- Writer and producer Clive Barker talks about the craft of writing. This excerpt was taken from the television program Conversation filmed in 1990. The interviewer was Cary MacDonald. The show was directed and produced by John Richardson.
Clive Barker is nothing short of awesome.
He’s completely LOCKED IN. Fulfilled his destiny as a person.
The problem with movies is the fact that once it has been portrayed in a particular fashion that it plays the movie that many readers have in mind when reading the stories I read the hellraiser story and I pictured a completely different set of scenarios until I saw the movies
Clive Barker is beatiful 😍❤
As an aspiring novelist, Clive is a huge inspiration to me.
How is the writing going? I wrote a book myself so I like to hear other's stories.
What a legend hey!
@@Klopp619 how's your writing going mang?
‘As an aspiring novelist, Clive…’
If you can’t see what went wrong with that sentence, quit writing.
@@jonharrison9222 I disagree, the meaning is quite clear from the context.
It's so weird hearing him without his smoker voice
If I'm not mistaken he must be around 37 in this interview but looks like he's in his 20s. This is how to age!
You'd be sad to see him now. He's better than he was, but he looks way different.
Nostaglia Attack the guy has had it rough the last few years, to say the least. I hope he’s okay, and still interested in writing his novels
This is the gold, the jewel, the way he makes his magic.
The genius behind such magnificent work of fiction "The hell bound heart" "Weaveworld" "Coldheart Canyon".
No shit, Sherlock!
@@sidnew2739 He wrote Sherlock Holmes, too?!
My favorite artist, writer, revolutionary, and almalgamist, more creators of all fields should look at his work and take it to heart, he has no bounds in his mind.
One of the greatest authors for sure
Thanks for posting this.
I wish Clive Barker was my dad lol. He is so cool. But remember.. we had our dads for a reason. Love them
Huge inspiration, what a guy.
Terrific writer.
Interesting interview - I totally love Weaveworld; a unique, one-of-a-kind masterpiece
Very, very few of us on this earth can attain the level of awesomeness necessary to be able to carry off wearing double denim, but he manages it.
He has such a perfect symmetrical face.
Movies can be art too, but I get what he's saying. Reading a novel requires more from the reader than a movie requires from the viewer.
I really like like this guy!!! Mr.Barker I would really like to meet and talk to you one day!!!
Weirdly Weaveworld's ending did feel like something Bugs Bunny would do
He looks like a mix of Ryan from the office and jerry Seinfeld
What is the deal with pain & pleasure being indivisible as one?
Everyone had the same feeling on nightbreed. Bored.
Speak only for yourself, please!
'Blake and Melville'. This blokes delusional.
Dreadful. His books are terrible and his films are even worse.
