The SAAB-105G in War Thunder is a Swedish Jet that just so happens to be the best CAS plane at 8.3 in the game. With CCIP and a Ballistic Computer this gives you access to a bombing retical which will show you EXACTLY where your bombs will land.
The SAAB 105G is also one of the easiest planes to fly. Due to being a training plane, this gives it huge control surfaces and a very good thrust to weight ratio. This makes lining up bombing runs extremely easy so doing mid altitude cas runs super effective.
I love this little plane, it's a jack of all trades but a master of none but there's absolutely nothing wrong with that at all! :)

Glad to see this thing getting some attention. Custom loadouts made this plane incredibly fun to play. 8.7 Sweden has been my favorite lineup for quite some time
I see this thing almost every match when playing my 8.7 lineup for a while now. I still dont think it's as effective as the AE-4 or Scimitar in CAS, but it's still a good vehicle

I don't understand how people enjoy this game unless they are foreign or already a veteran. Everytime I play I get one shot one killed alot and my upgraded bullets don't hit with 200% on the mark circle on circle should hit the plane 300% only rarely barely hits.
Game Sucks BAD:

Want to play arcade mode? Well Gay Jin somehow cheats the system of game popularity and you have to wait 1-3 minutes to play.
Want to change a map mode you like? You can only like or dislike modes to better the chance that almost always chooses domination.....airplanes with capture the flag with chinalinglang匈牙利俄罗斯 vultures above the airfields.
(pay premium to ban modes you don't want=the real ability to choose what modes you want with on or off)
Want a thumbnail icon for your profile? Seen one for 40$.
Want a plane? One plane = the cost of MW3 or Elden Ring or Baldurs Gate 3
Only thing Gay jin is good for is cross out but....their greed and grind is on a whole new level....I seen the market on crossout and it never fails to take #1 grind for it spot.
These youtubers make the game look fun but in reality they spent high dollar for what they have....

I would not call this plane "Close" air support, more like "where did that came from?" Air support.
We could get the Renault NC (One of the developments that would eventually lead to the Char D1) in the game, but not only for France. As it could also be in the Swedish tech tree as the Stridsvagn fm/28 and the Japanese tech tree as the Renault Otsu-Gata.
While the diversity would be nice, Gaijin is acting like Uncle Hermon. They're too busy on the sauce.

It’s pretty good for air rb though. Downtiers with AA missiles at 7.7 is satisfying and chaotic

Just yesterday TurnyPlays was streaming and playing the doom wedge, and a bunch of us were discussing how great the SK60 and 105G are for both CAS *and* anti-CAS (either with AIM-9s on the 105G or 30mm cannons on either). I like both so *so* much more than the Vampire in every way.

been playing sweden lately and I really love the 3.7 lineup. using T-34, M4 Sherman and Panzer IV all together giving you one of the most flexible and consistent match performances I have ever experienced at that BR.

Just don't dog fight. Be a rat and put those 30mm to work (they are awesome). The aim9bs are just an additional way of killing bombers or make a faster enemy turn

I'm surprised you've had so much success belly landing this thing, every time I try to belly land it I get killed instantly with no visible damage to the aircraft. It really is some incredible CAS though

I love this jet, it’s amazing in air and ground easily one of my favourite planes in the game (I like it so much I’m trying to make plans to buy one IRL)
I just love how odd is able to fly around no problem so close to the points... meanwhile me in my swift at 8.3 can't even get close because every zsu or gepard and their babushkas are firing at me from spawn about 6 miles away .... i never get a chance to fly freely like Odd 😅

that noise is the sound of someone firing an atgm somewhere down on the battlefield. doesnt matter if you are 100m or 10km away it sounds the same. you can use the audio que to know where look for enemies even.

One match I played in 38. Parallel. I had my Russian 8.7 lineup with T-55am1, Su-11 and Mi-4V. Also had the Czech SPAA with me. The match went quite well by as soon as the enemy team spawned a few SAAB 105's, they just wrecked my team. Rest of the match went killing a few jets with the SPAA and hiding from the enemy so we win by tickets. The last 30 seconds of the match were intensive...

Odd, since you’re probably the best CAS UA-camr I watch, would you be excited if Gaijin added the AC-47 Spooky gunship? It wouldn’t be a very high BR because it’s only got 30 cal miniguns, but it would still be awesome to see it raining fire on people.

Now that the strela has been moved up, me and a friend have been absolutely been abusing the hell out of this plane in sweeden's op 8.7 lineup with minimum 5 bomb kills each every match
My personal experience fighting this plane even in Mig 15bis (ground RB) was almost toe to toe. It is no joke for most of other planes to meet this.
Just a side note, I play WT for more than 9 years, not really a noob actually.
There is the UDES atgm carrier at 8.3, but it’s there by itself and is a situational vehicle

I've stopped using the gun pods on this in and instead carry 4x bombs + 2x Rb 24s.
Sure the missiles also suck but I've had some success against unaware targets. 4x 1000 lb bombs is enough for ground pounding imo when you have CCIP and individual drops.
You should use the reverse thrust on the SAAB 105 or the SK60B. It makes you slow down MUCH quicker. :)

I use this with 4x 1000s and 2x 9Bs, maximizes ground lethality while still having some AA capability.

ODD: This is why Gaijin needs to have the option of no planes in tank battles. There is no skill in getting kills like this. it is not fair for tanks at all. there arent any anti air tanks in the plane mode of the game. Also why when you get a plane kill from a tank the plane can still shoot. and kill the tank. but if the tank gets killed from a plane the tank cant shoot any more. this air bias needs to change.
The Str 103 is my favourite tank. I got the Vidar, but I am doing much better with the 103. I setup camp and just shoot, in contrast to Vidar I am stealthy and I'm way more survivable. Reload is also very fast.
I think I like pulling my toenails out more than I like being on the ground when a SAAB-105G, even in the A-4E I hate seeing an enemy 105G
