Getting Started with Open / Alternate Tunings

  • In this video I want to talk about what I do when I first approach an open tuning.
    I don't worry too much about trying to learn any chords in the tuning. Instead I try to listen where the tuning wants to go and try to get the feeling and flavour of the tuning.
    I start with a basic melody and then progress from there.

    Hey Fabian, have you messed around with partial capos? They’re great for faux open tunings without needing to retune your guitar, you can still use traditional chord shapes too, which is nice 👌

      Hey, thanks for the comment. I haven't really spent much time with partial capos. I'd like to do some more experimenting with them though for sure! 😊
