- At my wedding reception my dad surprises my new husband and I by signing a beautiful song. I am a sign language interpreter so this meant the world to me. He said it took him the entire year I was engaged to learn how to sign this song.

I could be wrong, but I believe he is saying, that a father that would do this kind of gesture to show his love for his daughter at the wedding has probably done things like this her whole life. He has always shown her he loved her- not just with money or traditional ways. He is warning people that sometimes there are more ways to express love for one another, and if I am correct- what he means is that simply providing financially and "looking after" her won't be enough. She's been taught to have a deeper relationship with loved ones.

My daughter is only 3 and this gets me teary eyed just thinking of this day for her even though its a very very long time away. This was awesome! He was awesome. I never heard this song before this and its definitely a tear jerker for parents.

I love this song. I was married many many years ago long before this song was ever made. I wish this song was around then and it would have been my Father Daughter song at my wedding way back when. I always cry everytime I hear it. Beautiful song!!!
