😂 at the screaming kids line, as much as I love kids & have two (grown up now) It’s not a sound we enjoy listening to when out for food 🤭 Looked a lovely day to explore the Torquay delights. Em 🎄
Been to Torquay twice as well as quiet Paignton one day i will go back as its over 8 years since i last visited Thanks for sharing a brief overview of Torquay with us all,its greatly appreciated by me so thank you Best regards Tony
Used to visit as a child due to my dad being from Brixham and had many holidays close by in Paignton and goodrington but last time I visited which was last year omg what a change, most shop door ways had someone sleeping there and constantly being asked for change, like a lot of places has really changed but still some beautiful places to see
We didn’t hang around in the high street much as it was very busy. It’s very sad to see this and would be pretty easy to do something about it. Councils seem more interested in ticking boxes these days rather than improving the quality of life for their community.
We have a largish fridge with a freezer below. We tend to keep them well stocked, shopping much as we do at home- a main shop plus the odd top up as needed ( milk etc). Being a foodie, I can’t resist local specialities. A French Market is my idea of heaven.
I'm from Torquay, it has its good and bad. Scenery is beautiful which I miss now I don't live there. Never liked how packed it got in the summer personally (as a local), not sure I would want to move back there but I would definitely love to go back and visit home at some point.
I used to be very excited about going to Torquay from when I first went in 2017, but I've noticed it had been gaining a reputation and it's not hard to see why. The gorgeous seafront can't disguise how this town has deteriorated into somewhere dangerous and riddled with louts who verbally abuse you. I do not want to go near the town with a bargepole, and it is honestly very sad that it has come to this. 99% of the places I go to, I never experience what I have experienced in this town. Also, why are people in the comments getting defensive over screaming kids and claiming he said it in a "derogatory way"? There was absolutely nothing wrong with calling out what parents should keep under their control (unless its for reasons beyond their control). Some are even saying "we were all screaming kids at one point." Really? I wasn't! I'm sure a lot of us weren't either!

How you getting on 🤔🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬🤣
Spend three days there recently, definitely a town that caters for the quay area and the people it attracts only, beyond that is not worth the walk, and if you do venture that far you won’t want to go further than that. Did you walk on the beach with the sea weed and actually smell it?
I used to live a d qork in the area ,harbour area is fune as are licsl beeches and a nice park but the rest is such a sad witn out place suffering from planning disasters of the town
Since it's part of the South coasts Riviera it's always worth a visit yes. I'm curious to know why you chose the Klesma music for the first part of the stroll though. Is there a Jewish quarter in Torquay ? Oh yes, and of course we'll all be following along tomorrow. A bit of sunshine at the tail end of the year is always welcome. 🤔🙂
I generally choose music because I like the tune or vocals so no deeper meaning. When I am selecting it its all about the emotion I am trying to invoke.🙂
@@LifeistooshortCK Well that music was what is known as a Hora (like Hava Nagila) and you dance to it, so I hope you did a jig along that promenade. 🤔🤣
Beautiful, your evening stroll in Torquay looked lovely. Your final evening meal looked a real treat. I can't abide screaming children, anywhere!!!!! Excited to see your next venue 😄🍾🌴
Please don't take this the wrong way, but you seem to have lost your " spark" a bit in this series. When you are in little red you come across as much more enthusiastic and cheerful. Of course you may not be feeling 100% or maybe I'm struggling with this new format. Anyway, on a positive, your camera work is as brilliant as ever, as is your impeccable choice of music.
No offence taken. To avoid becoming bored it’s important to experiment every now and then. I always learn a lot from doing so. Without the van it’s a different experience. I doubt I will do daily videos again after this series. I always fancied giving it a try but I wouldn’t recommend it. 😁👍
I visited the town after ten years with my grand children it was so disheartening scruffy uncept more disturbing it was full of druggys and they was fighting the date was27 5/24 I will not return it is such a shame
Torquay is desperately trying to keep its head above water. It once was a smart town with beautiful Georgian terraces. It is now a sink estate by the sea. A collection of dhss hostels and closed retail units. At night, drugged and or drunk gangs of feral kids roam the centre and seafront looking for prey. Only the struggling John Lewis store, Hoopers is left trying to maintain the corpse of a once-thriving market for decent quality goods. Is it worth visiting...? No
The video does not show the rest of the town. Abandoned buildings, dirty areas mixed with low income/homeless drug users around the town. Avoid going there or find out the hard way.
@LifeistooshortCK The council in the area have done a very good job for tourism and their areas of focus. I would advise against walking around and beyond the edge of town, particularly up the higher part of town and beyond. Could be a cause of concern to the vulnerable. Remember, seeing large amounts of blood outside the car park during a visit this year, someone witnessed two people stabbing each other over used cigarettes. Blood wasn't cleaned up either, but I'm not surprised knowing the area well.
As a resident of the absolute hell hole that is Torquay, I'd say it's absolutely NOT worth a visit. Unless you want to get mugged by some Spice heads. While the Harbour is lovely, the town is a desolate, filthy shit hole, abused and ravaged by a council that seemed determined to destroy a once beautiful town. Avoid like the plague
A lot of beautiful towns are sinking. Policing has become far too soft. They say society gets the police it deserves. We all need to stand up for what is right. We enjoyed our stay but then again we didn’t go looking for trouble 😁👍
@@LifeistooshortCK trouble usually comes looking for you in Torquay. And yes, sadly true many towns are suffering. However, Torbay Council have done their best, including getting sued, to destroy the town with some truly baffling choices. They recently cut down all the palm tress along the seafront for "improvement" reasons. Glad, if surprised, you had a nice time
@TJHaze123 I read about that. Absolutely crazy. Sounds similar to Brighton. A war on motorists driving visitors away. I hope we can pull it back as both places used to be magnificent.
@@LifeistooshortCK crazy sums up the council's choices far too often. The council has recently been awarded many millions by the Government, everyone I know around here is fully expecting them to squander it
@@TJHaze123stop talking shite! No ones getting attacked by spice heads. Also the palms were cut down as they were pretty much dead! The gardens are now being returned to their original Victorian style. As for the money being granted to the council they’ve already started the redevelopment on the harbour and work on the pavilion will start soon too.
Please don't mention 'screaming kids' in a derogatory way. We've had children and now have a 2 year old granddaughter. Life means that sometimes we hear unhappy children: they are learning to handle life and all the emotions this can bring - that's all 🙂 Please be kind everyone x
I agree I've a daughter whos 10yrs old and as adhd autism sp can't help children been o a wobblers I think its wrong for this mam say screaming kids were there if you don't like children crying then don't go busy places
Sorry but no. Unless it's for reasons beyond the parents' control (i:e disabilities etc.), they should not be bringing kids who scream their heads off via temper tantrums to public sectors like restaurants, cafes, cinemas, theatres and such where people go for escapism. If parents cannot defuse their child's tantrums or take them outside for a bit from these spaces, they should not be taking them to these public spaces.
