Tip for sewing silk. As long as you are going to wash it give it a heavy spray of spray starch before you cut and sew. Then it is like sewing paper.
Oh! that is a great tip! I am going to try! cos I do have some silk scarfs I want to make something with! 😁 thank you lovely 😁❤️
Thank you for showing the fabric market, can't wait to see wait you make🧵🪡🙂
Thank you lovely! 😁❤️
I just came across your channel - I can't believe it! I've been going to the lapjesmarkt for years. I live not far from Utrecht and going to this market is my treat. I also am short, wear only natural fabrics and buy material for my projects here. I used to make all my own clothes because nothing in the shops is a good fit. I also make all the furnishings for my home: curtains, sheets, etc.
I even recovered some chairs and also a couch! Nowadays I need less clothes but still love shopping at the market. I also come home with a whole stash - more than I need - but I love it! On top of it, it is affordable.
Utrecht stof markt, lapjesmarkt in Breedstraat was my favorite when i lived in Utrecht! Cool new ideas, with the sequin fabric and printed panels for beginner sewers.
Thank you lovely, I love Utrecht fabric market! 😁❤️
En nu betaal ik fortuinen voor een lapje katoen, hier in New Zealand. Maar O jongens, wat heb ik genoten, mijn hele jeugd, op de lapjesmarkt in Utrecht.
Thank you that was fascinating!! Wow that is a lot of fabric. Is this market every weekend or once a month? That bin of remnants would be perfect for your patch work. I made that Tshirt with the ruffle on the bottom and I'm making another one because it turned out so good. So Happy Sewing for you and hope everything turns out great that you want to make.
Thank you lovely 😍 it's every Saturday morning, did you make my t-shirt tutorial? That's so cool! Thanks for letting me know! 😊
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. Thank you for all the upcycles. I love the graffiti canvas fabric.❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
Thank you lovely 😀❤️
I also love the natural fabrics.
Best to wear, thank you lovely 😻
The first graffiti fabric would be great for a chore jacket.
Yes! I think it will! thank you lovely 😁❤️
Hi. Can we have it all at the Market? Just kidding. Thank you for sharing.
Yes! 😀 Thank you lovely 🤩
Thanks for taking us shopping! 😊
You welcome, I wish we could have had a coffee together! 😁❤️
Verry intesting. I'm living in another continent, but I would like to go shop there!
I love the fact that we can see how other people live, another continent another market! Thank you lovely 😍
The graffiti prints would make beautiful jackets to wear with jeans or slacks. 😍❤️
Yes, I am thinking of a jacket to be honest! 😁❤️
That is a really nice market. You picked up some great items. When you passed by the Graffiti Fabric i was thinking ohhhh that's nice, so fun to see you purchased some.😊. That last piece with Pulp Fiction super cool Graffiti.
Thank you lovely, hopefully I get sewing them them soon! 😁❤️
What a charming video. I like your enthusiasm and warmth. We often travel from the UK to Belgium, Netherlands and Germany - never visited Utrecht - we shall put in on our list!

Thank you for this visit to the market. It was really interesting. Nothing like this where I live. 🇨🇦😑
Looking forward to seeing what you choose to make. ✌😁
You welcome lovely, I don't think there are many markers like that anywhere! 🙂❤️
@@luzUpcycle I will add this to my travel bucket list! 😁
You won't be disappointed! 😀
Wow, some lovely markets you have to go to! What a choice. There is nothing like this where I live in the UK. Thank you for this, and you have quite a stash of fabric! My husband says I have too much.... Look forward to you future projects!
I know! I lived in the UK for 23 years I never saw anything like this, there is not such thing as too much fabric! 😁 thank you lovely 😁❤️
@@luzUpcycle I am an Australian that has been in the UK for about 23 years!!! We could go back, for the natural environment and better weather- not the politics though, is rotten across the globe 🙈.
I know! depressing! but we always have fabric and sewing 😁 got to make ourselves happy! 😁
Just saw your channel for the first time. And to see you visiting my favourite place of all... I was there yesterday. I live in utrecht so I am spoiled. Will be looking at your other videos as well.
You are! Utrecht is amazing! love the city and the market!, jealous! 😁❤️
AAAH, I lived in Utrecht for 5 years and have never been to the fabric market. Probably because I didn't sew yet. I now live in Belgium, but regularly cross the border. I think I'll make a stopover in Utrecht on a Saturday morning.
You should, it is fantastic! but go early because by 12:30 they start closing down. Thank you for your comment lovely 😁❤️
@@luzUpcycle I do think it's a good idea to go as early as possible. I just have to take into account that I have to drive 2 hours to get there, hopefully including finding a parking space.😥
Yes for sure! ❤️
I have a beautiful lilac ruffled bed skirt and bought a white multicolor floral print . Some o want too put them together for a dress.
I made a dress with a white blouse and a bed sheet 😁 I am sure yours would be lovely, thank you for your comment 😁❤️
Hello ! tank you . Utrecht seems a good and very interesting spot for tourism and fabrics . Euro is to day a a little much more than a US dollar , 1 euro = 1, 09 $. Thank you .
Hi Catherine, yes Utrecht is stunning! and the fabric market is one of my favourite spots in the Netherlands! 😁❤️ thank you
Kilroy was here and the drawing originated in WWII from the GI’s stationed in Europe. They would draw this on buildings and such, like you said graffiti.
Oh my goodness! Thank you for this, I will check it out, thanks much 🙂
Make a jacket with the graffiti fabric
I might do that actually 😀❤️
Love that graffiti fabric!!!
I know right?! will be making something cool with it! 😁❤️

I'm your exact skin and hair tone. Love all those fabrics. Where did you buy?
In Utrecht in the Netherlands 😀 where are you based?
could you tell me the name of the stand where you found the panel with black sequins? really loved that one!
I am really sorry, I only stoped to see the panel and didn't filmed the vendor, really sorry ❤️
