@@TheTankClub Likewise, I even left feedback saying taunting should be changed a bit as its quite underwhelming. Hopefully they find a nice balance niche for defensive playstyles to shine more in the future
Great video, using similar stats, but the left click and "E" attack is not working for me. I have to spam a couple more left clicks to get the skill refreshed. Any ideas?
I often have similar problems usually in any Reaver Woods content, everywhere else its fine. I think it's just a game problem where it lags between you pressing it and the game knowing, potentially you press it too fast for the game to realise but hopefully the performance side of the game is optimised in the future because there are a lot of issues in the later content.
Nice build and making it now, don’t usually go tanks in games but living this…only issue I have seems to be that righteous strike doesn’t refresh as often as it sounds in the video…not sure if I’m doing something wrong
This might be pretty good in the future when heroic content is added but for now ill continue to run my weapon power/break power SnS build. I can get around 8500-9000 weapon power and 3k break power and still have around 2.5k health. Enemies break instantly so i get weapon ability pips constantly with the "press the advantage" mastery and my attacks do innane amounts of damage with all that weapon power. Often times all i need to do i jump heavy attack into the middle of a group of enemies, break them all almost instantly, get full pips, and unleash weapon ability. Its pretty nutty. I like your build, though, and it may be necessary in the future to move more toward something like you have here. Good stuff

Can you talk about why you go weapon power over ability power? Especially with spamming the righteous spam every third hit. Also does any of his healing scale with max hp or is that just for defence?
If you want to maximise "support" then you'd go with Ability Power as this does more damage but also more healing, the reason for Weapon Power is that every light attack, alt weapon attack and weapon ability all scale on Weapon Power so when you're buffed up and at 200% on your combo hitting light attacks and alt attacks is doing way more damage than 1 righteous strike. Things will likely change drastically as the game develops and Tanking becomes more prominent with endgame content.
Great vid but I have one point you should note... On a recent AMA the devs said getting 29 affinity points is a bug, and will be fixed so we get 30 - that means we can max two character affinities.
quick question abouth this great build i put my points wrong so cant respec it i got the same as you but with the diffrence all of it in instinct then 9 in disciplin and only 5 in focus would this build work with that?
That would work fine, you're losing a great perk but it's not the end of the world. The build would still work and the Affinity can be fixed at a later date when respec is added
I've also tried that and the damage is great but the Sword and Shield combat is so fluid, the DPS is good enough, and I've carried my group to victory so many times thanks to the survival advantage of going with Sword and Shield

Wingrave is all I use rn since exp is messed up and I don’t have time to level other characters. I have noticed that I deal the same if not more damage as other DPS characters with a similar build. Really the only time I get out DPS’d is when someone is using the broken shotgun lol.
If you've stacked up Weapon Power, you're going to do good damage while being really Tanky. You won't have some of the crazy burst DPS I've seen from other characters/weapons but it's respectable enough to do all content in the game and not die which is also important
There have some who have done testing on how effective defence is. Both magic and phy defence is about 1 flat dmg reduction per 100 points of defence, so not really worth building at the moment. If you want any survivability put it towards hp and resilience
Yeah I have mentioned in the video to focus on Health & Resilience, from the testing I've done myself Defense isn't worth focussing on entirely, depending on the weapon I use it just naturally stacks up!
Would be nice if the accessories feather of war, and fang of the beast actually dropped. I have run beast master 50 times, and not one drop. I also have had more freezes, disconnects, and failures to launch then I can count. Running this build without the accessories. Good build, fun....

I wish we could max all the abilities, as the word builds for abilities, is non-existent, Judgement and his ult are not worth touching for upgrades as righteous strike and Radiant shield are leagues ahead of the other two. waiting on the SnS Bastion haha

I agree which is why this is a Tanky Hybrid with more focus on damage because being 100% Tank isn't very useful, at least not until they add raids & heroic end game content 🙂
Can they just let us change the echo slots to what we want them to be like why are characters and weapons set on certain echo slots this is really annoying lol
We'll probably have more options to customise these in the future some way or another. You can already "see" more slots that we cannot use yet so it should at least be less of a problem when those become available 🙂
I went ability power over weapon power! because of how often you use righteous strike, you are able to do large damage and also large healing

If you use one basic attack and hold E for a shield attack, It will count as a combo finisher and reset RS instantly :3

I don't know what to say other than just keep running it, I have looted it myself so it does exist but it does not drop very often

Change that Codex Initiative to frostbeak echo for 332 health and 277 to defense stats on 1 echo

The 29 ability puts is a confirmed bug. When they patch it you will have 30.
