  • [1 hour]-Diamond Sutra - Four Verses (When you know the emptiness of the body, you can see the Tathagata)

The Buddha, after finishing his teachings, would often sing them again for the public's understanding.
He would take difficult scriptures and present them in song, hoping that it would make our lives prosperous.

[Song Lyrics and Meaning of Buddhist Scriptures]
(★) What is the Diamond Sutra?
It emphasizes the truth that all existence is empty (without form), and understanding this truth leads to enlightenment.
At first, it is difficult to understand the truth of emptiness and the doctrine of dependent origination.
(★) What are the Four Verses?
The core ideas of the Diamond Sutra are revealed through these four verses.
Although the Diamond Sutra contains many verses, these four are considered the key ones:
    (★) What is the Tathagata?
It means a Buddha who has reached the truth or attained enlightenment.
    (1) The Division of True Seeing (如理實見分)
▶ Whatever has form is empty. If one sees that form is not form, they will immediately see the Tathagata.
    (2) The Division of the Adornment of the Pure Land (莊嚴淨土分)
▶ Do not attach your mind to form (material things). Do not attach your mind to sounds, smells, tastes, or touches. The mind should be free, not attached to anything.
    (3) The Division of the Dharma Body (法身非相分)
▶ If you seek me through form or sound, you are following a false path, and you will not be able to see the Tathagata.
    (4) The Division of Transformation and Illusion (應化非眞分)
▶ All phenomena in the world, such as birth and death, are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows, dewdrops, and lightning. You should view them this way.

    Whatever has form is empty.
If you see that form is not form,
you will immediately see the Tathagata.
Do not attach your mind to form,
and do not attach your mind to sound, smell, taste, or touch.
You should not remain anywhere but let your mind be free.
Form is empty. If you see that form is not form,
you will immediately see the Tathagata.
If you seek me through form or sound,
you are following a false path,
and you will not be able to see the Tathagata.
    All phenomena in the world,
    such as birth and death,
are like dreams, illusions, bubbles, shadows,
    dewdrops, and lightning.
You should view them this way.
Form is empty. If you see that form is not form,
you will immediately see the Tathagata.
