    Frisell’s lines can seemingly morph into coherency after a few seconds of a strange play with time

    These guitars are roaring with powerful melodies and harmonies yet they gently emote passionately ministering to my soul. Thank you...

    This is beautiful! I can listen to this all day.
    One of my teachers from Berklee attended this concert and was raving about this. I can only imagine how intense/enthralling this would have been in person.
    Thanks so much for posting this.

    Happy guys, communicating, grooving ... sometimes it's hard to tell who is playing what and sometimes I hear something that looks like neither is playing ... like a 3rd magical invisible guitarist!

    My god, how many guitars does Bill own? In the past decade, I've never seen him play the same guitar twice. (He must have 40 telecasters.) Thing is, he sounds exactly the same no matter what axe he plays -- and I'm not complaining about that. PS. please tell me there'll be at least one album coming out of this sublime collaboration.

      There’s a special about him on Netflix (or maybe Amazon?) - his music room and storage closet looked like there might have been 30+ instruments.

      He seems to be using his Collings a lot now, although he also has a black one that seems otherwise identical to this. I’ve seen him three times in 2 years and it was a Collings each time. Maybe that price range blocks out us copycats finally?!

      i have to disagree. it`s true, that you can immediately recognize him playing, no matter which guitar he`s playing.
      but none of his guitars does sound exactly like another. a telly doesn`t in fact sound like an instrument like he`s playing in this performance for instance:-).
      cheeerz!

      Not of this kind of music, but there are at least 3 Zorn albums featuring Lage and Frisell together.

    I'm shocked they needed to mic their amps through a PA at a venue this small, I guess they have a sound guy adjusting for their dynamics constantly? Killer performance of course! Anyone know what that beige amp is?

    • @ek3773
      @ek3773 Рік тому +1

      I'm assuming the mics are for the recording?

      Bill Frisell works with a woman named Claudia Engelhart who’s a sound engineer, if that’s the right term. I saw Bill in concert in Santa Barbara with Tony Scheer, Kenny Wollesan and Greg Liesz. She is very much part of the band’s presentation and a true master.

      works for me.. esp with Bill. He takes a fragment of Lage's and develops it. There's a lot sonic space to fill with two tinny electric guitars.
