Thanks for dropping by the carpet expert blueprint channel! I really appreciate it!
In this video I share how to transition carpet to ceramic tile for a smooth look!
I also share the tools you will need to get this done as well as the simple strategy to make this transition look great! - Навчання та стиль
thanks for the demo--I was hoping my husband could do a job--but we don't have those tools - but this is good looks like we wouldn't need the metal edging stuff. Thanx
I used to honestly dislike this method but after coming across so many homes where the tile has backerboard underneath it,
It looks horrible if you tuck the carpet to tile like normal.
I watched one of your older videos and this is so much easier and cheaper than buying / building ramps for the carpet to tile.
Thank you!
Gold Coast Flooring | Carpet & Tile Care thank you and I hear ya! It’s “not by the books” but it’s effective for sure!
Thanks for teaching me this one!
Well done, love it
Thanks for the information man. Good video!
Great work!
Awesome! This was great!!
Thx so much.... 🤗
very helpful. Thanks.
Tim Sinnott no prob! Thank you!
nice work.
I use pieces of cardboard from the takstrips and put it under the tackstrip and when its much higher i just add another tackstrip. But this method is great for shaggy carpet.
cabrera14651 thanks for sharing! Yep the cardboard strategy is effective as well
What type and size of staples did you use?
how about doing the same thing except on a concrete subfloor?
Boom, nuff said
What's under the carpet? I have concrete pads, what do I use instead of staples?
what if the tile has a metal strip already?
How do you transition at the top of stairs? Carpet on stairs. Hardwood or tile on main floor. Will this method work with that traffic over stairs?
Jeff Buck thanks for connecting! Kinda hard to explain in text but yep you can use this method on the riser of the top stair to transition to the hardwood floor. The next time I have this situation on a job site I’ll be sure to shoot a video sharing how I’d go about finishing it off
Sounds good, look forward to the video.
My current stairs are carpet onto a tile landing. Can’t tell if they glued it or just stuffed it. It is definitely not stapled.
Want to replace carpet on the stairs, just wasn’t sure what to do at the top. It doesn’t have any kind of molding strip, but don’t want that either.
Jeff Buck yep if you turn and staple the new carpet up to the tile on the landing you should be good to go.
or a Z-bar if your OCD about the staple indentations
Man i hate z bars. But i feel like z bars are only good when the carpet is higher than the other surfaces
@@cabrera14651 only use them if they're already down mostly.
@@WILSON0o6 yea I try not to use em and I hate it when people use it when its unnecessary but it is more secure and clean than other methods.
Can you do that on concrete subfloor?
Chase Montoya yessir if you nail a piece of tack strip down first to the concrete subfloor you can turn and tack the carpet to it

What if you dont have extra carpet?
Huh....hmmm....How bout that....Thanks!
Well u can not use staples on edges that's not professional there is already tacks trip if tile is sharp u can use e_cap or t-metal.u can not bend carpet over there and if tiles are really higher u can putt double tack strip 😉
Double tack strip as in next to each other or on top of each!?
@@faradpack 2 double on top and single one to make level
@@faradpack total 3 tack strip
Also u can finish the underpad on 3rd one and it will make smooth level
You need "Z" bar not staples..
Bad installation 👎
