Ranong (ระนอง) - Welcome to Ranong, a very pleasant city in Southern Thailand. A couple interesting things about Ranong, which is both a city and province in Thailand, is that it’s the least populated province in Thailand, and it’s located on the Kra Isthmus, the narrowest part of the Malay peninsula. It’s also a cool place to visit with some fantastic people and delicious Thai street food.
We started at the market for breakfast, walking around the friendly market and eating some street food snacks including a freshly made egg roti (โรตีไข่), sticky rice shrimp (ข้าวเหนียวหน้ากุ้), and grilled sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียวปิ้ง). Market was great.
Traditional Ice Cream (ร้านไอติม ประเสริฐสงค์) - This is one of the most classic Thai ice cream shops that specializes in hardened raw egg ice cream (ไอติมไข่แข็ง) - 40 THB
Take Off Your Shoes Restaurant (ร้านถอดรองเท้า) - Next up on this Ranong Thai food tour we went to a legendary restaurant literally called “Take Off Your Shoes.” Funny enough, you don’t need to take off your shoes to eat here… but it must have a history!

Som Chok Restaurant (ร้านสมโชค) - Finally, to end this meal, we drove a little outside of town to a countryside Thai restaurant known for curries and especially for stink beans. We had a little stink bean overdose, and it was wondrous!

I cant believe how much Mica has grown! The other day I was in Athens in one of those shops you ate the cheese pies etc and everyone wanted to embrace Mica and told them that i know who they are from a youtube video. The lady and her daughter went crazy on how adorable and cute Mica is. Apart from the food and travel your videos are also a timeline of Mica growing up.

Basicly im Malaysian, and stay in East coast peninsular Malaysia...the food in Ranong has some similarities with malay food over here... Sekaya, roti canai, pulut inti, petai goreng belacan, asam pedas keladi, singgang ayam, gulai daging...thats the dish we call in malay...i cant remember it call in thailand language, but the food is the same...maybe not the pork...but we use beef, chicken, duck and mutton...
My point is, even ranong in thailand for so many years...but we know, before thailand and malaysia exist...southern thai and malay peninsular are one kingdom...and the food is a proof that the people of southern thai and peninsular malaysia are closed...im so happy to visit Tanah Sari (old name for Ranong) one day...

Not when you have a government that follows science, institutes good quarantine and contact tracing and testing. It's not magic.
Here in New York in the midst of a massive spike in other states that failed to take the virus seriously, we are also mostly going back to normal (with ppp and care for others).
