Joke aside, it's amazing to see how far Keisuke progress through the stages. He went from an average FD driver from stage 1,2, & 3, to a FD Specialist in Stage 4 in either hillclimb or downhill races, to a "terrifying racer" in Stage 5 as Takumi describe him when Keisuke is about to beat the NSX. Keisuke wasn't as talented as Takumi, his training & teaching from Ryosuke were harsh and cruel. His journey is.. imo more interesting than Takumi.

Bunta would pass Keisuke before the 5 hairpins and as Keisuke himself does a drift at the 5 hairpins, Bunta will already be on the other side of the road drifting in the opposite lane going uphill. Keisuke would go to a mental asylum for depression if he doesn’t himself over the gigantic humiliation of trying to race the god king Bunta.
He literally explains in the episode right after he loses to Takomi that his car didn't get a chance to use all its horsepower yet he's like, loosing to a less powerful car is the biggest disgrace.
The idea is that you have more horses, so the cornering should be similar and on straights you should be faster. He lost because the other driver was FAR more skilled than he, as they said, he had a small aura, takumi had a massive one.
i wouldn't mind seeing a stage zero where we learn of bunta's past and what he was driving before the AE86---- somehow i think he bought that car to tame down from whatever he was driving

Meanwhile Takumi was probably just chilling and learning how to make Tofu as all the responsibility of the shop was now laid onto his shoulders.

This is a neat what-if edit. Bunta would definitely whoop Keisuke in his yellow FD. Hell, I think he would easily whoop Ryosuke even with his cunning strategy.
I think they should do a series abt the Red Suns or the Takahashis like how they did for Impact Blue, imagine if Ryosuke raced Mako and Mako only (no sayuki)
