  • This is a 2016 Dodge Hellcat Charger with a 4.5 Whipple on 24 PSI, E85, ID 2000 fuel injectors, head porting, camshaft, Fore Innovations Fuel System, and of course a Peitz Performance Tune!

    Jean, the 4.5 is the volume of air the supercharger can displace. Think of an engine. The Hellcat engine is 6.2 liters. That means it can displace 6.2 liters of air during one movement of the piston from top dead center to bottom dead center. The 4.5 liters is the amount of air the blower can displace from one end to the other of the blower in one 360 degree rotation. I hope that helps!

      @@jmicm13 Not. You need to consider how much boost your supercharger is sending... You can underdrive, or you can overdrive the SC. In this case, its pushing 24 PSI or 1,65 bar... THIS IS NOT AN ACCURATE STATE, is just for ''oh i have an idea''.
      So more or less... 1,65 (boost pressure) x 6.2 (by engine) = 10,23L.
      If you push A LOT of boost, like 30 PSI... 12.77L is the air being admited and forced into the engine per rev.

      you don't have all the 8 pistons aspiring in the same loop but half of them if it's a 8 cyl 4 stroke

    I have a '16 Challenger Hellcat on 16-17lbs of boost with Borla Atak, 1050 inj, and K&N CAI on pump gas with 2-4 gal of e85 added for octane boost.
    It seems like the Magnuson 2650 or Demon/Redeye superchargers would reach these power levels more efficiently. Why are they putting such enormous blowers on 1000-1200hp cars?

      Go big or go home. 4.9L Kenne Bell Mammoth going on mine. With a built motor/trans/supporting mods easily 1300-1500whp on race gas.

    Can we hear it idle a little more with those 2000s, any issues with an injector that big?
    Excellent job, I have the same car, minus about 600hp.

    Seems like the Hellcats need more cam or maybe larger valves. The demon has a 224/240 @50 cam. This should probably be 230/24+. I know the ls2 and ls3 of similar displacement do well with a 230/234 cam so why would the hellcat not require at least that much intake duration. Also what exhaust mods were on this car?

    Sure seems weak. Sub 1000whp with 24psi via a HUGE 4.5 Whipple, Ported Heads, and aftermarket cam? The stock blower can nearly achieve the same numbers, and thats without h/c...

      to put it in perspective, 1000 whp on my dyno is the equivalent of 1130 whp on a dynojet with standard correction. Most I've seen on a stock blower on my dyno is about 830 without nitrous.

    I've got a techical question:
    What does that "4.5" mean? Many name chargers that way, I know.
    Is it Liters of air per full turn of the Blower maybe?

      Idk if you still care or not, but the 4.5 refers to the size of the supercharger. 1 liter= 61 cubic inches roughly.

    Not overly impressed with these whipple hellcats. Stock blower, stock head and cam, long tube headers/intake and e85 tune is netting 900rwhp SAE. So big blower/ported heads and cam gets you 85 more rwhp? Something is off.

      This same car on a dynojet would make right at 1200 rwhp. My dyno reads 13% lower. So a 900 whp hellcat on a dynojet makes 770 on my dyno. A stock hellcat on my dyno makes 580 to 590. To give you another perspective a car making 870 on my dyno makes 1000 on a dynojet with standard correction.

      HP gets expensive at these levels. Seeing 300 extra whp isn't a lot of hp to u? It is to the rest of us. Difference between a 9 sec pass and an 8 sec pass.

      It’s a Mustang Dyno. Very advanced eddy current load settings more ideal for realistic road tuning conditions. Also known as the heartbreaker because it reads the lowest.
