I’ve had positive results using ozone in a treestand setting. I own the HR300 and have had wind swirl in those light & variable winds. Confirmed with milkweed the wind was swirling towards the deer. With the ozone generator on, the deer would look up then resume feeding. When the ozonics was off, whenever the wind swirled the deer ran off blowing immediately.
Have had that experience several times over. Say whatever you want, for light and variable winds this thing is an asset.

About 40 minutes before a massive thunderstorm, I had about 15 deer within 40 yds of me. Some walking single file straight downwind. Two bucks including a 10 pt. That I shot. Walked within 2 feet of my steps and stood downwind at 5 yds. Not one of those deer gave any indication that they smelled anything. I hadn't used any scent control products. Natural ozone from the storm? Strange but super fun night.

Jack this machine works ! I went on a bow hunt in Missouri. Had the biggest eight point I have ever seen within 15 yards downwind of my ground blind. I know it works.

Is using an ozone machine for treating your clothing worth the wear and tear it puts on certain types of materials like the elastic bands in many clothing items? I have wondered this when I have used my ozone machine. I would treat my hunting clothes the night before every hunt and while the results showed in the field the trade-off was that by the end of the season the elastic in any piece of clothing I treated continuously was shot causing me to have to replace that item. That included underwear, socks, thermal layers. For some that's a steep price to pay and for others they might consider it the cost of playing the scent game at the next level. I have since stopped treating my clothing with ozone and have gone back to using descenting sprays.

they are one of the biggest scams precisely for this reason. the science simply is not there
not to mention did you hear how he said it has a distinct smell? ozone has a smell and I'm pretty sure the deer have receptors for it too

Ozone has a free radical electron and is highly reactive. It can have direct health consequences if inhaled, so is certainly not safe in an enclosed environment. The literature would suggest that, aside from direct inhalation, when an odor molecule in the air or a molecule on a surface reacts with ozone, an odorant will take on a new molecular structure which may have potential to be toxic if inhaled or contacted. Ozone has the capacity to react chemically with a only a fraction of odorous molecules, so it can never be 100% effective. On top of this, the concentration of ozone necessary to eliminate only the odorants that it has the capacity to react with is quite high and achieving this in an outdoor setting is unlikely. There may be an application or two where ozone is useful (perhaps in an enclosed bag at high concentrations with hunting clothes to eliminate some of the odors and sterilize it of odor producing bacteria/spores/fungi after use). For most people, there are much better things to spend money on.

I only use a small plug in ozone device in my vehicle and I keep my hunting jacket in there. I then air the vehicle out really well before I get in it after using the ozone device. Don't breathe in ozone in an enclosed area, it is not healthy to do so.

What about the new ion generators. Are they any better or worse. They claim they are safer on you and your gear and still kill human odor.

I purchased an Ozonics generator 2 years ago and I did not have good results. Every single deer that got down wind of me would react negatively. The didn't smell me, but they certainly didn't want anything to do with it. The next time I went out, I didn't take it and I shot my buck at 5 yards. In my opinion, I wish I wouldn't have bought it...

In summary, I "feel" like this works. Often time I see that it doesn't work but it's good so use it anyway. Trust me.

I can see using ozone to kill the scent in your clothes. I can also see it maybe working in a ground blind. For a tree stand? Seems ridiculous.

Joking aside, I'm not ready to invest in ozone stuff but glad it works for some.

If you're happy with it, it was worth the money. Don't let other people drag on you. I made a couple home made ozone generators rather than spend big money on an Ozonics unit. It's certainly not 100%, but I had many, many occasions where deer would be down wind of me and while they obviously smelled ~something~, they didn't panic and run.@@BG-bx4ey
