    That relatively low power/torque engine is a big part of the reliability. No forced induction or overly complex software that can go wrong. Smooth and unstrained powertrain. And still more than enough power for real world use. A very well made, sensible car. Pricey but worth it.

    If I was in the market for a car in this class this would be my choice hands down. While this car is not perfect (at least they added a touchscreen with the refresh) and doesn't have the "fancier" interior of it's German rivals it has one major advantage, as you have mentioned Mark, reliability. I wouldn't consider any of it's rivals cause they simply are not built to stand the test of time. Do you have another video of the refreshed model coming soon Mark? Always enjoy your reviews, keep up the good work!

    This is my car and I totally agree with your review. It is in my opinion one the best cars I have ever owned…even better than Audi but one of the worst infotainment systems around. I absolutely hate the mouse pad….what an appalling idea….totally unsafe when driving. Plus now that I have paid an extra £160 for Apple Airplay and android Auto I am well pissed off with it because it sometimes works and sometimes just couldn’t be bothered working and it is not wireless….terrible. I love driving the car, it is a delight and you do feel you are driving a luxury car. Plus as you said it is whisper quiet….I love it to bits. But would I buy it again, the plain answer is no if they keep the infotainment system and that horrible mouse pad. I have seen the new NX and they have done away with pad/mouse and gone for touch screen. If that comes to the ES then yes I would consider it against the NX. Great honest review as usual.

    • @NobbyOnCars
      @NobbyOnCars  3 роки тому +1

      Track pad will be gone eventually, I’ve reviewed the new NX and it is touch screen. Facelift ES is also touchscreen but with track.

    • @davidjohn0505
      @davidjohn0505 3 роки тому

      @@NobbyOnCars seriously, they have kept the trackpad??? Oh my goodness that is awful news. For me that is a deal breaker. I think I’ll be going for the NX but it might be the price that will put me off as the one I would like is the plug in Hybrid ( I would need to have very deep pockets) ……Lexus make some gorgeous cars and the reliability is second to none ( I should know as I have had different Volkswagens and Audi’s and there wasn’t one that I didn’t have one mechanical fault or maybe more in them whereas I have had 4 Lexus cars and not one has had a mechanical fault). But I just couldn’t be doing with that track pad. Maybe I should look at something totally different like the…… EV6

    my 2013 300h has 245000 miles on it and it just needs simple maintenence so far. When you get it serviced they will offer you to pick it up and deliver it or drop it off and wait for it or they also have loaner cars available they offered to pick my car up at work and drop off a loaner vehicle such excellent customer service no other car dealer ever offered me that. First class customer care and i bought the thing used. Nissan messed up my loan and when i took the Altima in for an oil change something fell off the shelf and damaged the body on the door so they had to take it to the body shop also the trunk leaked water so i traded it in for the Lexus. Who knows what they did to it when they kept it for 2 day's for body shop work. i thought i heard a noise sounded like transmission when it was minus 8 degrees out Farenheight it don't like the cold either i think that's why the trunk started leaking it got down to minus 20 degrees and it warped the Boot or Trunk as we say here. Lexus? I like it seems like a solid well made car unlike that Altima who knows where in Kentucky it was made my 300h was made in Japan.

      @@Shane-zx4ps Hi Shane, I went for the plug in hybrid RAV4. I drove one and the combination of 306bhp (with a full battery) and the prospect of being able to do 90% of my driving on full electric swayed it for me.
      After that the Lexus was my next choice, it's just a more polished version of the Camry but for the middle spec car it was getting very expensive.
      The RAV4 should arrive sometime in July, I've a 2020 RAV4 at the moment and I just couldn't get over how strong the resale was so hopefully the plug in hybrid is at least as good.

    Why do people continue to talk about acceleration, hp and torque on a car like this? Get the LFA, LS, LC, etc. This car is about being efficient, quiet, silent, refined. It's the complete package while also being better for the planet. You will rarely find yourself at the dealership or mechanics, except for the recommended maintenance. Or if you want to drain your bank account, get the European cars.
