Severide really was a good father figure in this kids life really shows how great of a dad he will be.
I think he would be a good father to anyone. He has a lot of great fatherly attitudes
With the amount of women he has slept with (even before the orgies with the Twitter guy) I wouldn't be surprised if he was already a father to some kids....not a "dad" mind you....just a sperm donor...

Love when they have Severide interacting with Kids, his so good with them, he'd make a great dad. His such a sweetheart and deserves someone who will love him without condition, I think he has that in Stella for the most part I just hope she realises what shes letting go before its too late to go back.
Stella left him and I hate to say it but she was right. He had been blocking her out since well before Tyler and his dad so there is something going on that we don't know. I hope they get back together and he has a great heart but she was the victim not Kelly.
They were great until her friend Tyler started coming around and then when he lost his father that pushed him over the edge.I have been watching this show for years I love Chicago fire I know what's going on and they were fine until all that happened with him and Stella was doing great.I don't know of the guilt of the way he treated his father before he died because he didn't get any closure I don't know if that's what's eating at him.
He didn't get to make it to the hospital in time to see his dad so he didn't get the make things right with his dad and his last words with his dad was not very nice. So that's probably weighing on his mind and he needs to find a way to move past that if he wants a relationship with Stella.
Screw Stella Kelly can do better.

I hope he isn't similar to Benny. didn't Benny abandon every single one of his kids. He left Kelly as a kid, he left Katie as a kid, he walked out on his wife and kids in the early seasons before basically being strong armed into going back by Kelly ( and I'm not far enough into the show to know if he left them again when he comes back to the city but I will assume he does until proven otherwise.)

Severide was the only guy Shay ever really trusted without romantic/sexual complications & she even joked to him that if she was straight,she would’ve jumped him. Shay would’ve made a great mom & he would’ve made a great dad. Killing off Shay was a mistake,Severide losing his best friend & becoming a personal train wreck…until Kidd reappeared in his life.

Severide has more going for him than meets the eye. I guess being Benny Severide's kid has a way of teaching you a measure of forgiveness, if not necessarily tolerance, and that the only thing you really have any control over is how you react to what others do.

It has been 5 years since this episode. They should bring the boy back and have him thank Severide for the excellent advice that he gave him.
Poor kid, I've held onto a teacher like that before when I didn't want to go home. I really didn't want to let go, but I had to.

Kelly is so sweet he always is kind he should have children and a wife he would be the best dad ever and he handled the situation so calmly and so nice to the kid and he would help all the kids that need him he gives people such great advice but the kids dad he just shouted at the kid and it was mot even his fault I feel so bad for the kid.

He's great in scenes with kids. I like the episode where he's jogging and gets trapped in a construction vehicle while trying to rescue a boy.
But I really do agree severide would make a great father he's been really great with his interaction & advice to kids throughout all the seasons of C Fire 🔥 kids really seem to like him & wish he was there father. And I really would like to see him become a father at some point on this series before it comes to an end .

This scene was a beautiful scene.
That's the way we understand money doesn't always make people happy.
This kid gets all the stuffs he wants just by asking money. But he seems so unhappy.
He seems so sad, and his father seems to be a real scumbag !
Severide really helped this kid.
In the first episode of Chicago fire, I hated Severide. But over the episodes, I learnd to know who Severide really is. He's a good man, he always tries to help everyone, except himself.
I'd have liked seeing this kid "saved from his gold prison"
Let's hope he'll make some good choices, and be better than his father.
Or, maybe, let's hope his father started to look at him after seeing his son hugging someone else he barely know.
What is the whole backstory? I haven’t seen the show
The father is nasty to everyone.
He feels like he’s the best and everyone is a nobody.
He spends all his time with his girlfriend, leaving his kid alone.
And so his son hates him, because he receives no love.
The father asked Séveride (The firefighter on the scene) to fix his boat.
Severide accepted, and started to fix the boat.
The boy wanted to help Severide. And he did it.
But one day, the boy said Severide he is unhappy.
Severide tried to speak to him, but the father came in the room, and he fired him.
He said his work was very bad, because he’s just a firefighter, and he also said that if his son needed a psychologist, he would call one, and not ask a firefighter to act as a psy.
The boy was very angry, because he had found a friend, and his father fired him.
He was now alone again.
So, he decided to set fire to the boat, to punish his father.
The father immediately thought Severide had set the fire, but his son confessed him it was his fault.
And so, on the scene, the boy goes to the « 51 » to apologise, and to speak one last time with Severide who was a friend for him.
