I have a question: often times, regardless of how many injections of anesthesia I get, it's still hurting me when drilling my tooth's decay gets into the "final stage" (e.g. path to the canals are being opened) and when a tiny needles are used to clean the root canal - also hurts me. Can using the microscope prevent this pain? my logic is that pain occurs, because dentist is not really precise and sometimes touches/irritates the nerve tissue.. and maybe with the microscope everything can be done in a very precise way..? so can this be a remedy for such pains? or I'm getting the wrong idea about using the microscope when dealing with root canals? Microscope can not prevent the pain but it can help the doctor to do the treatment precisely. There are many conditions that anaesthesia don't work properly. If a tooth has a periapical lesion or a cyst or granuloma or pus , anasthesia will not work that time. For that doctor gave medicines like antibiotic prophylaxis.
