn't getting the circulation. Detritus was building up on the sand. So I added the original kmart filter, turned upside down, to blow the detritus towards the the hang-on filter. I purchased the hang-on filter to eliminate the kmart one, but ended up using both!
The plant selection needed to be better too. I started with 2 types of pothos, a mini monstera and spider plant, which took over the tank in 3 months. Swapping out the spider plant for a slower growing Aglaonema (Chinese evergreen) reduced the rats nest of roots. If I was keeping shrimp, I imagine those plant roots would be perfect. But with fish, they needed the swim room.
Needless to say, I would love to see a video on your experience with the tanks, when you have the time.

Hmmmm I would think no, it will get too cold for them.
Have you tried Chinese white cloud minnows or the golden ones ? They will survive as will Medaka Rice fish and also goldfish would all work.

Ha ! That’s funny. No, they are just standalone still ponds. The same as Lucas from LRB aquatics uses. The guppy grass and other plants do an amazing job, keeping the water pristine and I have no issues at all not having any filtration or air in the tanks at all. Yes it is, and I bought it that way … I haven’t turned my hand to glass blowing yet but that would be pretty cool. Lol I think I paid $120 for it and then I retrofitted a bio under gravel system for it. It’s about to have an overhaul, so I will be rescaping that again in the future video. Thanks for your support.
