Great Video. Thanks. I have had my Peace Lilly for 12 Years. I got it when my Mother in past. I am going to add a new peace lilly to it bc it need to be a bit more Fuller. So I bought one and I am going to add it to it. Let's see how it does.😊
Nice video. I just found a overgrown needed to be separated peace lily from my neighbors trash...score. You mentioned that you collected rain water to help and it does bc of nitrogen and stuff. Well if you can't collect sometimes...if you leave tap water out for a day or so it's less harsh on the plants because the chlorine gets less strong and other water treatment stuff. That was my tip. Happy gardening 💐
sarah, I'm Rita thanks so much for this video I've got a huge peace lily that is going to be separated for the first time and you have helped me so much on how to do the separation now I'm not so nervous thanks again
Kia ora Miss Bird, I love our peace lilly which we've had for about five years now. It's outgrown it;s pot and needs repotting. As didn't want to damage our loved one checked yr video out. Great advice and loved yr gentle touch. Thanks n take care in these testing times.
Love the vid! Just got myself a peace lily + a pothos plant and can't wait to watch them grow, and hopefully at some point, divide them and spread them around the house. I also plan on buying tons of other plants and plantifying the house :).
New subscriber 👋 I think you're doing great, I'm fairly new to plants too. My peace lily is doing great growing heaps of new leaves and a flower! 😄 You make great music, amazing work!
Great video. I forgot to water my Peace Lily for quite a few days in the warm weather we have had and it drooped really bad. I'm hoping it comes back but its been three days and nothing. So, you video has given me confidence to split one of my other ones into two. Thank you!
I find them quite resilient. We’ve been doing work on our new home and my peace Lily has been forgotten, and left dry for too long, put in the wrong spot and covered with dust. She always forgives me and is putting out new leaves. I’m sure yours will be fine! ☺️💚
Glad to find tjis video. I purchased my first P.L. and I love it. Its real look y full so I want to separate it. Im gonna check out ur DIY pots. Tfs your music is a good vibe!!
My peace lily looks like it'll need to be separated soon. Thanks for the advice, I've repotted it before but didn't know how to separate it without hurting it. Love your tattoo
Thank you so much! I have a huge Peace Lily that I received while in hospital last year. It has grown so much that I need to repot it and your video gives me the knowledge and courage to go for it. Also, the music is fantastic!
Hi Miss Bird! I'm a new subscriber. Have you ever collected rain water for your plants? I started doing it a couple of weeks ago because my plant tips were turning yellow, as well. It's great fun, collecting rain! Thank you for the great video! Also, iI love your style and tattoos! Cheers from The Hague!
Hey! Yes I do collect rainwater, I keep meaning to buy myself a rainwater butt to collect it. I definitely think my houseplants enjoy it. Thanks for the lovely comments 💚
I think it should be fine, mine likes a fair bit of water but if you’re worried, you could mix in some perlite or something else for a bit of extra drainage.
@@SarahBird My neighbour did some cuttings and gave me a newly repot Peace Lilly today. It looks droopy at the moment. Will wait in a couple of days till it gets settled to a new home, will see if needs a proper soil. Thanks for the help.
@@SarahBird I'm working on one that has been neglected by my physical therapists office. I nagged them about the plant. Next visit I pulled all the dead leaves out and looked down in the pot....yep, that sucker is sooooo root bound. I so much appreciate my physical therapist, I snatched the plant yesterday, and said I'm fixing this poor thing. OMG, holey rootbound!!! Plus, I'll get a few of the pups for myself. Win all around!!!!
Hi, please help me. I have a peace lily from from brother’s funeral in December 2018. It was doing fine but about a month ago some of the leaves started turning yellow and the leaves that are Green has brown tips. I am desperately trying to keep this plant alive.........I NEED to keep it alive. I water once a week with bottled water. What do I do?! 😢
Hey Andrea, I don’t tend to water mine on a schedule. I think Peace Lilies are really good at saying what they need! They go super droopy when they’re thirsty. I’d try doing that for awhile to see what happens. Also, I’d try rainwater if you can. Sometimes bottled water is really just tap water in a bottle. Or if you can’t get rainwater, then maybe try finding distilled or deionised water. But if you use these then you’ll need to fertilise(but not too much because they don’t like that either) 🙄.
There’s a great group on Facebook called “house plant hobbyist”. I’d join that and ask for advice with a pic. Or send me an email with one on or IG message. @sarahbirdmusic sarah@sarahbird.org.uk But also, is it a lot of leaves turning yellow? Because leaves do die, it’s a circle.
Only water it when it's drooping and the soil is almost dry. Maybe it needs to be reported. If it's in too small or a container the roots will basically suffocate the plant. (that's what my grandma told me). If anything maybe you can take it to a garden center and ask for help. We just recieved my husband's peace lily from his grandmother's funeral and I'm terrified to care for it. Mines always done well but the importance of that plant makes me feel like I'm walking on egg shells just trimming the leaves. I always cut the dead leaves or leaves that are yellowing so the plant can focus on growing and mine is doing great.
I have another peace lily that lives in water 100% of the time. I would probably try and put one side in water, although one could argue that the plant is already in shock and this might shock it more, but my thought is that the water might encourage root growth.
@@SarahBird i did a week ago and still dropping like crazy..leaves are green..soil is moist..its always in indirect sunlight..may be i will wait for 1 more weeek...thankx
You made this look so easy! Thanks for the video, I’m giving mine ago for the first time ever later on.

Yep, let the chlorine evaporate off overnight. I do this for all my plants with old orange juice bottles!
Thanks for sharing! I have 3 overgrown peace Lillys that I need to break up and repot. Thanks for the video!

This video is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!
What soil should i buy?
Those pots are adorbs! Loving the colors

Ah thanks Lucy 💚 I hope your reporting went well and you’re keeping safe!
Really helpful Miss Bird. I am now about to divide my peace lily and see how many sections there are hiding in the pot.
Perfect, thanks! did this today in the sun.
I hope you can move somewhere quiet, surrounded by plants sometime
We’re in a much quieter place now. Still working on being surrounded by plants! 😅

What is the best soil for reporting my peace lily?
I'm literally repotting a my smaller peace lily in such a similar pot! I saw some pups and thought I'd separate them.
Thank you for your video. I’ve 2 elderly peace lilys. Hope I can give them a new lease of life!
Great video ! Thank you 🌻
Once my lilly has flowered, I have 3 I think to separate it into... thank you for this.
How are your plants doing now?
Super helpful! Thanks for this

OriGinAl music for a tut?!? That is a first! Brava!!! 😘
Watching from India.
Thank you ma'am.
You are so patient and gentle.🤗🤗
Ah thank you 🙏🏼
Cool music.
Thank you for a clear demonstration on dividing and re-potting, just what I needed.

If the plant is drooping is it best to water first before repotting?

Thank you, that was really helpful. I have a huge peace lily which I'm now off to divide :-)
Ah I’m so glad it helped! Let me know how your dividing went Leah 💚
@@SarahBird All good thanks. I now have four plants instead on one and everyone looks happy and healthy so far :-)
Thank you for your video.
Love the video, you are very relaxing and chilled how you explain everything, did you ever think of taking up ASMR, think you'd be great at it?
Thank you for your help. I'm re-potting a Peace Lily for a friend. It's a great film, easy to understand and very peaceful too. :)
Oh I’m so happy it was helpful Amanda 💚 thank you for watching and commenting!

Miss Bird it’s usually about two or three yellow ones at a time.

Thanks! My mom is giving my her peace lily. It’s really big and I think I can get several baby plants out of it when I repot it.
Mine are doing really well! Growing their own little babies. Good luck with yours ☺️ thanks for watching!
What kind of soil you used in repotting peace lily.
Hi Ederlina, I don’t use anything special, just regular compost and I add some perlite.
Miss Bird Thanks 🙏
I made the mistake of ripping it apart right through the middle. Now both sides seem to be dying. What would I do now?
I have another peace lily that lives in water 100% of the time. I would probably try and put one side in water, although one could argue that the plant is already in shock and this might shock it more, but my thought is that the water might encourage root growth.
I did the same but my both plants are dropping and doesn't look alive...don't know what went wrong
Ah sorry to hear that Dipika, mine are growing like crazy still. How long ago did you repot and is the soil moist?
