I found your channel a few days ago and just wanted to let you know that you've inspired me. I'm going through a disastrous transitionary period and relocating to Washington to try and get myself together again, but your videos and the places you've let us share with you have helped me cope and started to give me an idea of where I can go from here. I don't think I could do (or would enjoy in the long term) the nomad lifestyle you have, but I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed exploring the outdoors in the last decades. Thank you. What you do is important, even if it feels sometimes like you're just another trailblazer.
As a life long born and raised Washington resident, I always knew it was better than all it's neighbors. Though I live in the south west of WA right on the Oregon border, I have been just about everywhere in WA and I love it all, from the coast to the rain forest to the mountains to the high deserts, beautiful.
I like the everyday normal stuff. Shopping, finding a place to stay. I go by myself every spring on a west trip, I have chf so I go by myself. I'm not fun to travel with, I eat low sodium, need quit a bit of rest and don't do heat well. So I'm more comfortable on my own but still enjoy the road. Going shopping, finding a cracker barrel or rest area to sleep in. Exploring the desert and following the ocean on the way back can still be fun. Love the videos
That's good to hear because that's easier to really show as authentic to my life ❤️ I'm also not fun to travel with because I force my friends and family to get up at 4am and do sunrise hikes, and that's why I travel alone!

Yay! I'm always happy to show people places they haven't seen before!! And there will be more hot springs but probably not for a few months, summer isn't the time for hot water lol summer is for cliff jumping and swimming in lakes!

I had no idea what the Olympic peninsula was until this last year . My truck broke down in port Angeles, I ended up camping there for a week , while I put the 8k together to replace my engine . Met great people, and fell in love with the area . Absolutely beautiful.

days without an ample amount of food... I can relate. bread and cheese is pretty good. I had a stretch of doing vegan tuna sandwich... which is canned chickpeas+ mayo packets+any fine cut veggies between any bread.
I miss living in Sequim honestly.. November through June it's raining just about every damn day but man if that area isn't lush and beautiful when the sun does come out for a bit in the summer. Great place to visit if you've never been

We would be honored to show off a few hidden gems of our state. Just don't tell any Californians (we have enough of them as it is hahaha) but seriously, great hikes to views and wildlife that will make you understand our pride. Plus, we can do some fun stuff. Ok. I will re-assess the Oregon vs Washington debate soon. Promise. Cuz, I did the whole Oregon coast, and I loved it, but I only did the Washington coast along that small stretch of 101, which I found flat and uninteresting. But I had to drive through Forks (team Edward). Anyway, the Cape Flattery area looks like a winner for Washington! (Jotting THAT one down, too, thanks!). And yes. Go solo! No partners, no pets, no plans. I only make plans when visiting friends/family or going to concerts and festivals, cuz freakin' bands won't change their schedule for me, dammit. haha! Then it's usually the weather or GREAT recommendations (hint hint) that push and pull me places. I enjoy and benefit from exactly what you're doing, Rosa. Thanks! Oh, geez, this is long, but one more thing... "Caffeine naps" are the best! Just sayin' :)
Fair enough, honestly the oregon coast might be slightly prettier for a longer stretch of beach, but the inaccessibility of car camping and the overcrowding just ruins it for me! And I like pumping my own gas 😂 I also only make plans for family and friends, I can't travel long term with another person. It's just not as fun!!

Yooo that's awesome! I'm so excited for you! I recommend avoiding Seattle and Portland 😂 but I do think Portland is worse. And Seattle is actually pretty, it has some scenic spots. Portland scares me.. but just be safe and I hope you have a catalytic converter shield on your element because they get stolen quite a lot. I had mine stolen in Seattle!
@@lifeinmyelement so I bought the aerogenics cat shield but whoever put the $99 amazon cat on after the original was stolen did a pretty bad job and it wouldn’t fit right. I’ll probably avoid Portland to be safe. So far I’m going to New River Gorge, Badlands, Glacier, Yellowstone and then North Cascades (trying to find a spot at colonial creek but may have to settle for a different campground). Are you going to be at the PNW Element meetup?

To make your videos even better, you should share how to get to these great spots you seem to always find. Share your thought process while searching for these back roads. You say you just try dirt roads and sometimes get lucky but are people allowed on these unpaved roads? I'm not familiar with the Pacific NW. 😇

Whoa, really pretty area you were in. I guess (more of) the WA coast will have to go on my list of places to visit. I really love the atmospherics of the PNW coastline. I have mostly good memories of the OR coast, but stuff tends to change after 25-30 yrs. I think what you've been doing/filming on your channel, and just being YOU, is great. Though, i have to admit Cooking with Rosa may be a favorite. I imagine creating content is much harder that many believe it to be. Just keep swimming. 😊 15 miles is pretty bold! Nap is a given, right?
I think Oregon has really become so developed, especially in the past decade. It just doesn't feel wild like Wahsington does. But it's still beautiful just not for me ❤️ I'm glad you like my cooking, sorry about the boring bread and cheese in this video!
@@lifeinmyelement Yeah, over development ruins everything. Overuse, same. I guess as our species fades things will get better, for the planet and all other life. Too deep? Bread & cheese are, like many delicious things, require moderation. But sometimes you've just gotta' grab a handful (or 2) of whatever's closest and will fill the void. Over most of my lifetime I'd say I've averaged 3-4 servings of everything, bread & cheese included - sometimes with Guinness. And ketchup is a vegetable. 😆

Fair enough, honestly the oregon coast might be slightly prettier for a longer stretch of beach, but the inaccessibility of car camping and the overcrowding just ruins it for me! And I like pumping my own gas 😂 I also only make plans for family and friends, I can't travel long term with another person. It's just not as fun!!

Yooo that's awesome! I'm so excited for you! I recommend avoiding Seattle and Portland 😂 but I do think Portland is worse. And Seattle is actually pretty, it has some scenic spots. Portland scares me.. but just be safe and I hope you have a catalytic converter shield on your element because they get stolen quite a lot. I had mine stolen in Seattle!
@@lifeinmyelement so I bought the aerogenics cat shield but whoever put the $99 amazon cat on after the original was stolen did a pretty bad job and it wouldn’t fit right. I’ll probably avoid Portland to be safe. So far I’m going to New River Gorge, Badlands, Glacier, Yellowstone and then North Cascades (trying to find a spot at colonial creek but may have to settle for a different campground). Are you going to be at the PNW Element meetup?

Whoa, really pretty area you were in. I guess (more of) the WA coast will have to go on my list of places to visit. I really love the atmospherics of the PNW coastline. I have mostly good memories of the OR coast, but stuff tends to change after 25-30 yrs.
I think what you've been doing/filming on your channel, and just being YOU, is great. Though, i have to admit Cooking with Rosa may be a favorite. I imagine creating content is much harder that many believe it to be. Just keep swimming. 😊

I think Oregon has really become so developed, especially in the past decade. It just doesn't feel wild like Wahsington does. But it's still beautiful just not for me ❤️ I'm glad you like my cooking, sorry about the boring bread and cheese in this video!

Bread & cheese are, like many delicious things, require moderation. But sometimes you've just gotta' grab a handful (or 2) of whatever's closest and will fill the void. Over most of my lifetime I'd say I've averaged 3-4 servings of everything, bread & cheese included - sometimes with Guinness. And ketchup is a vegetable. 😆
