- I did not expect this! The M41A3 in War Thunder is a Premium Chinese Light Tank that's only 5.0!
The Bulldog Tank in War Thunder is one of my favourites. It's a very maneuverable vehicle with just enough firepower, a great reload and an APDS. However, the M41A3 sacrifices the APDS for a much lower BR at 5.0!
This to me is one of the coolest vehicle to be added. It's just a shame that it's a premium, seems like it would be a good tech tree addition instead! :)
But, hey! At least it's not a silly amount of monies!

Fun fact, China also has the highest BR Walker Bulldog. At 8.0 with a UAV, laser range finder, APFSDS, and Night Vision (not entirely unique but still, it's Night Vision)

The Bulldog being the most “An Light Tank” light tank in the game definitely helps: No frills, no special doodads that require a new keybind or a new playstyle, you just play it like a big Chaffee or smth and have fun! :D
Let's be honest: people don't play chaffee as much only because it became rank II and thus can't be used for most events.
And Japanese Chaffee simply got no good lineup. Although, if you are ready to get yourself some universal backups, you can roll in it for days, limited only by bad SL gain.
imo the t92 is better than the bulldog

The M41 is such a good panic tank. I panic my way out of the most manic situations with it that I could just never pull off with any other vehicle. Absolutely nuts
i find the t92 is also pretty good at doing that it just lacks the neutral steering and reverse gear.
The Bulldog was such a breath off fresh air to unlock while trying to spade GOD AWFUL 5.7-6.7 Japan.
It's because it has MBT levels of mobility and turret rotation.

Very strange the Taiwanese M41 of all things doesn’t get sabot, when I think the sabot was primarily manufactured for Taiwan’s M41s in the ‘80s.
The M41D in the tech tree has APFSDS. It's 8.0 though.
6:27 the commander thing didn't work since the commander is dead. For some reason the thing that shows you how long till the commander takes over doesn't account for whether or not the commander is alive so it can lead to very awkward and uncomfortable situations

So like, I realise the APDS is one of the main reasons for the bulldog's br, but there is no way removing it makes it 0.7br worse than an M18. I'm pretty sure this thing should be at least 5.3 if not 5.7. At 5.0 this thing is just so broken...
At the same time, this is the most amazing American tank for the tier that's not even in the nation, it's not like America gets anything good on the tech tree that's not premium while Germany and Russia just smoke everything America has, the Jumbo is the only heavy tank up to the T26E5 and Super Persh
US vehicles at that BR are comically overtiered. 5.0 is fine for a tank that can pen everything, has decent mobility, no stabilizer and no armor, since it only gets solid shot. The vk can actually bounce things, has a higher pen gun with APHE, decent mobility and sits at 5.0. Why is it OP?
@@hydrixs6996 Not really. America gets it's fair share of op vehicles. How long has it been since you've given the M4A1 a try? That thing is insanely busted. How about the chaffee or the M5 stuart? Or even the bulldog for that matter. Basically every single US light tank is good. The mediums are kinda hit or miss and so are the heavies, but you can't have everything.
Also, i find that the people who complain about other nations being better than their favourite one basically don't play the tanks they complain about.
Sure germany has some op tanks, but a lot of the other ones are clunky and over-rely on mediocre armor and firepower and thus lack mobillity and responsiveness. Plus your teammates are garbage so you almost always have to carry the team, which gets old quick.
And the soviets really aren't op in any way. I'd argue they're the most balanced tree in the game as far as ww2 to early cold war ground rb goes. Almost every soviet tank is usable, but has big flaws you need to overcome to make it shine. Be it incredibly long reloads, no gun depression, lackluster armor, lacking firepower or any combination of those.
@@caralho5237 Eh, not really, they aren't. They're fine.
Now, take for example the challenger (which sits at 5.3) and compare it to the bulldog. It has the same 0 armour, but worse speed. A slightly better gun, but no reverse to speak of and hull traverse is also horrible. Imo the M41 is strictly better.
And the VK you talk about has both horrible reverse as well as no turret traverse to speak of. Plus a longer reload. It's armor is also rather dissapointing, as american 76s and russian 85s will pen it's UFP without issue.
You underestimate just how agile the bulldog is. The abiility to zoom around the map and brawl insanely well due to your traverse speeds are incredibly useful tools that together with basically a "britified 90mm" make a good base for a very versatile light tank.
Imo you could take this thing to 5.7 and barely notice a difference. Just like you can take the US M41 to 6.7 and have it feel like it's in it's own br.

nah solid shot with like 180mm of pen isn't that good, considering any british tank can do the same at a lower BR, and panther D is at 5.3 with a better gun and HE filler, with an immortal hull

M41D accuracy is so bad , why gaijin to do this ?
i can't tell you how many times i have been able to run circles around hoards of russian and german heavies trying to corner me while i pick their crews apart 1 APDS round at a time.

Speaking as a simple German main, I enjoy the apds bulldog. Being able to pen anything, anywhere (nearly) makes a nice laid back experience.
Pretty much the normal German experience lol
Plus we get smokes and a very nice heatfs over this one and I believe all the other ones
that experience is the same as the majority of vehicles in your tree already. As a bonus they also usually are unfairly hard to kill as well.

god, the german m41 apcr grind sucks, especially back before they buffed apcr, but once you get the HEAT it is easily one of the best tanks in the german 6.3 lineup, as well as the best bulldog in general @@arthurman415
you should try out the Vickers Mk.7! It's a Leopard 2 but with a funny British turret and a British gun!

This thing is a monster at 5.0 BR in ground RB.... I love light tanks and this being at 5.0 bought it the second it came out best GE spent so far on this update.
Ill have the entire Chinese tree grinded with this thing.
I've always loved the Bulldog. As soon as I got past the stock grind and could get the full speed and traction, driving it is great.
Thank you for the video about this vehicle, I ask every UA-camr to make a video about it. I bought it immediately after adding it to the game, it's so good that if used properly it can be used on 6.0.

I actually love the aesthetics of the Bulldog and the Chaffee, they're among my favorites in the game.

That solid shot slaps hard
This thing is a light version of the Panther. The gun is a bit less potent when it comes to 0° and 30° pen, but with the 5x zoom and almost identical v0 it only falls behind in armor. Very nice to grind down the chinese tech tree.
commander taking over gunner was not able to work because both gunner and commander was dead. In all my games where this happens, you still see the commander overide circle over gunner replacement even if commander is dead. And at the time when you were asking about it, the loader and driver was only alive, causing bro to just keep loading the gun.

This would team up greatly with the object 211 and compensates for its weaknesses, China 5.0 also have a few decent CAS, and only lacks a good heavy/medium at this BR arguably
putting it here so even if you may already know, someone else who may see this can at least find out, that commander gunner thing you mention at 6:53 that confused you, the faster outer ring when the avenger hits you is the commander override time IF your commander was alive, but the avenger killed both the gunner and commander, meaning the loader had to replace the gunner, the small inner circle timer

Honestly the German Bulldog is my favorite. Actual smoke launchers, HEAT-FS (not that I use it much), and the ability to get you into an Arado or the Narwhal is so damn nice.

All this M41A3 and the M41A1 are their power traverse back, they were literally designed to have a easier to use and thus faster stystem than the M41 (like the Germans one)

I think the commander taking over thing is as follows (complete guesswork but it’s my interpretation):
Fast control: Commander can shoot but not aim
Slower control: Gunner is replaced
Odd main-gunning a plane per video

P51 is actually good with custom loadouts for ground rb

Thats a very good tank. Although it does not get the APDS, it is insane that you get to bully people around 4.0. The thing is though, the APDS on the M41A1 is very useless now. Slight angle on the panther UFP, it will bounce. So this only having this in 5.0 without the APDS is actually great.

Yea we don't play 5.0 lineups cuz 99% we gonna end up on 5.3-5.7 anyway, so its not worth the "handicap".
