Currently recovering from a total abdominal hysterectomy following a lumpectomy and radiotherapy, last year, for breast cancer. I’m 53, live in UK and my goal is to get back to my normal self, feeling physically fit and return to my beloved hobbies of dancing and Zumba. Thank you Jessica for your easy to follow routines with gentle encouragement along the way. You really have made a difference 🙏
I needed you in 2013 when my bladder dropped shortly after I started chemo for breast cancer. If I were to advise women who deal with cancer, I would steer them in your direction at the same time as to the oncologist. Your advise would have made my cancer journey easier and less stressful. Thanks for this advice. Ladies, take time to do this and save yourself time spent in doctors' offices as well as money! Thank you, Jessica Valant.
@@handsomeprince215lol what? I literally started doing these and all kinds of different pelvic floor exercises and I stopped leaking while jumping at my dance classes. So of course they work.
I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago. On follow up with my surgeon, I told him I was having a new problem with incontinence. He did not think it was related to surgery. Thank you for your informative demo about strengthening my pelvic floor muscles.
Fibromyalgia warrior... Been doing a lot of physical therapy and my pelvic is very weak. Im determined to make my life a lot easier and greatly appreciate your video. It helps a lot 👌🏾🤗
Jessica Valant, I love your no nonsense approach. You deliver so much valuable information that many UA-camr fitness instructors completely overlook. I'm 36. I've delivered 6 healthy babies in 10 years and I know my pelvic floor needs some work. I appreciate this so much. I love all of your pilates videos and have been trying to advance to intermediate workouts but noticed when I run that I have no stopper! Is it still ok to keep doing other core strengthening workouts even though I have pelvic floor weakness?
Dear Jessica, I am so happy I found your channel, I am 52 unfortunately I will have a procedure to remove a large fibroid, when can someone start these exercises ? Thank you , love your channel is much better than talking to the drs, you give us more advice !!
Two weeks post total hysterectomy and found you. Was totally thinking I’d never be able to move. Thank you for the info and inspiration. Mentally TH is a challenge so you help so many of us that felt lost after surgery. ❤️
I am 15 months post surgery, I am so thankful for these. My doc told me that my pelvic floor was healthy & did not need fixxing, but I still have a little incontinence, so I am happy to try these. Thank you for showing these.
This looks great. I’m exercise daily (yoga, Pilates, cycling, weights, elliptical). I think this would be a great addition to strengthen the pelvic floor!
I have been told I have pelvic issues. I can tell you that your three exercises have made that area work! I am going to follow you for 50 days as I am a senior who has had recent stomach surgery and I have fallen down due to not being stable with my pelvis out of alignment. If this works I will be forever grateful as I do not want surgery as I had L5-S1 in 2017 and it never fixed my health issues!
Thanks so much, Jessica! Your exercises hepled me heal thoracic spinal fractures, and now, the resultant pelvic floor issues. I feel stronger and better every day.
Awesome explanation of how to contract and relax the pelvic floor well! I've been looking for better cues for this and yours are excellent. Thank you! 🙏
I am 2 yrs post menopausal and don't tolerate any estrogen supps except flaxseed. I am already seeing a week bladder and was recommended to do these but have never seen it explained this way. Especially the quick flexes being what I need most. Thank you. You have helped my tight hips, newly found scoliosis and bladder. It's a bit funny, when the Dr says "you may want to find something to help X" - I wonder "does Jessica have a something on this? Thank you again.
What an informative video! When doing fast twitch kegels, 5 quick contractions count as 1 set (to use weighting lifting terms) & we should aim for 50 sets a day? Your version of kegels is the best I have found anywhere. Thanks!

Oh Jessica I am so happy I found your channel. I feel hopeful.I can relate to the woman who said she avoids intimacy because of it. I've been having issues with pelvic floor muscles for years. Holding urine even holding bowel movements sometimes.
I really love how you incorporated the breathing techniques into the exercises. The timing of my breathing was off and I wasn't contracting to my full potential. The breathing makes the exercises WAY more effective. I tend to stop and take deep breaths thoughout the day when I feel stressed. Now I can do both at the same time!
Thank you for sharing this exercises with us. I feel hopeless, difficult to talk about this problem loud , even I am 60. Two days ago get a pessary for bladder prolapse , so uncomfortable. probably more mentally stress, can't relax.
Thank you!! Only through getting help for a bulging disk did it become obvious that the root to my back problems was pelvic muscle dysfunction and prolapse bowel and bladder. Within days of starting the right physio exercises (like these ones in your video) did pain stop and strength begin. Bless you so much for your classes that help me understand better what my physiotherapist has given me for daily practice! ❤❤❤
I had a prostatectomy 3 months ago, and use multiple diapers during the day to capture my incontinence. Amazingly, I have complete control whenever I am sleeping, for 6 or 7 hours overnight or daytime naps. So my autonomic system knows what to do, even if my waking mind doesn' -- bizarre. My doctor referred me to a physical therapist, but my appointment is 6 weeks out, so I'm using online videos in the meantime to learn what I can, and appreciate your detail. I saw another of your videos where you had men focus on their scrotum rather than the vagina, which I found helpful. Thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to help us . I have extremely weak pelvic muscles and it’s come to the point where I am trying to avoid intimacy with my husband . Hi Jessica, love your videos. When you are doing the torso twist movement, are you holding the pelvic contraction or are you releasing it in the center? Love your work...
I've had two kids via c section within the last 6 years, after I got pregnant with my son 2 years ago I really struggled with my core strength and suffered a lot because of it. It's been a year and a half since I've had him and it hurts to do a sit up and do any regular exercises and really has discouraged me. I struggle with so much back and hip pain, been seeing a chiropractor and going for regular massage. Then It was finally mentioned to me about strengthening my pelvic floor and came across this video. Just did it and I gotta say this is working some muscles that have been so incredibly neglected, the best I can describe it is the muscles feel like jello, and I didn't even realize it because my back has been doing all of the work for so long.... Now I just have to keep up with it!
Well, I just had knee replacement surgery so I have to modify my position for some of these as my knee does not bend. However, I will definitely be doing these exercises as best I can for now. I definitely need these as I have a horrible pee problem and the doctors answer was to give me medication. I would rather try these as I think they will be a better solution and much easier on my “innards” than pills. Also gives me even more motivation to get my knee bending which is a good thing
Day 1. I plan on practicing this daily for the next 3 weeks. I’m 3 weeks post hysterectomy and found this was a wee bit challenging. The circulation throughout my spine and being able to feel those muscles warm up the best they could felt very much needed. Slowly but surely I will get there. !! Thanks for sharing this video !🎉
Thank you! I had prolapse surgery and complete hysterectomy and the doctor did not recommend any exercises. 3 years later, I know I need exercises it is not right. Thank you for sharing. I am starting slowly but 2xweeks after starting your videos. I feel better emotionally and physically. Why do doctors not let us know we need exercises after these experiences? Thank you!
That’s great this gives me hope, I had a hysterectomy 2 years ago and I feel a small feeling of heaviness in the pelvic area, it’s so scary! I’m always checking myself in the mirror and examining everything. Everything looks fine and I’m not leaking or having a problem stopping urine but I’m going to start doing this video daily. I do not want another surgery, hysterectomy was enough and dealing with hormone changes at 35. I started lift weights a year ago to lose extra weight caused by medical menopause. I really enjoy it and it’s helped me lose a lot of weight. I don’t want to have to stop because of pelvic issues so I’m going to have to go down on weight volume and increase reps plus this video daily. How are you doing now?
I have fibroids for 2 yrs now and keep searching for exercise to help me for my condition. So I came across to your channel to strengthen my pelvic floor. Thank you so much.

Hey Angela what were your symptoms?? I am struggling, I get like ab soreness, feels like I can’t walk with my legs far apart I get sore from going from a lying position to a sitting position.
@@KyleeMoran Try lying on your side and then sitting up instead of sitting straight up from your back. I had my last 3.5 years ago, and the prolapse was worse after than than my others, but I never felt bad so I wasn’t diligent about these exercises. Then about a month ago, it got significantly worse one day out of the blue. It felt like extreme pressure and some pain in my pelvis and between my legs like I was 9 months pregnant again. Doing prolapse physical therapy exercises daily has really helped me feel better over the last month, and I love how Jessica explains the muscle contraction in this video since I try to mix it up and find new exercises. Work on yours every day before it gets worse!
I had a super cervical hysterectomy 15yrs ago at 42yrs of age. I was recently told I am in menopause by my GYN. I have had pelvic/ groin pain for the last 9 months, as well as UTI’s (which I’ve only ever had twice in my life prior). I keep reading about pelvic pain during menopause but I’m not sure if these exercises are what I need. My pelvic bones hurt as well as my sit bones. Any feed back is welcomed. Thanks.
Can you make a video that we can go through all of these exercises, with you, doing the full 50 of each, with you adding cues for breathing and contracting?
Hi Jessica! Is it ok to do 25 in the morning and then 25 in the evening? I've been doing these exercises for a few days now and I can't believe how much better things feel already ☺️ Thank you Teri-lee
Teri what kind of symptoms have you had ? I suffer with pelvic floor pain alot of burning brought on by sitting..even just a few minutes of driving hurts. I need encouragement from people with same to see if this would help me. Its so bad most days. Any advice helps. Thanks.
hi, WHAT LEAKAGE you have in mind? My favorite aunt doesn't have to go often to the bathroom, but has leakage when got nervous, exited or when sneezes. She complains for going to the bathroom twice at night. (Before she went before the sleeping and in the morning) WILL YOUR ADVISES HER also to do some neck or/end upper spine and other keggel exersies? Please, answer :-)
Hi thank you for this video but I am so tired of doing excises and nothing happening started going to physio and it even more frustrating to me , I am ready too give up. You are so informative and have a sweet personalty. God bless you 🙏
Thank you so so much Jessica for this video! I have a really weak pelvis due to being hit by a car on my right lower back as a pedestrian back in 2006, back then I was lucky to come across a pilates physio/massage therapist who treated the trauma at the time. But now 2021 the pelvis becomes very weak due to chronic fatigue crashes and I've been trying to do the old pilates stuff I learned but I find that the whole hip area and glutes guard the pelvis so much. There is a lot of stiffness and pain that I don't get very far with the exercises. I feel these foundational exercises you've shown in this video are perhaps what I need to focus on first before I move on to anything else. 30 days is a gonna be a real challenge but if it will make my pelvis stronger, I'm game!

Hi Jessica I'm 12 weeks after my prolapse operation and so want to strengthen my pelvic floor thank you...x
Hey, could you tell me what the surgery was like?!
Thanks.
@@marys8884 Hello 🙏🙏
I can't do these. It makes me very uncomfortable.
@@marys8884 .
hi, WHAT LEAKAGE you have in mind? My favorite aunt doesn't have to go often to the bathroom, but has leakage when got nervous, exited or when sneezes. She complains for going to the bathroom twice at night. (Before she went before the sleeping and in the morning) WILL YOUR ADVISES HER also to do some neck or/end upper spine and other keggel exersies? Please, answer :-)
Hi thank you for this video but I am so tired of doing excises and nothing happening started going to physio and it even more frustrating to me , I am ready too give up. You are so informative and have a sweet personalty. God bless you 🙏
Is it fix able?Maybe u could try kegel🤗
You clearly didn't want the video 😂
Awesome exercises!
Thank you! I needed this👍
You doing wonderful work. Thanks
Thank you for sharing, great video
