It's called a produce floor. He has now converted it into standard floor. Not all produce shippers will accept this trailer now. Just so people know before modification. Something to think about.
Damn good idea. I'm on file for a patent on that
🤣
That's awesome. I had a 48 ft tarp made out of Airbag material with special reinforcement towards the front so I could run a cable through the drains to hold it in. Back in 2015 I probably paid $1200 and it made potato runs so much easier. This idea is pretty cool too.
That’s a good idea since it can fold under the trailer in a toolbox and makes zero mess.
Beware those grooves are the return channels for air flow circulation. Temperature control efficiency will be affected.
No effect with potatoes as those grooves are completely plugged. Regarding other freight as long as it's on skids those channels are useless. They are there for floor loaded produce like watermelons, ETC that can get air underneath without crushing into the grooves
FR8 trucking is a genius coming up with that
But don't you miss out on all the free potatoes. I love digging those potatoes out and throwing them in the microwave.
lil sour cream on it!
Good for feeding a Russian vodka moonshine still also 🤣
Genius idea mitering wedge 👍
Thank you sir. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Have a great weekend.
Hey DIY, thanks for sharing! Have a great week.
How do you fuel a reefer?? Can we get a reefer fuel video?
That truck is smart .. Thanks for sharing
Wow, that's pretty slick. Never saw that before
Highly logical.
Simple brilliance. 👍👍
It would also have to increase the efficiency of the refer unit as well wouldn’t it? Perhaps just minimal but would add up over time I would think 🤔.
Technically yes but realistically no. You still got 45k lbs of fresh hot potatoes lmao.
these are chip potatoes....lowest quality spuds... GO Frito Lay!
@@DIYSEMIyeah and way way harder than a regular russet potato. Frito-Lay yellow potatoes are only good for potato chips or moonshine
Does air normally circulate in those grooves?
Yes if you have product that uses a plastic skid instead of a wood pallet. The duct floor allows enough air circulation so the product doesn’t warm up on the floor.
@@markm0000 thank you for the info 🙏
@@seds94 you’re welcome
Yes that is it's purpose it's called a produce floor. You can order a trailer without a produce floor that's flat. Produce floor cost more. Some produce shippers will reject that trailer now.
Yes it's called a slat floor used for produce that is floor loaded. It has zero purpose for palletized loads. As far as potatoes go on floor loaded it is also useless because the potatoes plug the floor channels
Interesting stuff 😃
Could just buy flat floor reefer...🤷♂️ I guess do what you have to do with what's available
You can but the resale value sucks.
Flat floors are better. Who wants to haul floor stacked produce anyway?
Respectfully, how is it scientifically possible for that not to hold mold after the first week? You’ve essentially got a sponge jammed in the floor that is exposed to moisture every day of its life. I’ve used this product before.
you would have to ask the guy that bought it. Ive seen his other ones...no mold
Probably just spray with food safe sanitizer solution once a week
I've got moisture in the side of the wall of the trailer, and it makes the wall buldge inwards on one side. Any idea how best to get it fixed preferably on my own considering the today's market.
if it is inside the walls not much you can do but open it up and replace insulation. When I am home i leave the doors open on hot days it will help dry it out inside
@@DIYSEMI thank you!
Another good method as a SOP maintenance procedure is to run it in heat mode after you're done with a refrigerated load. I usually run mine on heat mode with the vent door open for two or three hours afterwards to help remove moisture faster
Cool
👍
Like Styrofoam cup
Safe to eat?

Do you have anymore reefers for sale?
I do
