Feels like the best bet it some one's considering buying 3+ cdjs and a mixer or needs to save space. This would also be a great option for playing in less accessible locations
There’s a loud vocal minority that absolutely hate this unit and I can’t blame them. There are a few different ways. You can look at it. From a value perspective compared to Denon. It has less streaming features, but it also sounds better, some would say operates better, it’s fx are largely considered better, and with that 32 bit sound card in there sound as good as it does platters the way they work. It has its pluses just like the den and does. I bought the original prime when it came out and it took a few years for it to get streaming services also. These things just take time. Why I chose to get this thing was I have been DJing a long time, fellas. I was looking for something almost custom. I’ve always purchased the full fat pro rig whether I needed it or not, and most of life I had needed it more than I didn’t, but now with a kid and a wife married working and finance tech I can’t see spending 10 grand just to have a good time on a few streams so this looking great in an adult living room almost like hi-fi 70 stereo equipment as well as doing the work of a full on for deck DJ 900 CD DJ 2000 set up. I couldn’t be happier because you know streamings coming you know everything’s coming this thing is only a year old.
Great video, thank you. Question for you: I use the FX beat pad on the XZ to drop 1/4 / 1/2 echo delays to develop my own build up. Is that available in the FX touch screen? Literally the only caveat for me to pull the trigger on an Opus. Thank you 🙏
The "Library Plus" export requirement in rekordbox is a hassle. It should read the normal RB library like ALL other pioneerDJ gear. And the off symmetry looks terrible
@@michaellynch8612 Im djing 15years so i think i might be a "real dj". Are you going to back up what say with facts. Explain to me what features it has that make it better?

@Bertiemang • 2w ago If you buy Denon, make sure to get the best warranty your shop offers. In one year we've had to return one SC5000, three SC6000M's, and an x1800. Very unreliable and their firmware is unstable. They also keep cramming features into the firmware in which the units can't handle.
What i don't get is the huge price difference to the prime 4+. With the opus the "club standard" thing does not even apply. It looks and feels way different than a CDJ, regardless of 2000 or 3000. As it seems it is also using a different export mode, so you can't even use your normal rekordbox sticks? Go save some money and get a better piece of hardware with the prime 4+. Opus is still a cool product, but it will certainly look old in a couple of years with the form factor and the wood.
Don't be wrong with the Opus. It's a great equipment. I agree with you it feels different than CDJ 2000 nxs2 and CDJ 3000 but not worse! IMO it looks awesome! I tested Opus in June'23 and I can tell you it's not made for everyone. It's for clients who take care of his/her/its own image, cool and elegant people, ofc rooftops and high-end restaurants and beach clubs. It's not for a club although it can be used. We normally see CDJ 2000 nxs2 / 3000 in a club. You can use your normal usb with your tracks in CDJ's but for the Opus you need to click Device Library Plus. That's all. You will have 2 folders: one for the Opus, one for the rest. And it's not the double storage. They are just different routes. In a couple of years Opus won't be old dude. It will be sold out. Enjoy your Denon's.
@tylergarza8695 so why are yall trashing something dedicated to that. Just stfu at this point cause majority of yall suck as a dj and cry every time new gear comes out. And since you social rejects can't afford it you trash talk it.

So you can't dj, you sound fraudulent. So if you in front of cdj 3000 and mixer and you gonna say the same shit? Also there was no performance pads while we started on vinyl

Well, the performance pads were simplified and moved a top of the jog wheels... not that they are missing, they are just not that shiny and big like with other setups, but they are there. And yes, I do use the streaming services while playing live radio sets... :)

I use a DDJ-200 as a controller. It's so little but it's fun. The one you're reviewing is a beast. I don't have a library though. I use Tidal.
Stand alone I use my iPad to Bluetooth to channel 3 or 4 and play tidal that way through those channels.
i would love to have a full row of beat jump buttons like with pads.
What about those of us with more money than sense who just want to Dj in the bedroom?
100% valid… Godspeed!

Loved ur video arcade joke!
Do you recommend two cdj 2000 nxs 2 with a mixer or the opus quad?
Opus quad all day - it’s new tech, the 2000s are over 10 years old

Is the top plate all plastic?
Is dude wearing a Certified shirt? Nice
Does Serato stems completely take over hot cues?
So far I can’t see any mapping for the opus hot cues when stems are engaged using serato.
Yes, you can use stems mapping 3 hot cues and running Rekordbox or Serato in a laptop, you need it.
Hard to see a single reason to buy this over a prime 4 plus. Pioneer have really dropped the ball
