Niss improved ability gives piercing up to 50% with the dash, and a staggering 100% piercing while in ultimate ( the shadow form that allows ability spam ) making break power on niss a dump stat, incentivising you to really reach for that weapon power to take advantage of the passive of daggers that double hit on each attack ( blade dance buff + extra weapon power ) ability power cause of the spam and the fairly high dmg of the shadow step ( the shadow missile thrown at every dash you make, evade and ability ) and crit.
Hey thanks for this comment, so far I've only ran Niss and I've skipped out on break power (mostly a lack of understanding is why I didn't add to it) and after watching this I was thinking I had spec'd wrong. This video added a bunch of understanding and your comment helped me understand my character better. Thanks to both of you!
@@sankentris Every character has base stats and Niss has very low break power. Typically you don't want to build characters for a stat they are very low in. Just for reference when doing future builds

In response to - what else do you want to see? - I think a breakdown of attack sequencing, combos etc. I don't think a lot of players realize weaving light and heavy attacks, sprint into heavy, jump into heavy attack etc lead to all different kinds of attacks and combos and animations. I'd be super interested in some min/max dps type breakdown of attack combos.
This. A lot of people see the combat as "too simplistic" as well as character progression, without actually knowing the nuance. It's simple on the surface, but really in-depth with nuanced inputs and passives. Which is exactly why they're asking for fucking combos on the suggestion form. Bruh.

Venomess poison ignores armor so you may wanna give her high Crit Chance - and High Ability Power to deal as much damage with Venom and Poison as possible
While S&S has that additional break damage passive, I'd note that executioner weapons also has a mastery specifically for dealing additional break damage as well. I believe the beginner axe also has their momentum skill specifically targetting break damage too.
I think break power is overrated. Its nice, but I tried it to be point where I break enemies on first or second hit. 3 hits for very tough enemies... however, ability power and weapon damage makes Wingrave actually unstoppable
I got lost at the Black Image Shown on the Damage Formula, how does that point you to all enemies taking more damage from breaking their resilience? It's just a damage formula on how much Damage vs Break Damage your attack will do based on your Sword or Shield Combo. In my experience playing the game both Live and extensive BETA Tests, apart from Bosses, actually you do not deal more damage to enemies if you break their resilience bar, you will only stagger them - with a few exceptions like enemies effected by the Greed MIDAS effect. Would love to see findings if I you have more specifics to show.
From what I had tested in addition to what I had heard other people say, Resil splits incoming damage between both the bar, and the health bar unless it's broken depending on the level of resil the enemy has. The damage formula is just to show that certain different weapons will help negate this, with some dealing more damage to Resil bars, and some dealing more damage to health bars which then helps more so if there is no resil present. From doing further teammate testing in coop games, it also appeared that damage dealt by teammates jumped significantly once the bar was broken, indicating that their damage no longer was being hindered by the bar being up. If there is something incorrect there however, I'd been keen to know. I was not aware of the difference between bosses and enemies, so that's actually incredibly helpful to know if it's the case. Feel free to test away and get back to me.
Its importan for Wingrave yes, but Silo for example pierces the breakbar damage reduction with the marksman passive. Which makes it less imoprtant :P But otherwise good vid and ty for the info once im gonna try out melee combat :)
Swapping weapons is fine, but do be aware that weapons do not share levels, and you will lose power if you do not make sure the weapon you are swapping to is on level. Keep your levels on point to make sure your progression is not hindered
@@EpicNNGYeah, the wait was always 5 hours + every time I tried. I gave it like an hour wait to see how accurate the estimate was...and yup. 5+ hours. And now the servers are down entirely. I really want to play this! Once you're in....can you go idle? Make dinner? Take a nap? Or will it boot you for inactivity?
I never watched so much Asmongold since I started this early access. Doing laundry, reading email, I even went out dropping packages to the mailservice.
yeah it´s really easy with the MILLIONS of games out there to just create something completely unique. As long as the game is fun you shouldn´t be concered about any "ripoff" mechanic

Still waiting after 3 days. Got logged in for 30 minutes total. Got to the hub and immediately got kicked out after starting the first real dungeon.

Daggers have a Mastery Talent that deals +100% Break Damage when you parry. Great if you are stacking BP.

It’s honestly super fun. Minus the load times but they weren’t expected a “unfindable bug.” Que is only like 10 minutes now, at least for me
