The views in this video are amazing but I REALLY appreciate Pop's comment at 2:46. I'm disabled, and I can tell a bit from your videos already regarding trail accessibility! But it meant a lot to have that call-out specifically, thank you.
Good stuff. All of your well documented travels (with your dad no less) inspire me to reevaluate how I choose to spend the limited amount of time I have left on this earth. Well done my friend, very well done.
We just got back from Olympic after 3 full days and it’s now in my top 5 National Parks. We head to Mt. Rainer in two days for two days. Really enjoy your videos…keep them coming.
Olympic national park is my favorite national park in Washington. So much to see from Rainforests, mountains, and the amazing coastline. Hurricane Ridge is such an incredible place to visit if you ever get the chance. Was there in a clear day last year and we saw up toward Victoria in Canada and up Vancouver island. We clearly saw Mount Baker, and then farther north into the Canadian Cascades around Vancouver.
One my favorite videos of yours and all of them are wonderful. Love it when your dad is with you. 👍 Thumbs up for the dad joke about the gorgeous gorge 😂 Thanks for sharing your adventures with us
This is one of the top national parks I want to visit! It looks so beautiful and unique! I’m not a Twilight fan but I would probably stop in Forks just for the experience. 😝 I’m also Team Gollum!! 🤣
My son and I came back yesterday from our two weeks Roadtrip. We visited the Olympic Parc and it was special to be at places I saw here before. The rainforest, Lake Quinault, the Sprüche tree, tree of Life, Ruby Beach at a clear day😊. Sol duc waterfall, Lake Crescent and a day later Hurricane Ridge. We are from Germany and it was an impressive trip
Olympic National Park has been on my list for a while. So happy to have another video of yours to reference when planning my trip! Josh and Pops forever!
Ruby & Rialto beaches....my favorite two. When I lived in OR I tried to go to them each year. + Cape Flattery - I took a picture there on a cloudy day - it came out so perfectly that I hung it over my fireplace in Tigard, OR for a number of years. My son has it now....hanging in his bedroom. I'm just glad it is hanging some where. I'm still in the midst of watching your video. If one is going to WA to tour the coast, don't miss those 3 locations!
It’s giving twilight vibes and I’m here for it! Hope to visit at some point in my life, thanks for all your travel videos, they are inspiring and I love watching them!
Thank you friend. I was there in March of 2023 but did not have the time to check out the extended tours as portrayed in your video. I plan to be back next year. Please keep up the awesome V-logs. Personally I think it’s so awesome that you included your dad in your V-logs.
Aloha from Honolulu, my boyfriend and I are heading off to WA State in mid September, 2023, and hiking all three National Parks in the state: Mt. Rainer, Olympic, and North Cascades. I'll search for you other videos for these Parks as well. Thank you for another awesome video that you and your Pops do on hiking National Parks!
I was there 3 weeks ago, had 48hrs to explore. Since I knew the HOH rainforest was extremely popular, I headed there first thing, was at the park around eight thirty, and didn't have to wait in line but parking was already pretty much full. I did the hall of mosses and 4 miles of the hoh River trail which has off shoots to the actual river where we spend some time getting our feet cold in the water 😂. Had a picnic and really took our time to enjoy it all. And then after that on our drive back we did Forks (mandatory for Twilight fans), and second beach...I can't recommend second beach enough!! It's was breathtaking! The second day also left our rental super early and headed to Hurricane ridge, we got there at 8am and we had to wait for 30 minutes to get it, but so worth it! The drive up and the views and hikes up there are so beautiful, then we did crescent lake where we had our picnic lunch, then hiked to Merymere falls, then drove to Sul Doc Falls and did that trail, then Madison Falls to end our stay at Olympic National Park... you are correct that the park is massive and the drives from place to place are long, but 100% worth it. You just have to be willing to wake up early and to drive a lot 😁. I loved it so so so much, such a beautiful and unique park, it was enchanting
one of the best diverse national park ever. Such a great park, hurricane ridge is epic too. Huge, and the two national park lodge by the two lakes are worth the stay. HOH rainforest is unreal I have to say, to see it so far NORTH and that tree of life is such an amazing thing.
That “pictures and videos will never do it justice” is so true. I live in Washington State and have the Olympic rain forest ‘in my back yard’. But, there is no way to explain it much like the Grand Canyon. No photo can explain its vastness. No camera can capture the incredible shades of green and textures on WA State’s temperate rain forest. Here’s a small clue… when the moss dampers .. muffles… sound, there’s a LOT of it.
We loved our week in Olympic. There is SO much to do and it's so beautiful. We were happy to see that you stopped at Sully's! Their milkshakes made us repeat customers.
I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your channel. I usually watch you casting to my TV so it is not easy to comment. It is awesome to have the father and son videos to always have forever.
I loved the video. The rainforest and waterfalls were so amazing.the voice narrative and the duo’s chemistry makes it so relatable. I am impressed by the range of locations -they don’t just cover one geographic area of the US which is unique… look forward to more. 🏔 🍁 🌊
I just wanted to say thanks for making this video! We just got back from Washington and used your same itinerary spread out over two days and it was perfect! We even took our son, Sully to his namesake burger stop! Thanks for the great video!
Beautiful video and Pop's joke was great 😂. Have you ever explored Lake Cushman and Staircase? Lake Cushman is near the Staircase entrance to the Olympic National Park. It's one of my favorite lakes in Washington. It's cold, but so clear and beautiful! It's a popular area in the spring and summer.
A great lesson from my first visit too: lots of driving so plan to spend a night or two in Port Angeles or the other end. Otherworldly is the perfect descriptor. Great job and to pop too for the dad jokes!
Beautiful, Josh and Pops!! I haven't made it out West yet from Michigan, but I've been tearing through the East over the past three years. Olympic is at the top of my list though, along with Mount Ranier 😁 Thanks for everything you guys do to show us the US!
Another great video! I’ve been able to visit the park a few tunes, but you highlighted places I’ve never seen yet! Makes me want to get out and explore. That tree of life was cool.
Great video as always, and cool to highlight some lesser-known spots in ONP. We stayed at Lake Quinault Lodge last year when road-tripping through the PNW (over from the UK) and loved the Quinault area and Kalaloch beach/tree of life. ONP is so much more than Hoh, Hurricane Ridge and Sol Duc and I think you've captured that really well here.
@@ThroughMyLens probably the tide pools at Hole in the Wall, short hike from Rialto Beach. Having just done Fern Canyon and the Redwoods we were a little underwhelmed by the Hall of Mosses. Also like the short hike to Devil’s Punchbowl on Lake Crescent.
I went there several years ago in September and there was not many people there when I was there and it was a bit cloudy. You had beautiful weather and I don't remember seeing the places you went to except I did go to the Hoh Rain Forest! I also went up into the mountains and then over to the coastline. The rocks and driftwood are very impressive!
Man I can't wait to return to the Great NW. WE absolutely love Olympic--all of it. Each part could be its own park! Thanks for taking us along on your trip. You brought back memories and inspired "The Plan" we have in rough draft form.
I went to Olympic a few years ago before the pandemic. Didn’t have the best time cause it was raining very hard on our one day visit to the Hurricane Ridge and the Hoh Rainforest making it hard to hike and see the landscape around us. I’m glad you had a great experience and better than mine and I hope to explore more in the future. Keep up the great work Josh and I can’t wait for more “GORGEous” videos! 😂
Hey Josh planning a trip for this August doing the Olympic peninsula loop, wondering what month you where there, curios about the weather. Thanks for all the videos!
We had planned to visit here on our trip through the PNW a couple weeks ago but ran out of time. We are planning a follow up trip and are using this video as a guide for what to do with a limited amount of time. My wife is definitely stopping in Forks. Thanks for another great video!
@@ThroughMyLens yeah it was an ambitious plan but realized it wasn’t possible as we got into the actual trip. I did want you to know a lot of our stops on this trip were from your videos and website. Thank you!
Thoroughly enjoyed this tour with you. I am glad that the Twilight shops are open again because the last time I was there in 2015 it seemed the Twilight hype had died down (except for the convenience gas station), or I was just there at the wrong time of the season/day in July.
I just went to the Olympic NP this summer!!!! It's so beautiful, and so fun! Ruby Beach was one of my favorite parts! It's fantastic during sunset. When did you go? How was the weather? Also, Pacific Pizza in Forks is really good! But all the places to eat or shop in Forks close early (8 or 9pm or earlier), so make sure you have snacks or food in the car. There is very little civilization throughout most of the park, so be prepared, plan gas stops, give yourself plenty of time. Traveling does take forever through the park! Also, also, Rialto Beach is amazing, and Cape Flattery is awesome! The Makah Reservation (pronounced like macaw the bird), has a great cultural center, and good places to eat! Hope you can come back and do more there's so much to see!!! It's epic!
So awesome, Ruby Beach is amazing and the weather was perfect for us. I wish I would have known about the pizza spot, sounds awesome! Really wanted to go to Cape Flattery but ran out of time on this trip.
I'm rather thinking I missed out not coming here, BUT, I suppose you do have to factor in the weather, as you do get those temperature inversions on the coast - But I went from Seattle up to Banff & beyond - Jasper, down the Fraser & over to Vancouver Island, down tru' Bellingham to Seattle Yes, going up to Olympic for a few days would have been cool. Thanks for showing us some great trees.
The views in this video are amazing but I REALLY appreciate Pop's comment at 2:46. I'm disabled, and I can tell a bit from your videos already regarding trail accessibility! But it meant a lot to have that call-out specifically, thank you.
I miss the PNW so much. It really is other worldly, like a fairy is going to wiz past your head as you pass under the moss and foliage. Just magical.
Super thoughtful of you to mention the ADA accessibility.
I'm going to this park next month. Thanks for the helpful and scenic video!
My sister has lived up there for about 20+ years. I've been able to visit a few times. Such a beautiful area, with so much to do!
That is awesome, I would love to spend more time there!
