Mr. Zig was keeping you on your toes! He’s so cute 😂
This was really a great restoration and so cool to see. I love to see things reused instead of thrown out. Now your neighbors have a piece of the hobby in their homes and hopefully in their hearts.
The tank restoration was cool enough but I just adored the scape you created within too. Stunning eye. The fish choice works SO well too. Lots of contrast with the green plants and orange swords, plus blue acaras. And not shy either, they’ll really put on a nice show I think. Love it ❤
Excellent demonstration to systematically set up and stock a fish tank
Ziggy you are the star , and it is wonderful you don't ignore him because their lives are so short and wondeful.
Agree on all points they are blessings to have in our lives and Ziggy is very aware that he is becoming a star. Lol.😂 🙏🐶🇦🇺❤️🦘💪🏻
Oh my gosh, where to start? I finally got to watch the video of our tank makeover. I'm so grateful and beyond thrilled at the result. I just can't believe you've achieved a result like this for such a small amount of money - it's just blown me away! I love the river-style hardscape and find it so mesmerising. Who needs TV when you've got such an awesome tank to stare at for hours? It's my new zen! The plant and fish life are incredible. I've already found my favourite fish - one of the larger electric blue acaras (I'm assuming it's a male?) is so cute, he's already following me around. My daughter's started naming the fish; our favourite acara is called 'Louie', one of the Swordtails is now call 'Samurai', a Corydoras Sterbai is called 'Ecgberht' and one of the Bristlenose catfish is called 'Algae'. We discriminately haven't named any of the snails yet. 😄 The fish seem really happy and relaxed in this tank. I'm so impressed by the constant-siphon water-drain system, sponge air filters and of course, the excellent restorative work done to the tank stand and lid. This is quite literally the Lamborghini of fish tanks my friend and I'm very much looking forward to having a few beers with you as we sit and stare at this veritable masterpiece.
I’m so pleased that you like it bro…. I was hoping I wouldnt stuff it up. 😂
@@AdriansFishroom There was no chance of that mate! We're just loving this tank - it's now the centrepiece of the living room.
Looks great in every aspect! The way you restored it, the design and the fish choice. All very nice.
Had me hooked the whole way, love a good restoration and utilising nature to save some $$ is great. That hardscape would've cost more than the whole project if bought at the shop 😂
Love the final product too, looks natural and beautiful, great job mate, thanks for the hard work on this vid 👌
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it. I really appreciate your support 🙏❤️🇦🇺🐶💪🏻🦘🙌🏻
Love it! Zig made all my dogs run through the house looking for the barking dog!
Very nice aquarium make over. Beautiful! It looks like you must live in Paradise ✨
Excellent tank! Really enjoyed this video. Helps so much watching the process instead of just seeing the end product. Thank you.
Oh, that’s so cool to know I’m really glad that you enjoyed it and thanks so much for your support🙏🐶🇦🇺🦘
@@AdriansFishroom oh and I meant to ask what’s the idea behind tweaking the sponge filter? Thanks Adrian.
Magic eraser sponges are good for cleaning stains on glass. Cheap to buy too.
I love these types of videos people my age think i am weird just for being in the aquarium hobby
Well then we are all weird ! lol I have young kids and all ages up to 80 plus that enjoy our awesome hobby and we are proud to be weird and have you with us. 😍I was 5 years old when I started 🙏❤️👍🏻🇦🇺🦘🐶
Wow you ready out did yourself that tank is amazing from top to bottom inside and out. Great job.perfect choice of fish. Thanks for sharing
I’m so pleased that you enjoyed it! It’s settled in beautifully now. I will do an update too.🙏❤️💪🏻🐶🇦🇺
I really enjoyed this video, it will be interesting to see how the aquascape progresses over time.
Love your videos Adrian especially the bloopers at the end. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and tips very jealous of where you live and what is around you. Keep up the good work.
That’s so nice of you to say and thanks so much for your support and letting me know.🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶💪🏻
I love blue ginger, not really blue, and not a real ginger, but an awesome plant I have and propagate at my place too.
I found out the same things when I researched it lol but an amazing plant that’s for sure.🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶
Awesome video. I really like the DIY plumbing you did on the automatic drain system.
Sweeeet ! I’m stoked mate, hope it helped and thanks so much for the support 🙏🦘❤️🇦🇺🐶
Fantastic video as always. The turbo charged filters and permanent siphon blew my mind a little (30 years of Fish keeping and I never thought of that 🙄🤪) looking forward to your next edition 😊
Ah I’m so pleased to hear that ! Now you have a new project or two ! lol 🙏❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
CLR should do a bang up job and i did not know it was safe to use. Great tip Adrian.
It’s OK to use as long as you give the tanker good rinse out afterwards and I’ve never had any problems to date. Thanks for your support. It really means a lot.🙏❤️🦘🐶🇦🇺💪🏻
Amazing video AB, loved your fishroom when Nick covered you. So happy to watch your videos. Love the detailing and information. All the best bro!
Awesome, thank you! I truly appreciate the feedback and support 🙏much love 😎🙏💪🏻🦘🇦🇺🐶👍🏻🙌🏻
Wow looks awesome! How lucky are you to have tank supplies at your farm. I think I’d be like you and spend a lot of time by the creek! Great video, great aquascqpe!
Thank you and yeah I reackon you would ! lol 😂 it’s awesome down there.🙏❤️
Love seeing the garden while you work through this and then also you letting us know about pricing as well -- I'm new to to hobby but I love a good DIY
Awesome! Thank you and I stoked it may have helped you 🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶💪🏻🙌🏻
I don't know if you have 3m wood rot repair over their but does wonders to make rotted out areas restored. Always easier though to replace the easy rotted out areas
Thanks for the tip. I will definitely check it out and see if I can find some great to know. Thanks for your support.🙏🇦🇺🐶❤️🦘💪🏻
i'm only here to see Ziggy lol just kidding love your content AB esp the bloopers kidding again you did a top job. quacking beautiful aquascape
Ha that’s so funny and I really really appreciate you taking time to let me know. I don’t think there’s any chance of me getting overly professional too soon, so the bloopers will be there for awhile. Lol and I agree Ziggy is definitely the star of the show.🙏❤️🐶🦘🇦🇺💪🏻
@@AdriansFishroom Ziggy is possibly the best looking terrier I've seen on UA-cam
Love the idea of tank rescue for content, and love the way this one turned out!! I've got this size of tank too - houses a small musk turtle - needs a rescape and this has given me some ideas!
Also, besides being fish nerds, I have to say - I can really appreciate someone who uses the work "quack" so often - such a satisfying word, LOL!!! Kim from Canada :)
Ha ha ha yes that’s so true and I think us Aussie and you Canadians are alike that way. Lol something to do with being ruled by the British I guess lol thank you so much for your support🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘💪🏻
Just got two older 65 gallon tanks. Going to refurbish and loved the video. Got some great tips.
Legend ! Glad it helped and thanks so much for your support 🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶💪🏻
What a beautiful tank. Your neighbors must be really great people.
Thanks so much and yes, they are. We are very lucky to have good friends that live so close.💪🏻🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘
That's a very kind thing to say Darryl! 🙏 We're also blessed to have Adrian living next door as a neighbour and friend.
Lots of good information Adrian, I need to work on my plumbing skills. Thanks for showing your process :)
Awesome ! And you’re very welcome. Thanks so much for your support and go the hard on the plumbing skills 😂 🙏❤️🇦🇺🐶🦘
Awesome tank😊
Ah cheers, I really appreciate that and thanks for the support 🙏❤️🙌🏻🐶🇦🇺🦘
Adrian I knew there was something I liked about you. Yup I’m a fish nerd, yup fire protection installation is my job ( plumbing ).
That scape is phenomenal!! You see my problem is I don’t have the confidence to go out and pick up rock and scape. I’m afraid I’ll add not safe for tank scaping.
Barefoot is good keeps you grounded. Just so happens on while walking the dog this weekend we ran into a 6’ black racer ( a constrictor ) scared the pujesus out of us. It was crossing our path, and started shaking its tail in the leaves. Thought it was a rattler😂. Great video great content see you you next time✌️🦐🐟🤙
Hi, thanks mate.
Yep, plumber by trade and my son-in-law has a fire protection company of his own too 🙌🏻 i’m stoked. Im stoked you like the videos and I wouldn’t overthink the collection of the Hardscape too much. Just do your best to take it from as clean and area as you can and even better after rain. I’ve never had any issues here. Thanks so much for your support. I really appreciate it.🙏🇦🇺❤️🐶🦘💪🏻
Another great video! I’m not a swordtail fan usually but those babies are gorgeous!
Thank you! They are huh… good start up tank mix for them I think 🤔 🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶
Great video, AB! That tank set up is amazing! I like the ease of the water changes! I’ve got that same MD shirt lol Bet I’ll be sporting an Adrian’s Fishroom shirt if they ever hit the market :) Thanks for the video, bro!
Ha thanks legend,
I love his stuff and who knows maybe one day. Lol.🙏❤️🐶🐶🇦🇺💪🏻
Nice one Adrian.. you’ve inspired me to set up my 2 foot tank and scape similar to what you have done.. I have just recently set up a 4 foot tropical community tank which i have covered in Pothos copying your fish room. Keep up the awesome videos mate..
That is awesome! And so cool to know. I truly appreciate you letting me know and thanks so much for support.🙏❤️👍🏻🐶🇦🇺🦘
great job Adrian! the tank is beautiful! ty for the nice long video. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
My pleasure!! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I was a little concerned it was too long ! lol💪🏻🙏🇦🇺🐶❤️🦘
you could never do a "too long video" lol! 😊 your peeps love you!
I just loved every bit of this video ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks a lot for sharing it with us
Awesome video again mate. You’ve got me inspired to find a fixer upper 👍
Just wanted to say your content is fantastic. You have such a unique property and fish room, and being able to see that in full is tremendous. Not too many other Fish Keeping UA-camrs knock out this style of long form content that is just day to day goings on.
You're crushing it Adrian 👌👌
Wow, thank you! That’s so nice to hear and I really appreciate you telling me and for all of your support🐶🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘💪🏻
Great video, different. I'm really enjoying your style. Please keep it going❤
Well that looked like a really fun project, Adrian! It was certainly fun to watch. I got t do something similar with a used tank I got on an online second hand site called OfferUp. I do love a good project. In fact, right now I'm still pretty soaked from doing sprinkler repairs out front. 🙂I really like the midification to the sponge filters. That's a terrific idea. So I'm guessing there's a water/air stream coming from the 90 at the top? And you can pretty much point it in whichever direction you want as well? I'll have to give that I try. I really like the idea of the permanate drain as well. I think I'm going to set that up on my 75 gallon with a hose connector on the end so I can connect up a piece of garden hoes and drag it out of the garage onto the front lawn. As always, thanks for a terrific share, Mate! I go t a load out of it.
On a side note: once upon a time I watched either Cory or Dean (Aquarium Co-Op) modify a smpnge filter to accept an air stone to break up the bubbles coming up the lift tube. I made a short video doing it, and if it's not too presumptuous here's a link. Feel free to disregard it.

Cheers,Mate! ~Ron
Awesome mate, and yep they allow you to change water easily with a tap and also change the water flow to any direction in the air filters.
Def have a go mate and I will check out the link. 🙏🙏🙏
@@AdriansFishroom I've got plans runnin' wild in my head now! I think this is really going to simplify things. Have a great week! Cheers!
This tank turned out great! It looks so natural, I love it!
For my tanks I collected wood and river rocks from the creeks as well but was very unsure if that's ok. When you look at other people on youtube everyone buys their hardscape.
I just cleaned everything with fresh water and put it in. It worked well but it seems that the river rocks increased the PH over time. Did you experience the same? I am happy to see that you use materials from nature as well.
That is awesome! And def keep doing that. 🙌🏻 some rocks def will increase the PH which is great for Fish that like it like that, and if you have Fish, that don’t, you can always add a heap of almond leaves or leaf litter to reduce the pH back down and counteract the rocks as in when required. Natural is always best.🙏🇦🇺❤️🦘🐶🙌🏻💪🏻
@@AdriansFishroom yes, that's what I did. Indian almond leaves and more water changes (we are on tank water which is really low in PH) and I am at PH 7.4 now. Fish seem to do well, so I don't mess around.
MD merch wicked and awesome video i was woundering about a drain pipe and how they work i mostly change water by hand
Glad I could help !😍and the water changes are super easy once you make the effort to set it up. You will be very happy you did I’m sure🙏❤️👍🏻🇦🇺🐶🦘
Would love a video on corydoras...I had some sterbai that died off one by one
Hey there… yep you’re in luck.🍀 lol I’m going to do a video on all my Corys and how I breed them, plus another one on my lake Tanginyikans and another one on my lake malawi cichlids all coming up.🙏❤️🙌🏻💪🏻🇦🇺🦘🐶
Tank turned out beautiful! You think the fish poop will be enough to fertilize the plants?
Yeah I do as the Corys will break it all down further and make it more useable for them and if needed I would add a small root tab in for the amazons after a month or so.🙏❤️🐶🦘🇦🇺💪🏻
I was worried about the upload thank the heavens you did I love the tank rescue/kids tanks idea. That's epic and a boost to our hobby thanks friend 😊 I also love the idea of teaching how to reshape old tanks and or plan your new ones out I have three re dos and 3 new ones plus a small patio pond bowl as my mission for this summer in the us.. I think we should deputize Riley. Sheriff Ziggy and Deputy Riley. Best mates and the law of Australian fish keeping lol 😂 . That is such a beautiful creek/ river scape you need to do competition. It's extremely lovely!!!!❤ can't believe the hard scape you have at your place. The plants are awesome. Fish stock was epic as well 🎉🎉
That’s a really awesome message to read and I agree ! lol I’m so pleased that you like the content and vids and you will def be able to smash out those tanks and ponds for sure ! Send me some pics on Instagram when you do… I love seeing what art people create and if I can inspire some of it then wow 🤩 💪🏻🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🙏
Easy come , easy go!!!! Gorgeous scape A B , hopefully in a few weeks we shall see how everything is going, and make sure everyone there is not being overwhelmed with the unnecessary over feeding..... it's not that hard to do especially when everything is still very vulnerable but otherwise I have a lot of faith in your experience and I am sure it's going to have a huge difference in the future of your awesome and incredibly generous renovation and I would love to see what you have coming next!!!!!
Such a lovely message, thank you for your support and yep I will def do an update on it for sure 🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘
4:28 Not throwing things away I got that part, but the fixing part hmmm maybe not so much. 😂
Ha ha ha… practice makes perfect and I’m always practicing! lol 🙏❤️🐶🦘🇦🇺💪🏻
Fantastic job! I was some what doubtful that it could be restored but you turned it into a beautiful showpiece!
Thank you very much! I was happy with the results and stoked you enjoyed it.🙏👍🏻❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘
Absolutely love the make over
The scape looks fantastic looks so natural.
200 plus sterabi sounds like you better send a heap over to me to stick in my 6.5 foot so mine have some more friends 🤣🤣
Great idea doing a makeover video. I use uplift on my tanks outside but never seen them used like that before, what a great idea.
Love the water change siphon.
Great work
Thanks so much ! I loved your message and that’s very cool…. They would need a 6footer too !
lol 🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘
@@AdriansFishroomAll of my Stetbai I have bred for the tank, now unfortunately the eggs just get gobbled up as soon as they are laid. I do see the occasional one in the tank or sump. They must be the lucky ones.
The tank is near 800 lt with the sump
Awesome. But the dige intro is the best 😂 I found aluminum tape worked better for reflecting. I wish more people would opt for sponge filters.
Absolutely love your content, I'm so glad you decided to start this channel! Question about your scape; With just sand substrate, how are you getting nutrients to the sword and other root plants? Did you use root tabs?
Thanks so much for the awesome support and no nothing at this stage unless it needs it. The new tank will vary for a bit and having less is best during that phase I believe…. If plants are deficient they will die over many weeks, so you have tons of time to catch h it. Alternatively if the tank spikes the plants not having much in the way of nutrients (root tabs) take it thru the leaves and roots as it becomes available (as in nature) and they quickly neutralize the tank parameters again.
I like to think of it as a buffer, then after say 3 months look at the swords and only if needed add one tab broken up for the whole tank and even distributed on the plants that need it. Hope that helps.🙏🙌🏻❤️🦘🇦🇺🐶
Great vid yet again. Your content is really refreshing and imaginative. I love the scape, plant and fish selection. I too grew up in the "fix it, never throw sh!t out it might come in handy one day" era and not the throw away society we live in.
Great job on the restore/revitalize. Thanks for sharing!
Oh btw where did you get the pipe/hose baskets/guards?

This is great!!! Thanks for the tips with the filters and foil. Could you have used high gloss paint under the lid or used it reflective enough?
Yes you can for sure, anything reflective would work great.😌 🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶💪🏻
Very nice restoration, it turned out beautifully.
Job well done, mate!
Thank you very much! I was happy with it and the family was stoked so, it all worked out 🙏🇦🇺🦘🐶❤️

Always look forward to your videos. Did you silicon straight over the old silicon? I was under the impression you had to remove all the existing silicon. I have a leaky 6' tank to redo.
Thanks so much and yep I went over the old. It really depends on how bad a leak and try and double triple coat the area. Remove any old loose silicone, but the rest leave in place. 🙏🤞🙌🏻👍🏻🐶💪🏻🇦🇺🦘❤️
Gday Adrian, love the content. Whats the purpose of the piping modifications on the sponge filters? Is it to provide flow to the tank?
Greater flow that can now be directed and also it super charges the pick up rate of the filters 🙏❤️
Came for the tanks, stayed for the doggy, kangies, and didgeridoo
Ha that’s so funny ! 😂 love it and thanks so much for the support 🙏❤️🐶🇦🇺🦘

how does the plants grow in inert substrate ?
Amazingly well…. I am doing an update video on the tank again his month, they have gone crazy in there.🙏👍🏻❤️🐶🙌🏻🦘🇦🇺💪🏻

What silicone do you use?
Thanks so much and just the basic transparent neutral cure silicone from bunnings 🙏❤️🇦🇺🦘🐶💪🏻
Co op sponge filter is not better than a fine sponge negative drawback of co-op sponge filter it is a motel for small snail, scuds and probaly baby fishes to squeeze their self in ... i had co-op until it became a house for my scuds and rams horn snail. Nahhhhh went back to fine sponge much better
